Y'know, being NICE to people ALWAYS pays off.
The IT guy who got my Service Request (SR) knows me. Knows how technical I am. So he just gave me a call.
"Yeah, we don't support dual monitors. But look at the back of your docking station. See how there are two separate panels? Well, maybe, just maybe, those two panels attach to separate boards so using an adapter to connect to the first panel, then connecting the second monitor the second panel might convince your laptop that there are two monitors... I don't see another way it would work..."
Of course, it worked like a charm, and my dual monitors are up and running... violating our company's bizarre "one computer, one monitor" policy.
I am SUCH a rebel...

I've never heard of it. :-)
New Zealand series all about the Norse gods in modern day New Zealand (as of, like, '11-'13) but... they don't really know or understand everything about it at all as they don't incarnate until age 21. Kind of like perpetual reincarnation (sort of).
It's... quite good, so far, but it's got its ups and downs. I recommend it. There are definitely cultural differences, but it's a really solid show nonetheless.
EDIT: It's like a soap opera, but with better television show sensibilities and about Norse gods.

My company has an "everybody gets two monitors" policy, and I don't know if I could ever go back to just one.

I'm a dual monitor guy myself though I am shooting for a set up like in the movie swordfish

Speaking of work.
I get to work tonight, yay!
Or something.
I anticipate a lot of surly people upset that we don't have an infinite supply of school supplies, which we are most likely out of, except Paw Patrol, we're never out of Paw Patrol.
Also Lego blind bag gropers, we always get a lot of Lego gropers on Thursday.

Cell phone broke today. Doesn't recognize I have an SD card or a phone charging it, so that's fun. Did everything possible for it including factory reset, and it's still being a pain.
I know that pain. My s3 just died one day. No warning. Just turned off and refused to turn back on. Any insurance?

Until (and unless) you really need it and it's really helpful.
(It varies by insurance and situation. In many cases, you're right, tgtg.)
But then they just jack up your rates immediately after to compensate, regardless of the type of insurance!
If instead of so many mandatory insurances, such as homeowners, automobile, and now health for f**~'s sake, we took that money as individuals and put it into an account that you could only withdraw from when you absolutely needed it, you'd spend significantly less...and maybe be able to actually withdraw and use it when you're elderly!

I have never known anyone who had their life insurance premium get jacked up after they made a claim.

We should ask Aberzombie.

Can we get synthetic teeth implants already or better bloodstream full-body-repair-and-maintenance nanies already, so we don't have to bother with such trivial details in our lives?
Seriously.
Why is it that sharks have the gift of continual tooth-regrowth, but we don't? Get on with the crispring already, I'm ready for my pointy teeth!

Oh! So they're cleaving close to the source material!
(Not that the poetry is stupid, but the people making decisions often really, really, really are.)

On The Almighty Johnsons:
I mean, it can't be only me. I know it's obvious she's "the Frigg" here.
The way the show is set up is... interesting, and distinctly modern.
It layers the heavy-handed trope of, "And so it was" all (stereo)typical of tv shows - whether we know what they're called or not, we all know the tropes. Then it works to subtly subvert them... buu~uut, because we've all lived in a post-80s (really post-60s-and-70s, but the less said about that, the better) society, we all know the subversive anti-trope tropes. Because we've lived in the post-nineties and post-aughts we've gone right through those times and their attempts at subversion and reinvention, and so now we're all familiar with the new formula.
And TAJ works this formula well.
So, on the note of the spoiler, that formula seems pretty clear.
They do, of course, try to obscure that, what with the episodic nature of the Quest and its dramatic interruptions, and the big thing with,
... but, in the end, they go back to the core concept they're clearly (to my mind) leading up to.
Their attempts at diversion aside, however, it all seems to be lining up... except, no. Nope, no, nu-uh. Something's... off.
In a very meta and cynical way, I feel the story is going too... properly. Not because it's wrong for a story to go this well; not because a story needs more empty conflict. No... because it doesn't feel like - and bear with me - it doesn't feel like it's had enough executive meddling. See, it feels like the story of the Quest could be headed toward a reasonable conclusion - not a definitive one for the series, but a reasonable one - and executive meddling is needed to add some unnecessary complication or plot twist that allows the series to continue lurching forward in a manner that is unpleasant for the series, quest, and fans, alike.
What's weird, is... I actually have just realized, just now, this is a writing style, now. And I don't mean that it's a writing style in the sense that I'm being cynical and true art is dead or whatever - I mean, I actually expect shows to have a cadence and pacing, a written act and plot structure, that shows signs of executive meddling. If it's not there I feel something is off with the story, because the story isn't being needlessly extended by complex plot-twists that have nothing to do with the original premise.
That is... really weird.
Anyway, here's hoping that things go well, but between realizing that it's about time for 'Zecs to meddle, and FH's forboding warning, and the source material, I'm looking forward to wwwwwhhhhaaaaaaaaccccckkkkkky antics!

Soooooooo...
EDIT: Crrrraaaaaaaap. Did she incarnate as a deity? And not the Frigg? >:(
Stupid exec-meddle.
But d'aaww, Ty-Eva, though messed up, are sweet. She's mentally unstable, but she doesn't want to be - it's sweet, in its own way. Here's hoping they make it through.

(It was almost certainly Anges - she's the only one who would and could be willing to do such a thing, though I haven't the foggiest of why she would. I am not happy.)
EDIT: Ooooooooooookay. Like, two minutes into the next episode and it was revealed it was her. Nevermind! No mystery. Move along.

She's totally a murderer, and thus awful in every way. She did it for her son, to save him and save his life - I get that - but she has no regret about the loss of lives.
EDIT: I want to be clear, I'm not apologize for her evil. It's evil. I'm just... I understand her motivations.
