Yeah but I didn't have them anymore. So shouldn't I have removed them from my sheet Will?? Wow I just got kicked from a bpb for promt record keeping.
Your "prompt" record keeping isn't as acute as mine, I can guarantee that. You know for the record, I haven't yet had to question anyone else in this game, not during creation, the start of the game, or even now.
Making me have to prove this is pretty annoying. However, as you feel the need to come and claim you are innocent, I will. If you in fact did buy these herbs, which you said you did, your gold left over would be different from when I saved your character sheet and/or when I asked you about those herbs.
You sheet has remained the same (I compared it with vimdiff on a few occasions.) since the start, as I have multiple copies of them for just this reason. As a matter of fact I have 3 copies of your gear, stats, etc i saved just for this occasion, and compared them all before I even asked you the first question about where these herbs came from.
There's no way to spin this in your favor. I caught you in the lie well before I asked the question, as i already knew the answer.
So don't come here and play innocent, you were caught cheating and i removed you from my game. Do not push me further, your only making yourself look silly now.
It's insulting to me and my other players wasting time on your attempt to save face. Run along, this is the last I will comment on your situation.
I had no intention of rubbing your nose in it further, so please just go away and let me run my game as I see fit. I don't want to put any further effort into this, and don't want this to be more awkward as you lie more to save face.

"Suny" |

First, I hope my character page is satisfactory. *bows*
Second, I am sorry for you 'Finn' as I to have had a character ejected from a game. *hugz*
While I am loath to be seeming to 'take sides' or any such thing, I do respect the DM's wishes about who can and cannot be in 'their' game.
So, should our paths cross/future characters meet some where else along the paths of the myriad futures? I hope to have as much fun with you there as here. *bows to 'Finn*
Much cheers to every one.

Finn Mackool |

Wow I missed that line in the edit. As the gold for my raven isn't even taken from that if you do the math and look back in the thread I had to ask kai for some gold back near start for the raven and a few other things but whatever you've made up your mind and even though your wrong you'll never admit it.
As to every one else bye and don't let the Will get you with his clerical errors. Have fun and good luck with the brotherhood.

Finn Mackool |

In this regard, I have evidence, and proof, you have denial. Who wins in the end if this was a silly issue brought to court? me with proof, or you with denial?
That's what I thought, please move along Finn, your not welcome here anymore.
Ummm couple a things I do have evidence I have time stamped word save files that I copied to the forum from. And as to court all I have to prove is that there is a doubt to a jury of my peers and I would not be convicted as guilt "must be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt" please learn the law system before you ref it. As it is you never even asked if I had proof and of course now that I have said that I do you will doubtless accuse me of somehow altering it which is funny as I can't even really work win 7 yet.
So I bid everyone good evening.

Ah, just noticed while reading through the OOC that we also got Karma points.
Went throught the PBP and saw that got 3 karma points. Added and listed them accordingly, but going to make sure they are still in use + I got the right amount (+1 will save, +1 diplomacy with gunny, +1 gather information)
EDIT: Went through my character list and cleaned it to be more easier to read and removed some stuff. Willpower, can you take a look and later give your comment if anything missing and all correct?

"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota |

Mhm, no problem :) I can try to find also the actual comment... just a sec
and here it is:
I introduced 'karma' points just a second ago, just a small house rule I wanted to toss in. Anytime you roll a natural 20 you can bank what I call a karma point, and use it to act out of turn to do minor heroic deeds, or maybe reroll a failed skill check etc. I used Garth's in the IC thread and you cam see a basic example of how it works.
If any of you earn them, just keep track of how you earned it, and how many you have. I usually say the are good for an encounter, but in this game I may let you keep them longer and use them when needed for dramatic effect.
The only catch is, you can't dictate what happens, you just say you want to use them, and I'll add in realistically what can be done. That's only to prevent an old player I had that tried to do really off the wall, and impossible, feats with them.
However, it seems like there is kind of time limit for points. Hm... I might as well use mine or what is still left :P

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

@ Avion: from what will has said about the karma stuff you can store them up indefinitely and use it to counter bad rolls (IE crit fails) like you did when the Captain was about to go over board lol.
@ DM: Take you time bro, RL never seems to stop so we can have fun xD. Besides that we want you to have as much fun as we are so it doesn't become like work, don't want you running away on us now ;). But no need to rush on my behalf at least, I have a week and a half off before I go back to work lol XD XD XD!

