if pizza is being served to me by milkmaids then yes, I'll eat naked.

those were outright disappointing.

Sometimes, it really sucks to be the technical lead for the department.

  • "Here, NobodysHome! Do full updates on these 3 courses, then 1/4 of this fourth course, and mentor one of our people on a fifth course." (Our other department members max out at 2.25 courses each.)
  • "Oh! Everyone else has posted courses for full review! Can you do those reviews, too?"
  • "This other department needs help reviewing their stuff! Review this course, too!"
  • "Oh, it's really important that you do a full review of this book!"
  • "These five meetings are critical this week. Please attend all of them."
  • Sometimes I wonder just how many hours my manager thinks there actually are in a week...

    Oh. My. Gosh.

I actually had a real human, with two other humans, who happened to need two other humans, reply to a message about me and my gf looking for a group. I might be in a live game as early as two weeks. We meet up for drinks in a couple weeks. *squeals with excitement* ITS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE I'VE BEEN IN A LIVE GAME!

...and also, real humans know at least one real human who smokes weed, and thus can get me in contact with some f#%#ing green. Oh holy s&&*. Ohhhh. I might just wet myself.

Tensions are high. The kids are as angry as I've ever seen them. I think a friendship has been irrevocably destroyed. Accusations of theft, betrayal. One of them's in jail with no plans for release.

...and they were so excited when I said we'd be playing Monopoly this week.

Monopoly makes me sad. My brothers, father, and I spent countless hours playing on our annual ski trips; being trapped in a cabin all night with nothing else to do does that to you.

Then my brother married a woman who has an honest-to-goodness psychosis about Monopoly. I've never seen it's like. She quite literally started screaming at me and physically threatening me for refusing a property deal that would have screwed me over.

She apologized after the game, but I've never played Monopoly again.
(I'd play with my kids, but they find it boring.)

IIRC Monopoly's creators intended it to show the evils of capitalism. People act exactly as they would in the real world when that much money is at stake - like greedy douches.

Why I've Insisted on the Same Manager for 14 Years:
NobodysHome: So, since you've been sending me all those review notifications I've buckled down and been doing deep-dive reviews on everything you asked me to, plus attended all the technical talks and prepared notes for the team on them. But it means you're not going to see anything productive out of me this week.
Manager: Are you kidding!?!?!? I've looked at those reviews and those notes! Keep doing what you're doing!!!

Yeah, I'm a good reviewer. I'm just a slow one...

Was it the Sam Smith's Imperial Stout?

I wish, Sam Smith's is great - been a while since I've been to one of the pubs, tho' there's a few about.

Yeah - there's one in Bradford (the Shoulder of Mutton), though that's very much a Local Pub for Local People, and Sinclair's Oyster Bar in Manchester that I know of.

How do Bay Area residents know winter is coming?

Their calico moves from the west-facing living room sofa to the south-facing master bedroom.

I swear, I'd think she was dead except for her attempts to kill anyone who touches her, and her tendency to follow the sun as it moves through the house...

But its been a while since I've got over to Bradford, one of my friends lives in Yeadon though.

Limey, US peanut butter doesn't taste like European. It usually has a ton of added sugar.

    Because Murica.

You should try Quaker peanut butter.

It gives you a whole new appreciation for Jif.

Depends on the peanut butter and what you’re using it for. I really like the peanut butter that’s just ground up peanuts, but it separates something awful and the texture is too thick for some things. My favorite peanut butter is a low sugar option because it’s got the creaminess and doesn’t have to be stirred before use but isn’t so sweet it tastes like dessert.

    Two doctor appointments today.

My PCP thinks my nausea and fatigue is probably a result of my tylenol ODing, we'll see what my bloodwork shows. This could be serious, as I'm already at risk for liver failure.

The neurologist said "Good news, both of your brain tests came back normal!" To which I replied "So...what else might be the cause of my awful horrible suicidal insomnia?" "Oh, 99% of the time there's no clear cause of insomnia, in your case it's probably genetic and will get worse as you get older." >:/

The most frustrating part of all of this is the mystery and uncertainty. Last week a different doctor had me tested for tuberculosis because a sputum sample showed something in the TB family that could have been. I was actually disappointed when the test came back negative, because a positive could have explained a whole lot of my health problems this year and given me a clear treatment plan.

Wow, TS, that sucks! Hope they find the cause sooner rather than later.

I grew up on Laura Scudder's All Natural Peanut Butter (Chunky) (just peanuts and salt). I do not consider peanut butter with added sugar to be edible. Which makes pretty much ALL peanut-butter flavored candy a massive disappointment. It took me YEARS to convince NobodysWife to stop buying me peanut butter cookies, peanut butter candies, etc. She kept saying, "But you LOVE peanut butter!", and I'd respond, "That cookie has about as much to do with peanut butter as French Toast has to do with the French."

EDIT: I love homemade peanut butter cookies, because I use proper peanut butter and the cookies actually taste like, y'know, peanuts. If I want sugar cookies, I'll buy sugar cookies, thanks.

Meh, peanut butter, what it is good for anyway... I don't get American obsession with that thing.

Not much a fan of peanuts in the first place, either, though I'd rather have some salted peanuts than peanut butter.

TS, ick about insomnia =( Why can't American doctors, you know, be more competent at what they're doing?

Also, I'm at the highland country inn in Flagstaff, they have free servings of tea, I've tried the chai spice tea, the misty mint, the lively lemon and the cinnamon and spice herbal tea.

Do not understand what's the problem with chai spice tea, but I suppose like a kanu dog from Caverns of Kalte, I eat and drink nearly anything. Also soon to add bison and elk to my list of exotic meats consumed, since I bought some bison and elk jerky from one of those stores selling native American products in Sedona.

TS, positive thoughts and all that about the test results for the liver stuff.

The diagnostic process is so frustrating and I know that feels where you're like just can it please be something treatable that is known and understood, even if that thing is bad. :/

TS I hope that they fix you soon. I would suggest being moved into a new body, but as of right now, cloning is not quite up to it. As for the brain transfer, that is no worry. You will not miss what you loose.

Holy shyte dude. And right after talking about Tylenol being more dangerous than a lot of drugs, and weed helping your insomnia but not being a viable prescription under medical marijuana laws. Whoa. That sucks man.

My ex sent me a box of stuff she found I left after the divorce.

So many feels. A lot was just worthless crap and paperwork from jobs I left years ago, but a lot was pictures. A charm she gave me when we were dating that had (her name) loves (me) on it from the first time she told me she loved me. I said it first and then she handed it to me so I knew it wasn't just a reply for the sake of not being awkward.

I think I'll go cry myself to sleep and not wake up until my bladder outright forces me to get up, and then spend the day after in the dark regretting every choice I've made in the last two years.

I wasn't kidding when I said Cap's method to getting laid beat mine. That kind of love kicks at will sex right in the balls by comparison.

Yep. Gonna just go hate myself.
