Scarab Sages

I still long for the day when they'll just let me pick and choose exactly which channels and or shows I want.

Scarab Sages

And if I choose to watch it Nekkid, then so be it!!!

Scarab Sages

All right folk. Mini-blitz done for now. Gotta go get ready to face the day.

It looks like it gonna be raining... Should I go get some bread now and risk getting caught in the rain or should I survive without sandwiches till tomorrow?

Curses! Missed my breakfast window! Us cabbies, never a moment of forgiveness or pity.

One never survives without the nourishing qualities of the sandwich. Get the bread now, the pigeon commands it.

And speaking of Hero Lab - apparently, they are having problems with people who use Internet Explorer accessing the site to purchase new data packages.

Therefore, I now have Chrome for that.

I still like Firefox.
I've never tried Firefox. The only reason I went with Chrome was because the tech support person from Hero Lab put it first in the list of suggested alternate browsers.

I like how it works, and I dislike google and IE for privacy and security reasons.

Ditto, plus I dislike Chrome's layout. In fact, for the longest time I didn't upgrade Firefox past version 3.0 because everything in the layout and format starting in v4 started getting more like Chrome, hiding away the menus and such. Thankfully I've since found addons that let me rearrange Firefox to look like the earlier versions again.

What do you know, my body actually remembered I don't have to work and let me sleep through the night. :D

Same =) I woke up a few times off and on but surprisingly had no trouble getting back to sleep.

Being an old-fashioned bugger I still use DVDs as my main medium for watching stuff - keeping season three of Boardwalk Empire, season one of Mad Men, and season one of Lilyhammer for my vacation was a good idea.

Especially since today was the first day I woke up later than six in the morning... I watch one episode of each when I get up to have breakfast, and then head out on a 15-30 kilometer bicycle run.

So far it's a pretty good stay-at-home type of vacation.

Where in upstate NY?

Anywhere they have Hess gas stations

Bad link, but probably yes. Those pics of the mantis ripping into the hopper are creepy.

Makes me want to throw giant mantises into my next adventure.

Oh, and I'm in the Bronx. I think some kid's going to be upset when he wakes up in the morning to find his glass tank empty.

where in the bronx? I haven't been there in years.

The disgustingly affluent part of Riverdale. Seriously, I can't take a walk without turning green from envy!

AZ good to hear you are loving the move and congrats on selling. My wife and I are currently initializing preparations for moving within the next 18 months. Destination to be determined. I am hoping for Upstate NY or perhaps somewhere along Appalachia

Hope all is well folks

There's always Colorado and Texas. ;)

Alas, no Hess off the East Coast. But plenty in rural areas like Appalachia, or the Piedmont Carolinas, or upstate NY. I'd love to join the Houstonian throng of FAWTL, but that does not seem to be in the cards

You should, it's a great place if you've got a six-figure income! Van Cordtland Park is right across the street from my school, where I spend weekends hiding...er, I mean hiking. The frustrating thing is, the only subway goes directly south into Manhattan, so if I want to game I either have to risk the city buses (ugh!) or spend 40-90 minutes getting to another borough.

(Seriously though, I'm a hiker and I love this park!)

Getting down to the two day crunch, pretty much at a stand still until we pick up the moving truck tomorrow.

Dear Lord I will be glad when this is over and I can relax.... probably in about 2 weeks.

Sovereign Court

So, Friday afternoon, you want the pulled pork?

Scarab Sages

I'm brewing beer - as I type it's cooling off in preparation for transfer to the fermenter. Alas, it won't be ready for the big move. I'll have to buy some.

Scarab Sages

Methinks I bought way too much ice. But this is a good thing. I can keep it in the freezer until Friday and use it to ice down beer.

Damned sinuses woke me up, and now I can't get back to sleep. :(

I am sorta melancholic due to a discussion at another forum relating to deities and how they work in D&D / Pathfinder...

Trying to go back to sleep...

Take care.

Edit: Morning Icy!

Really? Back to work. I can think of a whole list of things I'd rather do today.

Top of said list: Go back to BED. :-/

I've never been a fan of the whole "cleric of a concept" thing myself. I really don't see the source of all their complaints about gods granting power. It works just fine for me. Methinks we have an issue of their own beliefs (or lack thereof if the case may be) grating against the inherent assumptions in D&D/PF, combined with a desire to overcomplicate things.

Don't stress over it. The big issue (IMO) is "if gods grant power why is magic based on the caster's ability and not the patron's?" and that is simple to explain: "the god grants the cleric only as much power as s/he's earned".

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

Late night, but worth it. If all went well, by sometime tonight or tomorrow I'll be watching my primary fermenter's airlock bubble away.

I wouldn't say that they're complaining. They just pointed out a flaw of sorts in how things work.

And really, I love the guys over at the Den, even if they behave differently from the people around here.

But the sooner you get up, he sooner this day starts. Sooner it starts, sooner it ends. Sooner it ends, sooner a new one begins. Before you know it, the Moore's will be here.