![]() |

@Avion
I misread the maximum amount of HD allowed for a Cleric to command at any one time.
The text states: ...At any one time, the cleric may command any number of undead whose total Hit Dice do not exceed his level. He may voluntarily relinquish command on any commanded undead creature or creatures in order to command new ones.
I'll have to limit your allowed control to extend to just 3 of them, as they are HD 1 each. This will happen slowly in game as I don't want to penalize you as it was my misinterpreting the rules on how many you could command at any one time.
They will not be attacking the ship or crew further though as that would be a crappy thing to do in light of this mistake. :)

"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota |

Ah! Yeah, no problem. Even I was thinking something else and now that you mention it, it´s more clear. I have been skimming through a hell alot of text about clerics, Nerull etc to find some info and inspiration. Hm.. Would you like me to RP extra undeads out of the game?
Thinking something like "waking up in night, darkness is thick, something chockes, pain in the head and the feeling of loosing some undeads and disappearing in the night"

![]() |

I could also rule that the druids going on their purging run, take out these "extra" undead leaving you only 3. That could work story wise too.
I was really just trying to find out if an undead under your control would be noticeable as "missing" should they be dispatched, and I'm leaning towards no on that. I'm fairly sure it's just a one way metal command effect and not a 2 way talk to each other effect.
If the Druids do plan to take out those on the outside hull this would make moving the story ahead pretty streamlined. I can say they get 9 of them easy.

![]() |

I'm going to link this to my profile as well, but I started a NPC scratch sheet @ http://75.68.2.159/darkwater/characters so I can give a better picture of the passengers.
I'm still working on the Caravel layout as well, so I know where people sleep etc, and If my vision conflicts with your just let me know.
Also, if I had plans to make this game into an actual adventure, would any of you mind me using your characters likeness in it? If not I understand, but I wanted to ask permission for a future project.
I only have a few npcs started as it's a big project in hindsight, but going forward any new NPCS met in game will get added to the list. Or if (when) one dies I can update the page.
It's my machine at home, so pardon the IP instead of a WWW URL.)
W.

![]() |

That took longer than I thought, anyway, I now have the boat mapped out according to where people sleep. It is tight, but not as horrid as I thought it might be.
I also linked this to my profile if you need it later.
Occupied Areas
Area 1, 2, and 5 are exposed deck areas, not suitable for sleeping. (Nafa has made a nest in the crows nest however and seems fine.)
Area 3, or where you see "Cev" sitting on the marker for area 3, is where the men sleep, it's much tighter fit, but being men they suck it up. Bedrolls and mats for them, not much else space. It's OK sleep..better than swimming, but it's crappy if your sick, or injured.
Area 4 is the captains quarters, it was probably where you have meetings as it's the largest unoccupied room left. I would assume that's where Cap. Pantera calls his own.
Area 6 is the female quarters, most of them share bunk beds, or mats on the floor. Minimal room for storage and chests but it's workable. Most of the females have bunk beds, and those that don't rotate with the crew and generally get decent sleep.
Area 8 looks occupied by the Orge, don't make him angry he's cooped up like a sardine, and not happy. He fits, barely but spends his days on the deck or kitchen where there is more room.
Area 9 is a communal area where some of the more monstrous races dwell. They acknowledge it's the best sleeping arrangements possible, and not a matter of "putting the monsters below". Not that they care really, but some have a pack, or hive mentality and prefer to sleep close by each other. (the gnolls and lizarfolk for example.)
Two of the three area 10 sleeping quarters are occupied by Garth and Gurt, they're too big for any where else.
Area 12, is rather sparse, Kripya prefers to stay here and have food brought to her if possible, she is a loner that prefers her own company and rarely mingles with anyone else.
Area 13 is where what little livestock you have (i'll need to see what is possible, any recommendations?) Jeylend also made sleeping quarters in a tucked away corner as he is pretty content to tend to the livestock. It's comforting to him, but otherwise not a good area to try and get rest in.
Open areas:
Area 10(lower) and 11 are open for PC use, beds or medical lab, or whatever.
Area 7, the kitchen, has free space for labs or stations. More than area 10 and 11.

"Suny" |

As for live stock suggestions.
Goats. Produce milk and are smaller than cows. They are also less fussy eaters.
Chickens. Produce eggs, not sure about grains and such though for feed.
Pigs, Cows etc would seem to be too large fro what the party needs. Since it appears we're trying to maximize 'bounce per ounce' as it were.
Of course, this is an off the top of the head idea. People may want to suggest more exotic and fantastic critters. Perhaps the Drow have some 'Spiderlings' that would produce silk and meat?
What about 'small' Griffins that produce both eggs and milk?
Just ideas. (^_^)

"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota |

Wow! Good idea Sunny
Drow + Spider = Silk & Meat... (& poison)
**Off and run to fetch his potions!**
I agree though. Cows would take too much space and as Suny said, hitting the nail "bounce per ounce", we need to somehow make this as efficient as possible.
Chickens and Goats would be perfect. The meat side would suffer though (Fish can´t be only option). Idea of spiders controlled by drow is good idea.
The garden is procuding.. well, let´s just assume and think like "potatoes, tomatoes, crops, some vegetables, fruits"
The meat is problem as I can see. Even if he had cows and pigs... we can kill-> but milk production is less & there will be no additional producers-> no adults to make offspring. (Cannibalism anyone?)

