Filios |

Sunshadow: Good job with the descriptions. I really had no need of the map, but thanks for putting it together.
Morthos, let's do it. Darren and I will lead the way, as usual. By the way, Darren, Solomon is right...just Filios is fine. If you have properly gathered yourself Petvar, shall we proceed?
Filios heads carefully down the 90 foot hallway to the sets of opposing three doors. He checks the floor and walls for traps.
Perception (Traps):1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Provided that I do not find anything, and nothing interrupts continuing...
Filios and Darren arrive at the first door on the left. Again, with aid of Darren's light source, Filios carefully examines the first door for traps and to determine if it is locked.
Pereception (Traps):1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Filios |

Gentlemen, the doors are all clear. However, this middle door here is locked. Let me see what I can do..
Filios bends his attention to the center door, and its lock. He sheathes his weapons and takes out an oil skin, carefully unrolling it. Inside are gleaming tools of his trade. He selects the proper tool and sets to work on the lock.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Petvar Tarmikos |

"If there is nothing further to be gained in this room, by all means, let us go to the next." Turning to Darren, "And son, down here, the monsters don't care if you are sir, or mister. Please, call me Petvar."
"My only suggestion is that we take these rooms one at a time. No need to be trying to fight off more than one nasty at a time."

Between the arcane lock and the very high quality mundane lock, Filios figures out very quickly he will need a lot more practice and a means of dispelling magic before he can open this particular door.

Biers of solid gold encrusted with glittering gems lie against the walls of this chamber. Golden candelabras stand nearby, empty of candles, and the walls depict a glorious afterlife filled with riches and luxury, painted in bright pigments and gold leaf. The room is the same dimensions as the last one, with the long side parallel to the hallway again.

Solomon Wise-axe |

My metagaming knowhow suggests that if it was an illusion, he would have rolled Will saves for us. Could be wrong though.
Knowledge Religion 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 to figure out which 'reward' this room might be associated with from the afterlife depiction? If I had to guess, Id say gluttony or sloth, but thats just off your description.

Filios |

The real question is, can we take this stuff? Gold is gold no matter how thin the plating, and I believe that we were specifically instructed that we could abscond with anything so long as it did not belong to the Pharasma faith. This stuff is so old that I truly doubt that it does. I am for taking what we can without wasting too much time here. Thoughts?

Darren Roy |

"I'm definitely on the lookout for treasures, but these are heavy items, and the gold is thin. We could probably chip the gold off, but that will take time. If the rest of the crypt comes up empty, I'm willing to come back and chip away here, but I think that we should see what the rest of the crypt has to offer before we break our backs here."
At least, that's the way I read it. Maybe someone can do an appraise check to gauge how much actual gold is here. Fireball would probably be a more efficient way to get it off, but we don't have that capability.

Petvar Tarmikos |

"I guess there are two questions that come to mind. First, is it more valuable as an Ancient Thassilonian relic or as just gold veneer? Second, how long would it take to remove the veneer and how much would we get? Okay, I guess that was three questions."
I would agree with Darren, its probably not worth the effort.

Solomon Wise-axe |

"Does it matter if we take it now though? If it's sat here this long, I don' think it's gonna disapear before we clear this place out. Let's just get on our way, and remember to come back before leaving the crypt. Once we leave the ossuary, we can figure out how it's worth more, as an artifact or as gold plating.
I say leave it for now."

Filios |

Filios looks around the room with disappointment.
So be it...let's get moving. Darren, shall we?
Filios heads out of the room and across the hall to the first door on the right, which is open. After waiting for the remainder of the party to join him, he cracks the door and peers inside.
Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Morthos von Janderhoff |

Regarding the 'Greed' Room:
"A moment if you please. I wish to make sure of this room before moving on..."
Morthos will do a quick Detect Magic scan of the room, as well as look for any sign of another word carved somewhere...
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24.
He will also try to see if there is anything of immediate value in the room...
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15.
Once that is done, he joins Filios at the first door on the right...

sunshadow21 |

Morthos, it looks like it would take about 10 hrs to get all the gold veneer off for a grand total of a 100 gp. You see nothing further in this room.
As for the next room:
This room's contents are completely destroyed beyond all recognition, and ancient dried bloodstains still mar the floor and wall carvings.
I'm doing these randomly so if you're getting bored, don't worry, the fun ones are coming.

