Yep mums the word on any and all ideas you have, had, or submitted until the voting is OVER! A good piece of advice from Neil is to start thinking about your Adventure proposal as you're waiting for the next cut. I feel like I was scrambling this round and though I do like the challenge under pressure I'm gonna get to work on the next round... right after I finish prepping for gaming on Saturday!
Maps, monsters, moolah, Mt. Dew, check.

Done, finished, finito, kaput. My co-workers thought I was nuts as I brought in the core book and APG over the last two days. But, lunch is an extra hour I can be reviewing the rules, tweaking grammar and word choice, etc. Reviewing the rules is never a bad thing, as I have been reminded in my item's thread. ;) I've done my best, so we shall see what everyone else thinks.
Good luck to all.

Hmmm. I had planned on posting a rewrite of my wondrous item. You know correct it and clean it up based on the feedback I received. Maybe I shouldn't.

Go ahead and do it: I'm going to be taking a second look at my item as well.

Okay, I submitted my round 2 entry last night and I have to know if anyone else was dumb like me...
(Wavy lines as we go to flashback~~~)
I get my entry perfect in Word, print it out and read it over and over again. I nod and smile smugly at my own cleverness -- all looks great. So I head on over to the submission form and paste my stuff in, add the BBcodes, make a quick change and hit submit.
(~~~end flashback.)
*SPUTTER* Make a quick change?!? You moron, why would make a quick change at the last second? And in the submit window no less?!? Did you even keep track of the change you made? Go stand in the corner!
Arrrgghhh!

Hit the button on mine a little bit ago, and then had the shimmy shakes as the nerves hit ::chuckle::
You think you've got the shimmy shakes now? Just wait until the exit polls start going up and the actual voting public chimes in on your design decisions. You have no idea what kind of anxiety that's going to start inside you. ;-)

He's not even a little bit kidding. But it's completely worth it. If the wondrous item round is any indication of future performance, you guys are in for a great contest. I am really, really impressed with what I've seen so far. I wish you all the best of luck!

Well I meant this more for the current round and later. Our wondrous items are fair game, probably the only thing we could comment on.

Did the exact same thing, so you're not standing in the corner alone. I mean, it was a MINOR change, but it's bugging me that I didn't copy and paste it first.

I have a slight idea :) I think the hardest part for me is that even though my job is only part time, I leave for work at 2pm PST ... so it's always that moment of can I get the page to load before I have to run out the door LOL!

I made a small change in the submission window also, you're not alone. But I did update my word doc first and make sure spellcheck didn't red wavy line it before I clicked submit. My version and the submitted version should match.
I did the same thing with my wondrous item. I think that, for whatever reason, reading through it in a different format is just different enough that you catch things that you gloss over subconsciously when you're re-reading your word doc version for the 15th time.

Eh. You call it anxiety. I call it slow, soul-crushing, alcoholism-inducing despair. To-may-to, to-mah-to.

Yep, all that they said. Especially when you end up doing really badly in every measure on the boards. It doesn't really get easier the second time, either.

Still waiting on three more submissions (we have 33 so far)!
Somebody is cutting it close.
Is anyone else worried about the "twist"? I'm reluctant to put too much time into a villain, for example, if the twist is going to be that we have to use one of the archetypes submitted by another contestant. Or am I over thinking it?

Well, mine got in about the time you posted this, so that's perhaps one more! I was done last night but decided to sleep on it. Glad the submission went smoothly.
Now I get to wait 'til Tuesday to see if I'm even going to be in the competition. Better start practicing my Craft (Villain) skill anyway!
My guess is that the twist is to make a villain that would oppose one of the archetypes we made in some interesting way, rather than be built using one of them. That's what I would make it were I to run the contest, though it does seem a bit more challenging.

I know, it's hard without seeing what the rules will be. I'm just try to compile various monsters/races that interest me. Looking at villian entries from previous years, some of things you can start thinking about now are motivation for your villian and various plot hooks.

I got mine in a few hours ago, but then I just had to step away from the computer for a bit.
I have to say I felt a heck of a lot better going through this thread and realizing everyone else also spent the last day having to finesse the word count.
Still, in the end I think I managed to squeeze pretty much everything I wanted in.
Good luck everybody! I don't imagine I'll get much sleep on the 25th...

How's everyone going to relax this weekend? Anyone planning on playing Pathfinder? I was hoping too but one of my main player's is going out on a date on Sunday, our usual day (can you believe he would choose a girl over his Top 32 RPG Superstar GM?). So with that, I'll probably be catching up on neglected homework. I have to work on a self reflection speech about myself as a leader plus work on a leadership presentation about a moral leader (and it can't be my old paladin with the leadership feat). But, the good news is that I just got the Bestiary 2 to paw through and "The Town" came in today from Netflix. Oh, and Sam Adams Noble Pilsner is out in stores, so that's good too. I would go to the Meat House the next town over to pick up some of their steak tips but it's supposed to be in the negative degrees this weekend in NH.

I will definitely be playing some Pathfinder. My groups been on holiday hiatus since the begining of december! Saturday morning will be all about mapping the circus of a celebrity bard, building an encounter against the resident lion tamer and his pets (thank you Chronicles Pathfinder Podcast), and a chase through Kaer Maga's market with a Red Mantis assassin.

I'd love to hear some more about your circus adventure! My group played through one when the Carnival of Shadows rolled through Sharn in our Eberron game a few years back!
Our half-elf sorcerer decided to seduce the resident Elephant Trainer .. hey! She was a looker with her elven features and Mark of Shadow!
