There's the sheriff and deputy in Gravity Falls, but that's not a movie, though they totally should make a Gravity Falls movie.

I've got to say. I'm sorry that Kazzak (the dog) hasn't come back again after that one episode. He was awesome.

Hilariously appropriate topic to be naked.

Finished with Batman vs Superman, Pea Bear and I thought it was a great movie, I can kinda see where some of the criticism comes from, but it's way better than everyone (not here) led me to believe.

Lex Luthor was way over the top though.

Were you watching the "big" version on the DVD? I've been led to understand that it's much superior to the theatrical release by those who've seen both for some reason.

(Apparently, despite the DVD being longer and less edited, the theatrical version feels longer and less well edited - I'm guessing the latter was over-edited and that ended up making it feel more disjointed than ideal.)

Yeah; that's a big one right there.

The theatrical release of The Abyss left EVERYONE scratching their heads and saying, "WTF?!?!"

The "Director's Cut" version is one of my favorite movies of all time.

And I *still* won't watch the theatrical cut. It hurts...

What's the difference?

I seem to recall that the producers didn't like Cameron's overtly political tones, hence cut a lot of scenes with the aliens, or with Coffee being just a bit TOO cray-cray, so the "big finale" moment is kind of like 2001: A Space Odyssey: "What the heck was that?!?!? What just happened? Why?!?! What were they smoking when they thought this movie made sense?!?!"

The full version has an extra 40 minutes that sets up the ending so the ending makes sense. Otherwise, it's a huge, "Guh?"

Yeah, I couldn't make sense of The Little Mermaid either.

I'm pretty sure the king of the sea was banging the squid witch lady.

So, I am at work. Sick. But i couldnt take the day off because I was on vacation for the past 3 days. The fever seems to have broken, which is good, but i am still sweaty, achy, and coughing. Staying in the office away from other people today.

I know that pain. I recommend capsaicin in high doses. Whenever I have bronchial/non-stomach issues, I make myself "Hellfire Chicken" -- a concoction of my own making where the chili peppers nearly outweigh the chicken. Tons of vitamins A and C, and a LOT of sweating.

Makes me feel TONS better.

Good luck with that! We have all kinds of broken parts for all our appliances and vehicles (fridge drawers, washer handle, carpet cleaner part, bottom air flow panel of the Prius, a couple of hubcaps for the Celica), but the sheer price of such things prevents us from getting new ones.

The carafe on our coffee pot broke. A nice new glass pot? $25.

A plastic tab for my fridge? $60. A new part for my carpet cleaner? $130.

Seriously. Plastic is EXPENSIVE these days. So we do without...

I find Archer: Vice to be a simultaneous combination of better and worse than the previous seasons.

I think that it's more humorous in many ways - it's got better jokes in many ways. The meta-commentary is pretty solid, and the references to previous seasons are pretty funny.

There is genuine character growth and clever call-backs and interesting things like that.

On the other hand... they start off by trying to become drug dealers. That sets me up as extremely uncomfortable and makes me unlike all of them as a direct result.

That leaves me very conflicted as a result.

It makes it both the most mature and immature of the seasons at the same time. It's... weird. Very intelligently made, very well-written, and very clever. Certainly not as Miami drug-fueled-bad-guys as it seemed at the beginning, but not really good, either.

Of course, Archer leaves me conflicted in the same way, too.

Go figure.

Aaaaaand she's Archer's. That both does and does not surprise me.

Man, if you think the characters on Archer are morally ambiguous, you would absolutely, vehemently hate Always Sunny. They're all straight up evil.

A good reason for me to not to watch that show! : D

You absolutely have to watch The Gang gets Held Hostage though, an absolute classic episode.

Also The Gang Cracks The Liberty Bell

Or Fatty Magoo vs The Aluminum Monster especially since it has Cheryl from Archer in it. :-)

It's a great show, Cap, but seriously, what about Tac makes you think he would do anything but absolutely hate every one of the characters, except maybe Charlie who is only kind of evil but totally crazy (though really evil that one episode where he gets the girlfriend to make the waitress jealous)?

It's most assuredly not for everyone, and I would put serious, major money down that he would absolutely disdain every single character, especially after Frank joins the crew in season 2.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Because it's funny, Why wouldn't he like any of those episodes.

Humor alone isn't enough for some people. The guy almost dropped Archer because the characters are pretty much neutral. Everyone in Sunny is a horrible, horrible monster.

Kidlet and neighbor kid having a nerf fight. I'm having a headache. These two things are related.

I don't like evil people doing evil things.

I'm already morally conflicted by Archer - I find it unlikely that I would enjoy people being much worse.

As an example: I love Bruce Willis as an actor - almost every film. Couldn't stand The Jackle.

It's not about being criminal, it's about doing evil things (and being unpleasant people - the Archer cast manage to skirt a fine line, here, of avoiding being too unpleasant, though it comes very, very close sometimes, and does veer into the category of, "I really am uncomfortable, here.")

Anyway: I don't really have plans to watch it.

I went for a long walk. Along the way I passed a place where an old, ruined house was standing...

I was surprised to find it... No, not demolished - I'd be sad but not surprised - but it was renovated and looking as almost new. Now I wish I had proper camera in the past to make photos of it while it was ruin.

At least I discovered a small local forest. I lived here all my life and never went into that forest...

I've only seen a half dozen episodes of IASiP, but... it kinda fits with Dr. Geiszler as having drifted one-too-many times into kaiju brains and suffering massive mental trauma. The Pan Pacific Defense Corps brass retire him and witness-protection relocate him into a new life as Charlie.

Charlie Day isn't acting, I don't think. All his characters are pretty much the same, with Charlie Kelly just being an exaggerated version of the rest of them. I'm pretty much sure they just hand him some spray paint in a paper bag to huff, and stand him in front of a camera.

I think the same is also true of Jessica Walter and scotch.

EDIT - holy crap, she's 75! She looks amazing! I thought she was like 62.

Sorry you are so ill, Freehold. Clearly, Alton Brown has finally weaponized bleu cheese mold and infected you to test it. Like Nobody, I recommend spicy foods, but also with alcoholic beverages to disinfect your liver and blood.

This sounds like the setup/introduction to a horror story, especially your last line.

I'm getting better with time. The coughs only hurt my chest, not my entire body. And no fever is good.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I'm sure Joss Whedon is to blame for Fred Perry not showing up to terrorism, and zuckerberg was somehow responsible for the poor sales.

Is it irony if I spent the last three years recommending my favorite FLGS to people coming in to work looking for boardgames we didn't have, thus driving up their demand for boardgames so much they stop getting pathfinder books, to make room for all the boardgames.

Cause, it kinda feels like it.

Today, we make an epic journey to the Misty Mountains (Games) in search of the elusive hoard of current pathfinder books, and I suspect, the secretive meeting ground for PFS.

Should be interesting, as the main road that goes there is the same road my car was totalled, nearly six years ago, in the rain (like today) so it's nothing but obscure surface streets, which I know from driving a big ass truck for ten years. :-)

Impus Minor's game last night was cut unfortunately short by a desperate need for sleep by the adults at his table, but we had some epic hilarity as Impus Major's necromancer finally got to control some undead (with no Knowledge: Religion he was just burning charges hitting every unusual-looking creature we saw with Command Undead). What did he get?

A swarm, of course.

Cue an entire night of sending a swarm of undead minions ahead of us into every room to take care of whatever was in there. With all kinds of questions like, "Can my swarm carry me? Can they carry my stuff? Can I get them to all sing and dance in a chorus?"

Pretty hilarious...
