Tropical Storm Force Wind Speed Probabilities - 120 HoursNote:These graphics show probabilities of sustained (1-minute average) surface wind speeds equal to or exceeding 34 kt...39 mph (tropical storm force). These wind speed probability graphics are based on the official National Hurricane Center (NHC) track, intensity, and wind radii forecasts, and on NHC forecast error statistics for those forecast variables during recent years. Each graphic provides cumulative probabilities that wind speeds of at least 39 mph will occur during cumulative time periods at each specific point on the map. The cumulative periods begin at the start of the forecast period and extend through the entire 5-day forecast period at cumulative 12-hour intervals (i.e., 0-12 h, 0-24 h, 0-36 h, ... , 0-120 h). An individual graphic is produced for each cumulative interval, and the capability to zoom and animate through the periods is provided. To assess the overall risk of experiencing winds of at least 39 mph at any location, the 120-h graphics are recommended.

Nuanced Enough? :)
Yes, much better.

I wonder if it's too late to get this as a Halloween costume...

Yes, indeed. Welcome to the thread!

While hitting the "random" button on Wikipedia, I discovered that, apparently, Ke$ha cites Fugazi as one of her major influences as a musician. I died inside. As of now, I am a dead person.
Surely, she meant Fugees, and someone misunderstood.

Good net!
That was last night, but I am ready to sign off again tonight. :D
Anyway, for those who looked at the Lattimore gif I posted, here is a mostly good news update.

Council of Thieves is never getting adapted for play because every time I start, my brain starts muttering, "Hey, you know what would be a fun one-shot?"
Granted, high level venerable-aged retired adventurers taking revenge on the neighborhood brats that keep TP'ing the retirement home would be fun.

Seriously, though, I walked into the apartment this afternoon, and saw that there was a s+*&-ton of water all over the kitchen floor. My roommate, sitting ten feet away in front of the TV, seemed not to notice. I asked him about the water on the floor, and he responded with surprise, saying that he just did the dishes.
Now, I don't know why neither of us had bothered to look at the cabinet under the sink since the cat b~@~% moved out, but this seemed to be as good a time as any. What we found included a mess of soaking wet cardboard, paper towels, and moldy SoCo bottles. The entire inside of the cabinet was COVERED in inch-long green mold. I'm pretty sure that the sink had been leaking into the space for a good six to eight months before being discovered, and had only now just begun to spill over.
Over the course of an hour, we cleaned out the cabinet, and I ended up tearing out most of the wood, including the cabinet bottom (held up by ingenious carpenters not with nails, but with two wooden blocks and a rusty paint can) down to the concrete underneath. Building maintenance has yet to return our calls.
Ever seen the movie "Falling Down"? That's about how I feel right now.

When I got up to get ready for work, I figured what the heck, I'll check to see if work has been called off despite Sandy having missed us by a lot. It has been raining since sometime yesterday, but not hard, although it floods easily around here. Mission Essential personnel only at NNSY as of 2200 last night but I found out this morning and now I'm up as of 0530. :(

Then you have something fancy and new that only cost $7.I check out my amazon.com wish list and update my paperback collection. I'm almost done with Sword and Sorceress, I need to finish off Shadowrun next. In between, I collect manga that everyone seems to have forgotten about but me- currently Cannon God Exaxxion. I am truly incensed that Dark Horse has left the last two volumes in Japan.
How many volumes are there? I have the first 4 but find them too dark for me.

That's awesome, but also reminds me I probably should at some point actually prep a game for more than 1 day. I don't think I have had more than 1 week to prep/map out a campaign for the last 4 campaigns.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy, rainy Monday! And I do mean rainy. I think it's been pretty non-stop since yesterday. Still, it's mostly been steady, and the winds isn't too bad yet.
Work is closed (except for mission essential personnel). Same with daycare. So the three of us are stuck here in the house.
It's gonna be a long day or two.

Took a peak at the weather.com storm tracker - looks like Sandy is keeping pretty much on track. She might have turned a bit earlier than originally expected, but only by a bit. Looks like the eye'll pass just south of Philly.
At the same time, it looks like it'll end up a bit stronger than they were saying yesterday. She's up to 85 mph sustained winds, and they say she might go as high as 90 mph.
Kid stuff.

Yeah, that'd be a Cat-astrophe!
