Who am I kidding, it doesn't take a minute to make them all vanish. Goodbye forever, flamebait threads. You will not be mourned.

Orthos, please do not use your powers to kill people through the internet.

... without our authorization.

Somehow I don't think that Orthos will be amused by authorizations issued while naked.

That's not standard dress code, sir.

Damn, those sandwiches are too good. I need to leave some bread for tomorrow.

Uh, I planned to go sleep early today...

Well, that happened. Woke up at 8 AM coughing up blood. Spent the next few hours at the hospital hooked up to a ventilator before someone figured out that I'd been coughing so hard that I'd torn up the back of my throat. Went in as a priority patient, and left with a prescription for industrial-strength Mucinex. I'd consider that a good anticlimax.

Geez, Mr. S. Glad it wasn't anything worse. Such things should not be allowed to happen to my friends on my birthday! *shakefist*

Aw, a birthday blitz. You shouldn't have, CH.

Spoiler:

No, really. You shouldn't have.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. You're way too nice!

Birthday EXPLOSIVE RUNES!

EXPLOSIVE RUNES AGAIN!
Stupid relighting runes.

Hope you feel better soon, and as you say a good anti-climax.

In the immortal words of Keanu, "Woah!"

Any idea what brought that on?

F~%+... I have to put together this f!@%ing website concept by the end of the week, and I still can't think of a domain name. This would be a lot easier if I was a less serious person...

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! It's a bright, sun-shiny day here in Philthadelphia. A bit cold, but oh well.

Gonna finish up with my current bit of stuff and go get another cup of coffee.

Meanwhile in Sweden, the football season has started.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. I had bouts of hard coughing but nowhere near close to that. Get better Shiny.

Yesterday I dreamed of being magically cloned and moved between bodies to evade evil wizard (or was that a sorceress as usual, the details dissolved in the mists of sleep). Today I first dreamed of nannying a newborn child. Then I dreamed of discovering facility where mutated children were euthanized.

Is it weird that I am finding this cookbook to be a page turner? I seriously can't put it down.

Yeah. I'm thinking that's weird.

Silver Crusade

(For those curious, it's Great British Cooking: A Well-Kept Secret by Jane Garmey. It takes a look at classic recipes and techniques from the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and contains heaps of fascinating cultural bits about how meals were served in the larger households, etc.)

Ooh, a mystery and cookbook all in one... perhaps a 'choose your own adventure' book.

Sounds awesome! The wife loves cookbooks, so I may have to recommend it to her. Or save it for a potential gift....

My favorite cookbook is The Encyclopedia of Cajun & Creole Cuisine by Chef John Folse. It has tons of great recipes, a bit of history and story telling, and is big enough to cave someone's skull in.

I feel the same way about technical manuals sometimes. And books of math.

I have an Encyclopedia of Italian Cooking that can be used to similar purpose.

So it is a cooking utensil for you as well?

What he said.

Save for "That's life sometimes" replacing "That's about par for the course these days."

So apparently I'm an idiot. I'd only been searching ".com" domain names, while completely neglecting ".net" and ".org" domains. Once I figured that out, I was able to find a name in about ten seconds. Three weeks of freaking out for nothing. This is why I can't have nice things.

That's the thing that really sucks about life sometimes - its often a game of inches and subtlety, and when you think in big sweeping movements, you miss a lot.
