Liberty's Edge

This is the part where I get to promote my radio show. Currently, it's running on WERW AM 1570, Syracuse, NY, but I've been recording each episode of the show as a podcast and posting it on the web.

Each episode features a lot of music that I like and appreciate, as well as the weekly featured website.

The show page can be found here:

The second episode of EoS is up on the website as of now. Tune in next Monday, if you're in the Syracuse area, for more, or wait until Wednesday for the podcast version.

Awesome, you have a radio show!

Should I give you a list and spoiler it. That way if you think anything I like sucks you can politely ignore it? :)

What genre of music do you specialize in on this show? Because I can go anywhere from j-pop to the stuff you hear on the radio to classical to....anything really.

I really don't play anything specific. Pick something you like.

If you want, but you don't have to.

Well, as it is halloween season and I'm a huge geek, I say play Mitternacht by E Nomine.

Huh. I knew the song, but the only version I'd heard was by a mediocre German electronica band called Mitte Kill.

Silver Crusade

I request anything by Bonnie Tyler.

Two of those have already been on the show. I think I'll plug 'Emerald' into the set. Love that song.

Liberty's Edge

Just in case I didn't tell people: this is all going to be on next week's show, not tomorrow's.

Congrats on the radio show, Shiny!

I just have a general request or two.
the mainstream is rammstein: anything
and and anything flogging molly, perhaps Worst day since yesterday

Listening now.
I think you've avoided one of the main errors of many radio presenters; of having the DJ links be recorded far, FAR, FAR LOUDER than the music they're supposed to promote.

Which is weird, since we don't have a compressor, and I've been having massive volume problems.

Awesome David. I will check this out later on tonight. Keep up the good work, my friend!

Got any requests? I'm going to try to do a FAWTL/OTD all-request show next week.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

I don't know if it's your style, but check out Temecula Sunrise by Dirty Projectors. I think you'll at least appreciate the technical aspect of the song.

Have you already done Rock Lobster?

That is so awesome man! Play everything...EVERYTHING! You ever see 'Pump Up the Volume' with Christian Slater? I so wanted to do that...now Im too lazy. heh. Thats awesome that you are playing stuff that YOU want!

So how about some odd things?
You Must Be Blind Black Label Society

o and please play a Lizzy song every time...Phil and company were amazing!
howabout Sitamoia by them?

or Umbrella/Jump by Children of Bodom...serious language though. Or actually any of their Downfall intros. Play guess the covers?

or on that idea how about the ultimate Down With the Ship by Scatterbrain

thats all I can think of for now. Speaking of language...are you limited to clean versions? or because its that late, can you play ones that have the d-word and s-word but not f-word? I remember when the local station would play 'Man in the Box' with gettin his nose shoved in ...not spit. or even Bush singin about finding his a$$$$$$ brother in whatever song that was (blanking out here). And late at night theyd play 'Jeremy' and Eddie would call him a harmless little...

The weirdest one for that is Everlast 'What its Like', Ive heard that one on the radio with all different parts cut out of it...even 'chrome 45' got bleeped one time?

Hey Shiny. Quick idea. November 1st is the 25th anniversary of the friggin PMRC ruling/parental advisory sitcker. Maybe you could play the 'filthy fifteen' in honor of that momentous b*@##$*~?

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

Jeeze. How is it after 25 years just hearing the letters PMRC still pisses me off?

Because you're an S.M.F. ? hehehe

My show isn't long enough to do the Filthy Fifteen AND the FAWTL requests. Otherwise, I would be on that faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

Damn, I didn't realize that the PMRC hearings were that long ago... 1985 was the year before I was born... Way to make me feel like a kid, man.

It's late-night AM radio, so as long as I don't say anything, I can play whatever the f!*# I want.

In any case, should I play "You Must Be Blind," "Sitamoia," "Down With the Ship," or "What It's Like"?

always go with Thin Lizzy! :D

Dont let the man keep you down.

I was born the day before the government started shredding all of the Iran-Contra documents.

I was born as Led Zeppelin embarked on their first North American tour!
