Qadira Purple Worms

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

So in Qadira in the deep dessert, do they ride giant Purple Worms ?

Sovereign Court

Of course.

Grand Lodge

better than riding the miniature purple worms :)

Shadow Lodge

Is melange a popular drug in Qadira, popularly known as "spice"?

A miniature purple worm is probably the size of a horse.

I got those the last time I visited Sedeq... which is why you should only eat from a reputable food vendor.

I hear the Candied Miniature Purple Worms have a gummy flavor to them...

Although the deep-dwelling purple worm is the most common of its ilk, variant immense worms of differing colors dwell in other remote wildernesses. A sleek, mottled blue-and-green variant of the giant worm dwells in deep underground lakes or tropical seas (this variant loses its burrow speed but increases its swim speed to 40 feet). A deep crimson variant of even greater size dwells in remote badlands and rocky deserts (this variant is never less than Colossal in size).

I'm guessing the deep crimson worms are Dune worms.

I'm reading, again, the Runelord series of books by David Farland. He has a worm variant known as the "World Worm" who dwells deep in the earth near its core.

Makes me wonder if Golarion has such fire based variety, making its lair in some deep magma flooded cavern ... *ponders*

I'm on page 5 or so of the first book, and got distracted for months. Is it something I should make a priority to pick back up?

Sounds similar to Xotani the Firebleeder, that spawn of Rovogug.

It's certainly worth the read. This is currently my second time reading it.

Thoqqua with that Titanic template that makes things Colossal? Yikes!

Sounds like a dirty version of a midgard serpent !
