Who you callin' crazy? Is it me? It better not be me...okay, okay, somewhat accurate.

Well, my string of childhood therapists thought so.

Hokkaido trip:

Day 1:Flying. Drank a red wine and a beer. Beer was making me bloated at high altitudes which leads me to think I shouldn't drink beers at high altitudes. But I slept decently for a plane, better then the return trip.

Day 2: We went to Gorokaku Park. It hosts a rebuilt star shaped fort that the design was supposedly given to the mayor after they gave aid to French sailors ill from scurvy. Pics here

I just got off the plane so I was in jeans and a T-shirt, bloody cold it was even after I put on my grey wooly coat.

Hokkaido is a hard place to dress for. Too many temperature variations. Like last few days I was fine in T shirt and jeans and no coat.

At night we went to Mt Hakodate to see the Night scene, which was beautiful, but also freaking cold. And that was with long johns, long sleeves, winter pants, grey wooly coat, gloves. That's about as much cold weather gear I brought and I was still shivering.

Day 3:

Hotel had private hotspring in room, so I had a good soak.

We went to Matsume castle where cherry blossoms were all a bloom.

In the afternoon we went to Esashi where they gave us a performance then we went to the museum to see the floats they made to pray for a good catch. They'd have a float festival about twice per year.

Day 4:

We went to Lake Toya to see the crater lake. The short climb up the tartan track just proved how out of condition I was getting. It was actually tiring >< I wasn't sure if it was due to the altitude, or I don't do stairs well(but better then Hi anyway), or all the cold weather gear I was wearing. It was quite foggy that day, giving the lake an ethereal, mystical quality, but not so good for seeing far.

We then went to Usu Zenkouji to see the shrine there.

Day 5:

We went to hells Valley to see the hot springs. The place smelt sulphuric and the stones on the ground were actually warm from geothermal energy. We even managed to spot a Hokkaido deer.

Then we went to milk cows and make butterscotch in a farm.

Day 6:

We went to shiroi Koibito park, where they make cookies with chocolate inside and other confectioneries. They also explained how chocolate was made, as well as how their cookies were made.

Day 7:

Free and easy. We visited the nijo market where I loaded up on cans of bear, seal and deer meat. We ate crab at kanihoke, then visited the former governors office. . Then headed back to catch flight out of Japan.

Day 8:

Tried to sleep on board plane with little success. Maybe I should have asked for drinks...

Nope; you didn't violate a single FaWtL rule; in fact such posts are encouraged here!

We have several people who would be VERY interested, but TacticsLion has been avoiding us for a while 'cause he's busy. I'll go poke his tail and point him your way...

I stepped in block adhesive at some point today and then I've been walking on gravel all day so I essentially asphalted the bottom of my shoe.

I wonder if that will make me faster or just really good traction.

I guess I found a cheap way of preserving the life of my shoes.

When you're 5'7" with size 12 shoes you go through shoes quickly.

Not so fast, but with heavy kicks!

It's a pretty thin layer, no extra weight, which is why I didn't notice all day as I used the adhesive in the morning.

I'm here because it seems very chill and friendly (plus the most popular thread in the section), and I am a greedy knave seeking to benefit. I've been trying to check for interest in critiquing a silly game I am currently making. I posted in Off-Topic Discussions, because I don't think the new website has a better section (like the old Homebrew one or something similar). Less than a day, and it has already dropped off the list of recent posts with no responses.

Maybe however many of those who've seen it weren't curious. Though that was likely the case, I don't think a lot of people saw. If you'd like to give a strange tabletop RPG a tongue-lashing for how bad it is, feel free to express interest here. If not, no need to feel any obligation. Not a whit.

Here’s a sample of a meal in Hokkaido, in counterclockwise order starting with the left big bowl:

Rice steamed with abalone

Pickled Herring roe with seaweed

Salmon Roe

Rice cake with Sakura flower

Fermented Rice

Herring Roe and Cod Roe

Whale Soup with tofu and local vegetables

Braised Daikon Radish, Steamed Snow peas, Sh*take Mushroom, and Tofu Puff

Big bowl in centre:

Tofu with homemade glaze

It looks like the forums don't like mushrooms. :D

The forums censors just can't take piles of excrement.

More likely, the filter just scans input looking for offensive words, even if those words are part of a larger inoffensive word. I've seen it before, where a filter censored out the word Saturday because the middle four letters made an offensive word.

No, screaming into the phone for help is optional, as is the use of foul language. :D

No, that's generally the number one reason I have to rebuild things.

Geographical proclivity towards alcoholism and overcompensating with overly large motor vehicles and whatnot.

About to go home. Good night, everyone.

The good news:
I have my third and final interview tomorrow morning with a good school where the director has been avidly pursuing me and will probably make me an offer tomorrow.

The bad news:
It's in Texas, and, while it would probably be a really good move for our family (kids in the same town as 3/4 living grandparents, happier school environment, big ancestral house, better cost of living), it will absolutely devastate Hermione, all the children's godparents, and my own family (who are currently only a six-hour drive away).

So... yeah.

If you have 2 choices, and 1 of them is taken anyway, you now have 0 choices.

Being both cool and hot makes you extremely hot, which is really cool.

Walking at 3mph is calming and enjoyable, but driving at 3mph is f%#&ing annoying.

Biscuits and Gravy is milk, butter, and flour on top of milk, butter, and flour.

It would be great if Windows could tell us in advance whether an update was going to take 5 minutes, or an hour.
