Maybe we are just not trying as hard with other vegetables. Also I feel you are not giving potatoes enough credit.
Can you make plastics out of taters?
You can save a country with them!

Yeah, but only if that country is Ireland. So, really, are they that good?

(That's a joke, you know. I have no problem with the Irish.)

Hmm I feel you should of used the disclaimer alias for that one.

Dislaimer: Vidmaster7 asked for this.

Well, crap. Should I switch this to the nekkid alias, or keep it on Disclaimer. Ummm.....

Nekkid Disclaimer: Vidmaster7 asked for me to get nekkid?

I mean I feel your being a little harsh on the post office. They really do some impressive things if you think about it. You write a letter put it in a mailbox and shortly there after some specific person across the country receives it. That's pretty impressive.

Oh snap we caught the disclaimer nekked!

I've had that problem too. do I switch to the nekkid alias or keep with the intended one?!?!?!

I agree, they provide an important service. It's just that I don't necessarily rely on them to be on time with things. I've even had Next Day mail (important documents) not show up for 3 business days on several times in the past. No weekends or holidays getting in the way of delivery for them either.

I know sometimes you can pay for express shipment and if it doesn't make it in that time they refund you the cost.

I didn't pay for the Express Shipping this time, it's their "Amazon Prime 2-day Shipping" and I'm on the free trial, so I'm not worried about getting a refund. I just want my stuff. And if you promise me it will be here on a certain day, I want it on that day. If they had said "Early next week, we'll tell you more once the USPS (or UPS, or FedEx, or whomever) actually has the package" like when I order from other places I wouldn't mind. But when you tell me "You'll get it on Monday. We promise." then you damned well better get it to me on Monday.

Enough about that though. Anything else to talk about tonight? How about food. I made chili for dinner this week. It's pretty good. I put 6 large jalapenos into it so it's got a nice bit of heat, but not too much.

Oh I have amazon Prime its nice I like. You will most likely have your stuff by monday then.

I made chicken fettucini alfredo.
Its the home made alfredo sauce that really makes it.

Did you get to try that recipe for the french dips I gave you. OOh in fact I think I will make the tommorow.

I haven't tried it yet. I've been trying to use up the meat in my freezer before I buy more. Still have some pork steaks and ribs to get through. I think there are a couple of chicken breasts as well. I made the chili to use up the chuck roast.

Is there a particular type of roast you like to use? Chuck probably wouldn't work, of course. Eye of round maybe? Or a loin roast?

I used a chuck roast in a crock pot.

2 pound

Really. I'd have thought a chuck roast would fall apart too much. Wouldn't really be able to get good slices. But it would have all that good fat to render down into the jus.

And I'll be cancelling the Amazon Prime pretty much as soon as I have my item. I did the 30 day free trial a couple of years ago, so they offered me a 1 week free trial when I placed this order. But I rarely order anything online, and even less often from Amazon, so it's not worth it to me to pay for a membership.

It does kindly fall apart. I shred it like a pork roast. I like it that way myself.

The Exchange

My brother said what he missed about Singapore was the efficiency of the government services. He’s still waiting for his hard copy driving license to get to him.

Also I had my phone sent for repair (it had blue lines on the screen and was awfully dim), then I had problems accessing my google drive to get back all my contacts, thus the absence. Now I’m stuck with an itty bitty little screen for the next week. At least, look on the bright side, I have a replacement phone while they repair my phone.

6 jalapenos is too much for me. I’m not good with spicy stuff. Jalapenos also fall into the slow burn category. They may not feel like much when you first eat them, but the heat increases as time passes.

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast is amazingly good. I am listening to Blueprint for Armageddon. It is about World War One. I highly recommend it.

It was 6 jalapenos in about a gallon of chili. It's actually a little mild for me, but I like the slow burn. And when you bite into one of the slices of jalapeno you get a nice spicy sweet burst. It's good.

I've been experimenting with red curry. It has both immediate and slow burn depending....

I also didn't sleep well last night because I was coughing and now I'm waiting to see a doctor. I bet it's flu.

And my phone is showing blue lines. I hope I don't need to get it replaced but I'm not optimistic.

Well I’m already rather tired, so a depressant would just splat me at this point of time.

Being passed out for the full duration of being sick is really the best thing. At least that's how I remember it I haven't been sick in a long long long time.

Drejk, I sent you the PM!

Maybe posting this way will help?

Hi, all, super busy, sorry, gotta go, daggummit why does getting ready for my kids' and wife's school take so much tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime...

Vidmaster7, are you an Annoy-o-Tron?

Think Vid is, at the very least partially right. Take the time you need to get back on your feet.

Edit: Axle 'Black Paws' the stable-cat is maou-ing at me like there's no tomorrow...
Think he want me to him some attention instead of shape-changing cats almost on the other side of the world ^^.

I just look for any excuse to post Beatles lyrics.

And joined the discord channel...

Throat still itchy. Next dose of antibiotic incoming soon.

Make sure you take all them antibiotics so you don't give rise to any sort of super bacteria.

We saw two bands - an acoustic punk duo and a bunch of lads doing 90s-00s pop classix in a sort of Buzzcocks style. Not too bad.

There was an advert for a residential mediumship course in November on the wall of the hotel when we got in - £255 for the whole thing, which also includes a turkey and tinsel weekend and a visit from Santa.

At midnight, we had a glass of champagne and I gave her her presents. She burst into tears when I handed over the stainless steel butter-dish.

This morning, we went for a walk along the seafront, sometimes in torrential rain, sometimes not, and then I went home, did some sword & buckler drills, and am now playing a sort of modern day RPG where we're UN special agents. It's pretty good.

what did you get her?

A Vietnamese cookery book.

Some organic soap bars
A scarf
And the stainless steel butter dish of her dreams.

I've also got her the new Kamasi Washington album, but I'll have to email that.

Four more days...

(to playtest)

Vidmaster7 wrote:

Yeah, I know. I spoke to the doctor about minimum time - it's a total of six days, and the antibiotic supply is for eight days.

*sigh*

I think that in the last fifteen years I had antibiotic twice or three times maybe... Including once from dentist.

Vidmaster7 wrote:

Not a fan of curries.

Curies, on the other hand, I'm okay with.

Drejk wrote:

*tests play*

Hmm. Turns out the audience didn't like it. Maybe I should have "borrowed" less dialogue from Shakespeare. Or maybe I should have "borrowed" more.

*starts rewriting play*

I've had a thought on the Amazon shipment. Perhaps I've been mistaken in thinking they would hand it over to the USPS in Chicagoland. Maybe they're bringing it down this way using a different service and are going to hand it over to my local Post Office. That would explain why the tracking still says that the USPS has not received it yet. But they should hurry up. It would still need sorting/processing before delivery.

And I want my package.

Okay. I've got this. She's going to listen to the album while wearing the scarf and using the butter dish while cooking Vietmanese and then cleaning up with the soap.

Now, why are you dating a cannibal?

No Gran we aren't allowed to do the cannibal thing anymore.

I think you'll find that it is less that we aren't allowed to and more that we have been asked not to. Also, I forgot. Sorry.

Its also an episode of twilight zone. (but ofcourse you knew that. hence your quote)

I think the Simpsons did it too.

That's one of those things directors still put in movies to reference but its to the point its so old hardly anyone gets the reference anymore.

Like soylent green and clockwork orange. (I did go back and watch all those mostly because I had finally heard where the references were from but really kind of meh but I can see why they were good for the time.)

One of my favorite episodes of the twilight zone. I never miss an opportunity to quote it. Only the astronauts and the monsters are coming to maple street outrank it.
