Ah... nothing gets nerdrage up more than an ubiquitous list not including a personal favorite (or ordered such that the persona favorite isn't high enough).
Fortunately, I am a Blue Blazer Irregular, so I am immune to such lists.

I am not even sure how I would set up my own top 10 list, for either category.
Especially since the currently or recently read books tend to be high up the list while fresh in the minds eye.

I don't know why Animal Farm's on there at all. I mean, yeah, sure, they're talking animals, but that's stretching "fantasy" a bit farther than I'm comfortable for in these lists.
It is a Fable. This form of writing is often seen as a precursor to the fantasy form of literature.

And it dovetails somewhat into "science fiction as allegory."

Which most "good" sci fi does really well. I was surprised by A canticle for Liebowitz both in how much I liked it and how much I couldn't stand it.

I don't think I'll have that problem. I'm enough of an ass to tell them to leave if they get disruptive. :)

Since I haven't seen Captain America yet, I've been trying to resist going to Wikipedia and reading the plot summary. But my curiousity is slowly getting the better of me. And with today's realization that I'll likely never get to see it until it comes on a cable channel, I'm slowly losing the battle.

You haven't seen it yet? What's wrong with you?
