For who is better?

Gamer Life General Discussion

Hello
In a campaign of Pathfinder of five characters, there is a Cleric Dwarf with a charisma of 7 (the player has prevailed in other stats the higher throws), and there is a paladin with 18 of charisma (has also a 18 at Str, the thers are 13 and a 11 at intelligence).
The group loots a cloak of charisma +4, so the question is: For who is better have the cloak? The Clerc Dwarf or the Paladin?
thanks for your answers

I would let the Paladin have it. For the dwarf cleric, it would take a very low stat, and make it average and I don't believe will effect channel energy much at all. For the Paladin, it is taking a great score and making it awesome. He would get +2 to all saves, Smites, Lay on hands, bonus spells, and probably more.

Kratzee is right. A Paladin uses CHA for a lot more than a Cleric and it would help for him/her in more ways. Now obvioiusly it is up to the players and what they want to do, but looking at it objectively, give it to the Paladin.

And I'm curious. Which one are you, the cleric or the paladin? And who actually got the cloak?

I´m the pally, and the cloak has it the Cleric Dwarf. Decision of the group. They said that this manner the dwarf can/or cure/turn undead two times more. I haved said the same arguments than Kratzee (as nearly all divine objects goes to the cleric).

It's not unreasonable to give it to either character. But in the case of giving it to the dwarf, it may enable a resource that would otherwise be pretty much non-existent compared to enhancing one you already have a substantial amount of. I find it's usually more valuable to spread around the resources than concentrate them.

As gamer, I would prefer to give a +4 of wisdom to a cleric than to a paladin. And + 4 charisma to a pally.

Wis is for clerics, cha is for paladins. Wis/Cha items are for clerics.

So you say that wis or cha items are for clerics?

The pally should definitely get the cloak. It's not your fault your crappy cleric only dumped 7 pts in a key stat, bumping it up to 11 is negligible compared to the advantages you would receive. The ONLY reason the group wants the cleric to have it is because THEY want more healing, rather than allowing you to have something cool. This is a totally bogus decision, shame on those players.

Paladins get waaaay more use out of CHA than clerics, by a huge margin.

So don't paladins get a lot more from such a charisma bonus item?

So the cleric with the charisma penalty gets all of the divine magical items?

So what magic items does your paladin have at the moment out of curiosity?

don't give the CHA item to the cleric

give it to the paladin

here is what the paladin would get

the paladin can heal too. 2 lay on hands or 1 channel

and gets a save bonus

a bonus to several key social skills

extra spells of which can be used to provide that needed edge in times of desperation

Extra to hit bonus when smiting

and lay on hands also comes with mercies, unlike channel.

here is what the cleric would get

2 extra channels

social skill bonus

and from what i heard, i can assume the cleric is really decked out in magical gear. especially with the party's potentially twisted sense of "Divine" Magical items. a charisma enhancing item is neither a relic nor holy symbol. and is thus not a "Divine" item. what's next? is the cleric going to get that magic belt of physical perfection because it's buckle looks like a crucifx?

think he meant items that grant both Wis and Cha. like the headband of mental prowess or whatever it is called.

Curious, did you intend for your character to be a two weapon wielder or was that just luck of the draw with finding magical items?

Sorry got a little off track there, so what does the dwarf cleric currently carry that you know about?

I wanted to be a Two weapon wielder.

Don't remember what has the cleric.
