ROLG THE RED

From one side of the arena struts a tiny, not-quite-3 foot tall halfling. His clothes (monk's apparel, by the cut) is pure black, as is his hair, his eyes, and his fingernails... all in stark contrast to his pasty snow white skin. Strapped to his back is a black greataxe (sized for his tiny hands) and a crossbow (of a like size). He stops, looking around for his dwarven opponent as the announcer calls out.

"And in this corner, in the black... everything... is Shaye theShade! From.... well, it doesn't really say.... but looking to earn some coin and some blood in the crimson arena!"

The halfling gives an annoyed shake of his head to the announcement, pointing a tiny rude gesture in the direction of the voice.

Let's get this thing rolling!

Clad in bronze scale, gleaming in the arena light, the stout dwarf enters the ring, his keen eye transfixing the halfling where he stands. A sheaf of arrows, with vibrantly coloured flecthing, and a great, heavy limbed bow, announce his trade tot he gathered throngs.

And in this corner, looking like a PIMP, is Van, Just Van!!! Give it up ya'll!!!

Bring it :)

For Watchers:

Spoiler:
DM- We can try another site, but at best it will slow us down to 1 round/day. If you want, you can email them directly to me rpatrick_mccann at yahoo and I can DL them that way. It's not totally un-usable as is though.

Van takes in the dense foliage, and thinks "Huh, so much brush, be laihk huntin' deer. Better use tha broad haiyd then..."

As he moves 20' (to G16) he draws his bow, nocks the arrow, and then gives it a half draw, ready to launch steely death as soon as he sees the halflings dark form.

DM

Spoiler:
move 20', draw bow as part of move action, ready action to shoot, Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Are you goign to be rolling perceptions every round for us (since they're a reaction?)? or do you want us rollign them for you per post?

Should I be putting this stuff in the open? I want the benefit of as much guerilla action as possible.

Roger, the small map made it hard to see the bushes. Ok, Van moves to f15 and hides in the brush, keeping his bow ready if he sees Eben. ROLG THE RED

Sorry for the wait... vacation travel. I'l try to be more available today/tomorrow.

DM:
Shaye steps into the thick brush, moving as quietly as he can. On his way through, he draws a second scroll.

I'm not sure why, but between yesterday and today, the map isn't showing up for me anymore. Here's what i'm trying to do regardless. Move as far south-west into that brush. I want to end with a clear view of as much of the map as possible, but still be under the cover of the brush. Then, draw the scroll of Mage Armor.
Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22.
Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22.

Expeditious Retreat 9/10 rounds remaining.

HappyMonday!!! Lets kill soemthing :)

Van's fingers are getting sore from holding his bow string taught, but he knows sore fingers are better than death....

Round 2 summary

Van:

You move into the Brush and await for Eben to come into view.

map 3

Eben:

ROLG THE RED

Van, the Man... the Legend:
Peas and carrots! Peas and carrots!

I was just making sure i had up-to-date information to act on - since you went first and Ginger sometimes waits til we both act before resolving actions... something that leaves the person with 2nd initiative with muy falso informationay.

Love, Shaye

P.S. - I love your cool hat.

Eben

Spoiler:
Ha, you're my favorite you :)

Sorry for the Delay

Round 3 sumary

Round 4 !

Watchers:

DM

Spoiler:
Advance to F11, Ready attack, Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4, Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9, Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5, Stealth 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Van cast a wary gaze at the undergrowth, mindful that the little man can hide almost anywhere. His right fore arm is beginning to burn a little form maintaining the hold on his bowstring, and perspiration is making the arrows nock slippery, even to his trained fingers. Under his breath, he murmurs "all raight little fella, whair are ya?"

ROLG THE RED

DM:
Gonna have to leave the trees at some point, Shaye! the halfling thinks to himself, then follows suit by ushering a foul mist from the ground, guiding its formation through arcane hiss and circular gestures of his left hand. Once the black mist obscures his vision suitably, he moves northwest towards the next stand of trees with all the stealth he can muster.

Cast Obscring Mist. Then move stealthily to P-5 (I think.. that map is hard to read in it's minisculinity). That should be 4 squares straight left and one diagonal down-left.
Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16.
The mist will remain in place for 10 rounds... a 20 ft radius circle centered on the square where he cast it.
Expeditious Retreat - 7/10 rounds remaining.

Round 4 summary

Van:

You remain croutched in the brush waiting for your target, you do not see him, but suddelny on the other side of the bushes to your NE, a Pillar of Mist rises 10in to the air above the Brush.

Map 4

Eben:

As you complete your spell, the Mist rises 20 feet into the air, which is about a good 10 feet above the Brush. Surely you realize that Van can most likely see this. Weither tht is an advantage, or disadvantage... you are not sure...

Shaye opens with a move action to N-11, tryign to quietly cross the open ground.
Conditional action incoming...

If I detect that he's moved up into the bush with me AND he's within 15' of Shaye, Shaye will use Color Spray (DC 15) to try to incapacitate him.

If Shaye cannot detect the dwarf (or if he detects him back in that same bush as before), then he'll move in this specific order. M-12, L-12, K-12, J-12, H-12. If at any point along this path he detects the dwarf (or knows he's in danger of stepping into the dwarf), he'll stop immediately.

Round 6: move to i8?

ROLG THE RED

DM:
Using my rolls from above. (Stealth = 23, Perception = 20).

Shaye stalks through the undergrowth once more, inwardly grinning at his loud opponent, and eagerly awaiting his chance to spring his trap.

Start by using 2 of my 5 squares of movement to get to N-6. If I spot my opponent, I'd like an update to complete my round.

If I can't see my opponent from there, Shaye will continue quietly, using the last of both of his move actions up to I-11.

DM

Spoiler:
Ah, got it. yes please, Move to I8 as above. Next round will move to L8 as in second post.
