This is a little late, and more for my own documentation, but I hope you will indulge me. January 9th, 2012 was my 2nd anniversary since I stated with Pathfinder.
Posted 1/9/2011
Happy PAIZO birthday to me! TODAY is the one year anniversary of when I first downloaded the conversion guide to investigate the differences between 3.5 and Pathfinder.Boy, did I not know at that time what I was getting into.
In one year...
* Tordek has made 547 posts (754 including aliases) Now 1217 (1891 with aliases)
* started GM'ing a Rise of the Runelords game for a group of great people he didn't know until he met them in April through the Gamer Connection forum. (We are just starting book 3) One more encounter to go in book 4
* started GM'ing Kingmaker for his wife and two of his three sons. (We are close to finishing book 2) This got put on hold, but now we are doing some home brew campaigns
* began playing in two active PBPs Those died but now I am in two more, with another starting and GMing one of my own.
* played in two PFS games and registered (with his wife!) to play in three PFS sessions at OwlCon in two weeks. (His first game convention.)
Owlcon went so well, my wife and two of three sons went to Gencon in 2011 and loved it. This year, there is a good chance of going to Paizocon
* killed three rogues, a ranger, a cleric, a paladin, and a djinni and hopes to kill a certain fighter in 2011 ;) Failure - the fighter still survives
* become a subscriber and is slowly back filling all of the AP's he missed in his dark ages before he saw the light Success - My AP collection is complete and growing. All after just beginning to play DnD in the summer of 2009 well after I turned 40. I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
The same sentiment below still holds
Thank you to Paizo for producing great product and treating your customers/fans so well.Thank you to all of the message board posters (especially the FAWTLy ones) who have taught me so much about RPGs in such a short time.
Here's to another great gaming year!
Tagging to make it easier to find next year - Paizo Anniversary

I've sort of adopted the Texans now that I am living here plus there is the added incentive that they are playing the traitorous Ravens (formerly the original Cleveland Browns) and I always root against them.
Ugh - Nope - can't do it. Will have to root for the pats and then hope they lose to the NFC champ.

Maybe you should get some experience abroad. England, perhaps? You could visit pubs.
A broad? I'm experienced with broads. You have to be when you moonlight as a pole dancer to cover your college expenses to be able to speak three languages.
England? I much prefer France. French kissing is a result of having lots of ranks in linguistics. The French are cunning linguists, indeed!!1

Should be starting up Darklight Sisterhood in a few hours! Last night's Kingmaker game was great, a "connective tissue" episode as we did a lot of kingdom management and deciding what the party was going to do next. I expect something similar for tonight's Darklight Sisterhood game as the party has more or less wrapped up sidequests, and trying to decide their next big mission at the upcoming Tea Party.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Kevin from England was banished from the party after he continued to annoy the hell out of everyone by referring to soccer as football. Meanwhile, Sam and Dean found themselves once again in trouble with the law after a misunderstanding with some local wildlife. And, across town, several penguins....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

But what if that NFC team is the evil 49ers?!? The team of bastiches that my beloved Saints let beat them?!? What if they're playing the Pats?
Ah hell, even I'd cheer for the 49ers in that scenario.

Furthermore, the word "soccer" is of English origin, it comes from an abbreviation of "Football Association" (i.e. "assoc.").
I don't care where soccer comes from. Calling American football football makes absolutely no sense. Aside from a couple moves, there is very little kicking.

You really need to find somewhere else to post. We are all friends in this thread, have been for a long time. You're don't really fit our small slice of the Paizo universe.
If you don't like my opinions, just say so. No need to get insulting about it. I don't like having my nationality rubbed in my face, and I don't like being called pretentious.

Let me clue you in. I. Don't. Care.
You crap in here, it stinks and I don't like it. I come to this thread to get away from people who can't deal with their issues and force them down other's throats. I come in here to have fun with people I consider friends, and who have proven as much repeatedly. I owe more than a few posters in her for helping me out in tough times and helping me preserve my sanity. They're good people. And they deserve better than to have to see you crap in our clubhouse.
You don't like being called "pretentious"? Don't be pretentious then. You don't like having your nationality "rubbed in your face"? Don't say things that display your distaste for your nationality. Because, you know, some of us like it here, and may even have a little pride for the place, and WE don't like having your malcontent opinions rubbed in OUR faces.
We have fun here. We like fun people to post here. You're not fun, you're a buzzkill that tries to hard and makes inappropriate comments. You make me not want to post here sometimes, and that pissed me off.
So, troll, you win. You pissed me off. Happy?
Montana MacAilbert |
No, I'm not happy, because I don't want to piss you off. If you haven't noticed, I'm pretty oblivious to how what I say effects people, and I do put out a lot of unnecessary and irritating stuff as a result. That doesn't mean I don't like you guys, or that I want to make you mad. It means I have severe social difficulties, and that causes problems. I don't want to be a buzzkill, I want to be fun. I really do.
Montana MacAilbert |
You know what would be nice? A heads up when I'm being a b~@&!. A simple "That's inflammatory" or "That's going to start a fight", and I'll get rid of the post myself. I'm not normal. I wish I were, but I'm not. I don't have the same ability to judge the effects of what comes out of my mouth that others do, and I hate this more than anything. It's why I can't keep friends when I desperately want to. I'm not asking you to be my therapist or anything. Just tell me politely when I post something I shouldn't, and I'll delete it.
Montana MacAilbert |
You know what would be nice? Not having to give someone a heads up. We're all adults. If you can't filter yourself, the best thing to do is not post at all.
I know you shouldn't have to give me a heads up. I want nothing more. If I can't control, how can I do anything in life? I know this. I do. I know I have to be better than I am, and I do try. Most of the stuff I plan on posting here doesn't get posted because I think twice. It just isn't easy for me to catch every stupid thing I do.
Montana MacAilbert |
Maybe I should turn the computer off so you don't have to deal with me when I'm in this mood. Yea, I think I'll do that. This discussion isn't going to go anywhere other than me complaining about how I am and people getting mad at me for being the b~~#* that I am. It's a whole lot of drama that none of us want or need.

Well it is America. None "American Football" is called Soccer; being short for Association football both, as well as Ruby and "Australian rules Football" being descendants on a medieval game of Football. learn before thou speaketh.

Oh, and it's better to just step away than to sing "Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I'm going to eat some worms" and then step away. That kind of "look at me I'm special" raises people's hackles. Everybody gets their grar up now and again, no need to increase drama by pointing to it and saying "look I'm so full of drama."

Yeah, it sucks. Chalk it up to 5 turnovers, and then the defense not doing their damned job.
Meh, hopefully next year there'll be some improvement.

For Gary's sanity I won't post what I was going to.