Morthos von Janderhoff |

Morthos will still engage in a Detect Magic sweep of the room, just in case :-)
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16.
Do we have any inkling which 'sin' the destroyed room was connected with?
Assuming that he turns-up nothing...
Morthos turns to Petvar with a smile.
"Well then, shall we move on to the next set of doors?"
Starting with the door on the left, of course.

sunshadow21 |

You have yet to identify a room with envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, and wrath. At this point, you should be able to figure out which one this is.The middle door on the left is the one that Filios could not unlock.
Seeing this room filled with pure destruction, the party quickly realizes that anything of value is probably destroyed. They are also getting the impression from what they have seen that these rooms seem very similar to the embalming rooms up in the cathedral that they saw on their tour, with each one seemingly employed by followers of the different runelords.
The party still has the middle right, the far left, and the far right door that they haven't examined yet.

Filios |

Filios stands next to Darren, ready to peer in first when the door is opened, and he will enter the room right on Darren's heels with both weapons drawn.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Filios |

Filios whispers to the group.
Okay, gentlemen. There is activity behind this door, I am going to swing it open on three. Let's do this..one, two, three...
Filios swings the door open and follows darren into the room ready to attack!

When you post, please put round number, hp information, and any active status effects you might have.
Filios, as you open the door, a nasty looking crature strikes out at you with claws and teeth, clearly prepared for you to open the door. Both of the claws catch you, dealing six damage, as you take in the horrifying sight.
claw 1 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
damage claw 1 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
claw 2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
damage claw 2 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Human-sized, the creature in front of you has a perfectly formed and anatomically correct female human torso, but any resemblances end there. Its arms are unnaturally long and end in three wickedly curved talons. Its lower jaw splits into two monstrous halves lined with sharp teeth, below bulging red eyes.
Right now, Filios, Darren, and Solomon are in melee range with it as it stands in the short hallway section of the room that you have come expect.

ROUND 1, Current HP: 5, No Effects
Arrrrgh!
Filios screams in pain as he takes a five foot step to eventually obtain a flanking position with either Darren or Solomon, and he attacks with both weapons.
LS ATT: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
LS DAM: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
SS ATT: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
SS DAM: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

This is how I pictured you standing based on your descriptions; if you want to switch places or otherwise adjust, let everyone know.

Filios |

Sorry...redo of ROUND 1 based on positioning on map. Current HP: 5, No Effects.
Arghhhh!
Filios attempts to tumble through the monster's space and occupy the square behind the monster.
SUNSHADOW: I do believe that this will be the extent of my actions. If successful, I do not believe that I can make even one attack with one weapon. Please confirm.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Solomon Wise-axe |

Current Position works for me, though I think from now on it would make more sense for Petvar to take the front line, while I stand immeditely behind front-liners with my longspear, unless someone else wants to use the same tactic, and I do front-line.
Also, I'd give bullrushing a shot if we are able to do it in such a tighly packed area, Darren, though I should wait to find out Petvar's actions before doing my own rolls.

Filios |

[ooc]Positioning is fine by me too. For future reference, I agree with Solomon, but I think Darren works fine at front line, and while exploring, I would be up there with him, I could go in right on his heels, which is my intent. Petvar may want to be in a position to use his bow for a ranged attack first. I thought that was his intent this time, but I do not know if that will always be the case moving forward.[/b]

Acrobatics: 1d20+8
With that roll you are stopped dead in your tracks, since you fail to meet its CMD, and you are trying to go directly through its square. I would say you still have a standard action, since the acrobatics would have been your move action.

I'll leave that up to the party to decide future arrangements.
