I wish there were potions that had a permanent affect on players or creatures. Alot of fantasy works have them. I wish there was a Pathfinder equivalent. They could have costs comparable to unslotted wondrous items, but only one effect. Say a tonic, salve, serum, etc... Have a feat exclusive to the alchemist or witch for creating them. Have it use alchemy with a craft DC or a spell. There must also be a limit to how many could be used on a creature.
examples:
Salve of Natural Armor: Bonus increase to natural armor. Creation Craft: alchemy DC 20 + bonus or barkskin Price Bonus squared x 4,000 gp(same as unslotted wondrous item)
Low Light Vision (Ex): Grants low light vision. Creation Craft: alchemy DC 20 or light Price 2,000 gp
Would be neato to be used as an alternate way of boosting a mount, familiar, or companion instead. Different abilities or bonuses could be given as the player levels or the creature increases. Could also be used to apply templates to a creature.
Off to work on developing for my campaign.

I like the idea, I feel like after the first little bit for craft alchemy it really tops off and falls over. I like the idea that for higher end stuff you could do something like this, except to make it permanent I would say 25+caster level for the creation. Permanency is a serious deal. I would assume that its much harder to make it into a salve instead of a mere potion.

Does anyone read the spell Permanency. It really does not have the power it use to have. They added in limits on who it can effect (caster only for the good stuff). And only a few spell on others.
Any other spell, not listed in the spell description, is based on the DM only homebrew world option. Therefor Not by RAW.
......
Really i like permanent potions.
Everyone else will argue against them because they have the word "Potion" listed in the name and description. Citing the Brew Potion feat.
......
NOT BY RAW
I think you can get around this by adding in another item creation feat.
Example: Craft Arms and Armor, Brew Potion.
Make a potion, that lets you permanently enchant a natural attack, as if it was a magical weapon.
Brew Potion = Fluff
Craft Arms and Armor = Rules used to create the enchantment, as listed by the rules. (( remember natural weapon do not take up a slot = so cost is doubled )).
......
Brew Potion, Craft wonder item
Brew Potion = Fluff.
Craft wonder item = Rules used to create the effect.
Example = Able to cast Mage Armor on self, 3 times a day, for 1 hour per use.
....
Anyway its an idea, enjoy.
