I'm sorry for the lack of furniture, and I hope you acquire some quickly for a good price!

Have you checked junk sales and such?

I have not yet, but I don't want to start poking around at too much stuff until I'm confirmed able to move. If I don't this month, I won't have any place to store stuff here.

My dad's offered to loan me an inflatable mattress for a bit when I do first move, and I have a desk being held by a friend for me, so that'll cover the basic necessities for a while. I can pick up what I can find/afford from there a bit at a time.

Are you certain you're not dreaming and still in the vehicle? :P

How did it go?

Aside from the eternity on 2-lane rural highways? Fine. Liked the town well enough, put a deposit down on a place I'll be able to move into in early July.

How big is the house?

Also, will you have help moving?

Small apartment, and parents are going to help.
Sounds like it's going to be an interesting move. I hope you have enough furniture for it. And that the appliances all work. I hate moving in a place to discover I'm short a couch and the only working appliance is the microwave.

Landlord seemed like a really nice guy, and the places (saw multiple units by the same company) looked to be well-maintained. Worst case, there is actually a convenient Walmart.

Not sure I mentioned this, but I found out during the week that my older brother here in Houston is moving to Dallas. His wife got a promotion and transfer. Not sure when, but it'll be a little while before they go.

So now, in preparation for selling their house and moving, he's giving me his old work bench, since he's not sure he'll have space to keep it.

Huzzah for me! But it still sucks to see them go. Especially to Dallas.

Well, every Gary I've ever known is kind of a douche...

Oh, wait. You're a Gary too, aren't you? I guess you're the exception that proves the rule.

Now that I think about it, I should probably state for the record that I don't think the PMG is a douche either. Despite being a Gary. So I suppose that's 2 exceptions to prove the rule.

Congrats to her on the promotion!

I hope his move goes smoothly, and I hope his trip is safe. I am sorry he is moving away, though.

and for the record:

I have not the slightest Idea what any of the people in FHDM's posts are dressed up as
( well, beside Abby from NCIS, the Redshirt and Lara Croft, and the last one only because you have to live under a rock to not recognize Lara Croft, I have never played the game)

I wonder how many people actually recognized Ranma and Ryoga.
