Hey.
I've been thinking, or maybe I should say my buddy baronarenhashevaum's thread got me thinking...
If we were transported to golarion, living the fantasy version of our mundane lives, what would FaWtL BE?
A social club?
A calistrian festhall?
The hallway in the oversized magical apartment building we lived in?
An adventurers guild (where I'm sure the worst thing we fought would be oversized insects...)?
Something else?

Since construction jobs in Golarion are a dead end and I now work in a toy store, I want to be Golarion Santa Claus, except with Gnomes instead of Elves that way I don't become a bloated melancholy alcoholic completely dependant on his awakened reindeer to get around.
Golarion after all is going for a more adult version of things, what's more adult then Santa Claus (after dark).

Definitely not the festhall. There's too much disparity in personality among FAWTLfolk to assign us all to a single unified deity's following. Especially one as divisive as Calistra.
Social club would be the most likely option, I think. Just a group of people getting together to shoot the breeze, complain about work, and socialize. Adventurer's guild would be the second-best option, but I'd imagine that less than half of us would actually qualify as "adventurers", though that might change if we found ourselves in a fantasy world like Golarion.
Granted, if I had the vote, I'd pick a different setting ;)

I guess I'm golarion's resident viking fanatic? But isn't there a whole culture called ulfden that I have yet to read about so it kind of renders the concept moot
(I'm still new to golarion)
Yes, the Ulfen are supposed to be the Viking equivalents. Almost all the northern-ish regions of Golarion are supposed to be mostly Ulfen humans in residence. So Lands of the Linnorm Kings, Irrisen, and so forth.

I think we would be better as adventurer tech support.
Orthos' shift:
O: FaWtL, how can we help you
Adventurer: oh gods oh gods oh gods
O: Sir, I'm going to need you to calm down.
Adventurer: is this FaWtL?
O: Yes sir, it is.
Adventurer: itsdarkinhereandidonthaveinfravisionandtheglowstickisntworkingandthereareko boldsinhere
O: *sigh* calm down sir. I need you to find a hard surface to smack the rod against so you can see...
Adventurer: o-okay it's on
O: can you see?
Adventurer: I can see!
O:Any idea where tour party is?
Adventurer: they're gone. It's just me.
O: sir, I'm sorry, but we need to get you out of there so you can have them raised.
Adventurer: they're coming!
O: okay sir, can you fight with your weapon and the glowstick and talk at the same time?
Adventurer: deargodstheyhavebugbearbackup!
O: sir, you have FaWtL. They don't stand a chance

I am amused that anyone suggests I will ever be doing tech support. Or any other job that requires me to talk to people on the phone.
Okaaaay....

FAWTL? Planescape. We could be the locals in one of many inns in Sigil. An establishment that offers a meal and place to sleep, while we, the regular patrons are sitting in the front and commenting about everything.

I'd probably be some kind of research wizard. Or witch. I have trouble making decisions about things like that. Occasionally my place of dwelling blows up at unpredictable intervals. The hazards of research. Thanks goodness for Make Whole. :)
Sounds more like you've been using Make Hole.

Yeah, that one keeps happening. It's amazing how many possible combinations result in that spell...;)

The Halls of the Serpent open doors on many worlds.

I know exactly what kind of adventurer I'd be: an incompetent one.
Bah. I will be a regular non-stated NPC.

Why be a normal, boring NPC when you can aim for greatness and fail spectacularly?

Benign frost giant?
In a non-golarion pathfinder campaign I played, santa was an orc! and I got to save him!
Then all a fellow party member wanted for christmas was his first level of assassin, so he murdered santa.

So, sometimes Shiro's player is an utter genius.
Many of you first saw me posting in my (in)famous Rise of the Runelords campaign where, much to all of our astonishment, Rae'Sheleth, drow paladin of Sarenrae(!!) became the best-played, most memorable, most incredible PC I've ever had the honor of GM'ing or sitting beside.
As part of Raesh's background story, GothBard had her make toys to give to children to make her less fearsome. As part of my story, they rescued a Varisian family whose children were Nictiana and Nickolai.
After the campaign, the party gained mythic tiers, and GothBard brilliantly decided to have Raesh unwillingly take "Divine Source".
So, we started Jade Regent, and Shiro's player wanted to play the now-grown-up Nickolai, now a paladin of Sainte Rae'Sheleth.
It took me a little while to catch on.
He started giving away toys made by Raesh. "Toys made by elves".
He was traveling to the Crown of the World. "The North Pole".
If he took mythic tiers, he would become "Saint Nickolai", or "Saint Nick" for short.
I finally caught on when they were in Kalsgaard and he asked whether the had any red furs for the trip...

New spam.
"I'm having a hot bath time waiting for you, cowboy!"
Hopefully there will be many, many opportunities to use that particular sentence in future.
In the Wordl Fawtl Inn, I would be a mediocre wizard sitting in a corner drinking and casting crap Charm spells for coppers, or perhaps a sleazy bard. Or both, on alternate days.
