I would love to play through an AP in a tabletop game someday.
I like it, but I have never gamed any way except table top in person.
ROAD TRIP!!!!!

That would be EPIC!

If you ever make it out to Colorado we would be thrilled to have you over. :)

EDIT: I would be dressed presumably.

Ooohh my.

Better do it before the $10 a pack prices head your way

LOL! No doubt.

How are you doing? I imagine this is a rough time of year.

Not the best Yule I've ever spent, no. I am currently at my second job, and I started working at 3am (it's five pm here now). I'm feeling pretty burnt out and quite a bit depressed. I am trying to maintain, but it is hard.

Working a crap ton of hours has helped me keep my mind on something else when I was going through some very hard times, but try not to get too much of a good thing. Staying super busy can help, but if you get too exhausted it can all catch up to you at once in an emotionally brutal way.

I sent you a text. Feel free to call anytime you need/want to.

God Jul everybody!

Had a good, long dinner with the family with plenty of meat, bread, and (icky-icky-nasty) fish, followed by the opening of the presents and two games of Trivial Pursuit.

Time to lie down and enjoy not having to go out and deliver any newspapers in the rain tonight.

Scarab Sages

Greeting FAWTLY Folk, on this Merry Christmas Eve. I hope everyone had a decent Friday. I ended up taking a few hours of vacation and leaving work a tad early. With so many people out there wasn't really much to be accomplished anyway.

Scarab Sages

Plus, I still had some gifts to buy.

Gonna go hang with the boy for a bit. Mommy's planning on making sugar cookies.

Tomorrow, I shall cook something!!!

Spoiler:
OK, so I'm not really cooking, so much as heating the spiral ham in the oven. But there's fire and food, so I count that as cooking!

It's a Frightful!mas miracle!?

No fire subtype? I assume that was deliberate to avoid giving it cold vulnerability?

Hmmm... Something is off with formatting - bolded words at the beginning of the lines fuse with the first unbolded word. Or is it only my laptop having problems?

Ok, it was my laptop - it corrected itself when I reloaded the page.

I think that I would bumped its damage up a bit (or lower CR), maybe the breath could inflict 4d6 points of damage instead of 2d6?

Also, with their draconic maybe they could get something extra, like immunity to paralysis and/or sleep? Or blindsense?

That is correct. :)

40 feet is a pretty big cone, and they have a good feat layout. They could be could be more durable or do more damage, but they could be a tougher fight than first glance might suggest. They seem to compare decently to CR3 hell hounds.

The 2d6 was a holdover from a lower CR. I've changed it to 3d6 (half its Hit Dice). :)

I also added immunity to sleep. Thanks for the suggestion!

I am currently cooking the single-most-expensive piece of meat I've ever purchased or seen outside of TV shows about rich excesses. (A five-rib standing roast that I pre-ordered without asking, "What's the price per pound?" A mistake I will never repeat). I've seen meat that costs much more per pound, but I bought a 12-pound roast, so there's some competition there.

We'll see whether it was worth the price, but I've got all the trimmings to go with it (mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, salad, garlic bread, good red wine), and good company, so even if the meat ends up being a mistake, we'll have a wonderful evening, and we can tell stories of the legendary "one month's rent" roast right up there with our friend who ordered ONE POUND of saffron...

And because I know someone will ask, it was $30/pound, so I have a $360 piece of meat in my oven. Kind of scary. But I honor my commitments, no matter how stupid, so I took the hit and bought the thing. I hope it's tasty!

It really has. Being off caffeine on doctor's orders since this past spring has really cut down the weekly spending - the bottles of flavored water I get instead total about half as much in cost, though this is somewhat balanced out by being more awkward to transport compared to a boxed 12-pack of soda.

Just got back from Hobbit 2. Was pretty good.

Use a meat thermometer and watch your roasting time and you should be good to go. I'm doing a ham, which is fall-off-a-log easy. Black-eyed peas, squash and the Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Torte to follow.

A whole pound of saffron? Wow. I didn't know you could actually buy that much in bulk.

. And a POUND of saffron? Id consider unsavory acts were I to be paid in pounds of saffron.

Settle down, Shylock.

Well, the good news is that I managed to cook it perfectly! The miracles of modern thermometers and all that. And it was a truly excellent cut of beef.

But no, $300+ roasts are not going on my "annual Christmas traditions" list -- I'm thinking a spiral ham. Someone's put me in the mood for one...

And yeah, no one will discuss what was paid for the pound of saffron, other than it involved four figures, but it's 4 years later and he still hasn't managed to go through it all or give it away. I'm afraid at that point I would have said, "No. Sorry. I'm not paying for that much saffron." Even I have my limits!

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, or whatnot, all! It's time for us to watch some truly awful Ranken + Bass Christmas specials!

I'm waiting until I get home to see it. Last year I saw it with my daughter, son in law and his parents. My son in law's Mom passed away recently, but we are going to see if my son in law's Dad want's to join us if it isn't too heavy. It probably doesn't mean too much to him, but it's one of the last things we all got to do together.

(Sorry to be a buzz kill.)

I honestly have no clue. My sick days are little different from some of my lazier healthy days - sit around, play games or internet on the computer, read. If I'm too sick to do those, I'm sleeping too much to do anything.

But if your friend wants to give some away, there's this very nice home in Cali where it would be loved and treated like royalty. Seriously.
