Hmmmm, Nekkid pain? Or Nekkid questioning?

Scarab Sages

Stayed up too late. First watched Aliens. Then I was flipping through channels and found this movie on HBO called Devil. Bad people trapped in elevator and one is the devil. Sucky flick, but I couldn't turn it off.

So I didn't get to bed until around 0130. Then at 0412, Charlie decided to be awake and pissed.

Took the boy to get his first haircut today. He did very well - no squirming or screaming.

I am currently sitting in a bakery called baked in brooklyn. It is amazing - on the other side of brooklyn for me, it was actually faster for me to take the train into Manhattan to get here than the bus across town (and I went to trader Joes to get two boxes of wine from Australia - 3liters each), and it is well worth the trip. Now en route to the Mermaid parade in coney island, where I will be awash in barely covered bodies, each attempting to look more like a merfolk than the person next to them. Gonna be awesome. Maybe even fawsome.

Or an anti-mermaid protective cup?

I had an encounter with 9 bears once. Or is that not the kind of bears you were referring to?

I need to spend more time in Brooklyn. Or more accurately, I ought to go to Brooklyn for the first time.

Which is more dangerous to my Ravenloft PCs? The ghasts, or their own crappy rolls?

F~*~ me. I fell asleep on the couch after putting some fries in the oven for lunch. I woke up to the smell of smoke, and my little girl happily playing video games oblivious to the cloud issuing from the kitchen.

So I'm home. Mermaid Parade was a bit of a bust as I had no phone service over there and I REALLY HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM. It was no fun riding the bus from one end of the route to the other, but there were a lot of kids running around on the bus and playing and several genuine Brooklyn scenes that helped me to chill a bit, so I was cool. Sitting down now enjoying some red wine, ciabatta bread(FOUR ROLLS FOR ONE DOLLAR, WHY DID I ONLY BUY EIGHT?!?!?!?!?!), and cheese. The bread is so delicious, I barely need the cheese. It's that good.
CH, I would take you here if it wasn't in the middle of nowhere. I'm only just getting in now, and I left the house at about 10:30. I don't know how long it would take without the stops at Trader Joe's and the Mermaid Parade, but it's the kind of trip that reminds you that Brooklyn was once(and should be once again!!!) it's own independent city.

I have never done anything like that before. Just so frikkin' tired this week, but I'm gonna kick myself in the ass over this one for a while. :/

When I was a kid, my step father bagged a pheasant hunting. He was so proud of it, one evening he decided to roast it for himself in the oven. Then he fell asleep. It was in the oven for about 4 hours. We kids were asleep, so it wasn't caught until my mom got home from working a B shift at the hospital (~midnight) and game home to find the house so full of smoke she couldn't see 2 feet in front of her face. The smoke got into everything - the drapes, the clothes, the furniture - everything. It took more than a month for the stink to go away. The pheasant had incinerated to a tiny lump of cinders.

If your fries were better than that, then you weren't so bad :)

Monty Python Australian Table Wines

Where are the wines from?

Barossa Valley wines are the oldest continious wineries the Barossa Germans are a little like the Pennsylvania Dutch exept their German dialect is Prussian/Silesian. It's not spoken as much anymore sadly. The wines from the Barossa are obviously German style wines and very highly regarded.

In the Hunter River Valley has the oldest tradition but in fits and starts and not with the same levels of skill of the Barossa until about 60 years ago. They have been building up a very nice range of wines. My favourite is the Briar Ridge Gewürztraminer.

Margaret River in Western Australia has some of the best wines. Very expensive.

Canberra is trying to start up some wineries but what I have had so far is like the city itself nice but a bit bland.

My guilty pleasure is the wines from a small town called Mudgee... They have excellent fortified wines and they have a couple of mead producers.

Before we had the Dwarflings Mrs 8D and used to get together with friends hire a mini bus and tour either the Hunter or Mudgee wineries. Mudgee had the best pubs and the best steaks.
