And . . . .

EDIT: . . . and winning.

My latest scavenged find is a commemorative tankard for the Yeovil Town Cryer Competition. It's nice that they have a contest for who can shout the best while wearing a tricorne hat, and nicer still that they went to the lengths of engraving a beer glass to celebrate the event.

Shadow Lodge

*gasps for air* THAT WAS TOO LONG.

Not even close.

Yeah, you don't even have "add friend" button...

Don't quite know what this means...

Your facebook profile doesn't have one.

One day 'til playtest is on.
And two days before the rest of the games in the latest humble bundle I got are revealed... :/

I started to put on cloths to go to shop and buy a few things, only for the storm to break out. Thankfully before I walked outside, so now I am sitting in front of computer.

Been gone since last week, what have I missed?

What I've been up to: Last night I helped playtest an adventure for Mrs Sunrise's coven.

:O

Tell us more about that sex part.

Also, I might need more D&D in my life...

Ah, back form Farm-sitting.

Now for some quality FaWtL-time...

Well, I'm back wobbly site or not.

Anything earthshattering happened?

Ok, it's here. Apparently there was a lot of orders at the same time when the storm started...

(1) Nothing much happened, since the site was down for what? 12 hours or so?

(2) Well, I worked my tail off Monday, Tuesday, and this morning, knowing that I had four major projects to get done this week before my 2-week vacation. I have three of them done, putting me a full half-day ahead of schedule.
But rather than thinking, "Woo hoo! Early Friday!", I'm thinking, "Oh, Gods, what horrors are going to happen on this fourth project to make me work overtime going into the weekend?"

NobodysHome, pessimist extraordinaire!

Well then, hope your last project comes through smoothly, so you may get an early start on your vacation!

I also hope I didn't jinx it merely talking about it ^^'

Mrs Sunrise's coven is very participatory, at least on holidays. There's always a ritual; but before the ritual proper, there's always some kind of fun thematic thing to do. Usually it's something crafty, like making candles or tree ornaments; but it can be anything participatory. Like an rpg adventure.

The member high-priesting this Saturday's Lughnasadh decided to GM an adventure as the pre-ritual fun thing. But she's never GMed (or played, I think) anything before. So she came over, and Mrs Sunrise and I playtested her adventure over dinner.

*Pronounced Loo-nasah

Which is only D&D in the sense that any TTRPG is 'D&D.' But it involved a Scarecrow Army, which was pretty cool.

Spoiler:
No sex or drugs, sorry for the letdown.

Huh…

Well that's one way of getting into TTRPGs, you don't hear about often. Then again I have no idea what your average coven does on ritual days/nights, so maybe its common enough.
Sounds interesting though.

Though, I feel slightly bummed out about the lack of nude-forest-clearing-frolicking and shroom-munching…

Did anyone figure out why the site was down again? Was it due to the pathfinder 2.0 rush?

Too much work makes everyone pessimistic.

I'm mildly grouchy myself that I didn't get my PBP dose yesterday because the site was down.

No idea, but its a fair guess.

I'm kind of the opposite…not really that good at keep myself on task, so I end up half-assing a lot of things. On the positive side it does make you generally better at half-assing things ^^'

Just watch out for yourself Mort, take a rest once in while, pace yourself and make yourself feel nice and relaxed.

No, I met Vany. If I met Captain Yesterday, I would have talked him into building me a y wing. With hydraulics so I can pimp my ride, old school.

I'm going to need more cardboard tubes for the hydraulics, and probably some duct tape and streamers.

And stickers! You can't build anything without stickers.

Gods. That suuuuuuuucks!

It's changed amazingly around here since my childhood. I had a friend who had SIX bikes stolen from El Cerrito Plaza alone; all locked. When I was a kid, parking your bike anywhere except the school bike rack was a practical guarantee of losing it.

These days kids don't even lock their bikes any more, and just leave 'em lying around everywhere. I don't know a kid who's had a bike stolen, other than Impus Major having his tricycle stolen 14 years ago.

Yes, I am indeed an old man talking about how crime in my town has improved since I was a kid.

You can spit out your drinks now.

Apparently some covens are into ritual sex, but Mrs Sunrise's is very conventional. So sexy stuff is purely metaphorical, like dancing around the maypole at Beltane.

And some bawdy joking, but that's just people.

Spoiler:
Yes, I am getting a huge kick out of disappointing you and Freehold. ;)

(Offers large drink and hug in whichever order.)

Sad to hear about your bike, Freehold. Had that happen, myself, many years ago.

*Loved* that bike -- a 1998 Marin Hawk Hill: chrome-moly frame, rapid-fire Shimano components, front shocks (which was *wildly* new to me, at the time, despite several years' offroading on ye olden Huffy), etc., etc., etc.

. . . but that was just for fun and getting around the college campus. Losing the primary ride for employment? Would have been much tougher to take.

Sympathies, chief. :(