"Suny" |

Well, the other thing you can grow in a garden is mushrooms. These lil' buggers'll grow in the dark and the shelves can be 'stacked' on top of one another. So there is sort of a semi-viable substitute for some meat.
Again, something the Drow in the crew might be able/willing to share.
(^_^) Always glad to help out.

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

@ Everyone:
It would be neat to have some more exotic creatures on-board, Griffins are a fave of mine along with Pegasi ^^;. But just to give you an idea of why I didn't add more in when we first started, was because this ship's cargo was based off of historical data. Mainly on Columbus's 3 ships and that each ship held slightly different materials and cargo for colonization and such. If we had more ship's, I would have looked into a more interesting setup. =)
I apologize ^^; I tend to be very gritty when it comes to making things realistic so whenever I do something it tends to be a little... overboard sometimes. But I am game for whatever Everyone and the DM wants to do. Besides what I provided is more like a rough draft anyhow lol might as well add too it~
Griffins could definitely survive on fish for a long time, same with drow spiderlings ;). Your call DM, just thought i'd explain my original write up of our cargo lol. But keep the idea's rolling guys and don't let me be a spoil sport!
Besides if we aren't having fun why play right?
@DM:
Edit3: Just noticed all the pairings for the Lizardfolk, my bad, took me a moment to put it together. =) Thats cool too so the room situation for them looks solved then. I guess for Kai he will sleep in one of the spare room 10's then, and he stores the items he got from his chieftain. (These have no stats and are unusable of course, pure roleplay only.)
I originally was having the remaining lizardfolk denning down in area 13, or 12 they don't mind sharing ;). I just didn't know at the time if you wanted us to take the lead on some of the NPC's. But if that won't work now (which is no big deal!) =) i'm game for however you want to do.
Edit: i'm assuming the druids 'garden' is possibly in area 7, yes? Just wondering since i'm sure they will need some space for all their hard work and planting =).
Also if you want to use Kai you can with my full permission, whether its his full likeness or not is up to you, just don't forget he has a portrait in my profile lol. I'm not one of those people who stir up crap over stuff like that besides I'd be honored if someone other then myself used him again =)
Edit2:I think the Captain stated earlier that his room was area 4 I think, but he may correct me if i'm wrong xD.
@ DM:
I love the NPC list although I wish there were more active descriptions =D. The drow one was interesting lol >=). I am also glad that the map worked out for you, if you need me to dig anything else up in the future let me know and i'll try to help out =)

"Surgeon" Avion Merdiota |

Hm... looking at the map also and trying to see how to fit Surgeon room. Seems to be quite cramped plus trying to think a way for a everyone...
but then, evil is Evil! so 10 is most likely mine :P Hm... it would be also be okey from the way of having people to examine or area to "stretch" them. (Pff, druids can do what they want: Real doctors need space to take care of patients :D)

![]() |

Also once we figure out the room situation I will have to change my posted actions on the IC thread because I was originally having Kai'itza coming out of the room where the livestock are lol. xD My bad~
Sorry if I caused you any trouble DM >.<;
Not an issue really. Don't worry about it.

![]() |

You guys can also add walls to make additional private rooms if desired if the PCs want there own space.
The hold has space to do that, plus some other areas above deck, or for the truly brave you could even make a new on deck area with room and walls etc. I had some custom stuff I wanted to do later still, but it's wacky gnome stuff, so I decided to do it as an in game event thing rather than just "give" it to you.
This way if the idea they pitch comes off as "Um no." you can shoot it down.

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

If they are fairly large they could easily eat fish or the rats that are almost always present on a ship this size. Up to you bud =)
Since no one has claimed the small office (Area 11), I'll claim it for Kai's room~
Its funny though that I will be right across that tiny hall from Avion lol

![]() |

Google showed me a ton of fish eating spiders, so heck, why not. Nice.
The rats would run dry quick though, I would think most rats get on boats at harbors, and with these tight quarters it would be easy to get rid of them fast.
I doubt the breeding cycle of rats is fast enough to keep up with spiders large enough to eat them anyway.

"Suny" |

Seriously, you underestimate the breeding power of rats and mice, dear DM.
From the all knowing Wiki-pedia:
Reproduction and life cycle
The brown rat can breed throughout the year if conditions are suitable, a female producing up to five litters a year. The gestation period is only 21 days and litters can number up to fourteen, although seven is common. The maximum life span is up to three years, although most barely manage one. A yearly mortality rate of 95% is estimated, with predators and inter-species conflict as major causes.
Brown rats live in large hierarchical groups, either in burrows or subsurface places such as sewers and cellars. When food is in short supply, the rats lower in social order are the first to die. If a large fraction of a rat population is exterminated, the remaining rats will increase their reproductive rate, and quickly restore the old population level.
There can still be a lot of rats as well as mice aboard. The lil' buggers will just breed faster to keep up the numbers.
My country has had locust like plagues of mice in years past. I've seen scenes of almost carpets of the things swarming along the ground.
If we have mini and medium spiders, they won't have to worry about eating rat. Though people may have to worry about dog sized hunting spiders crawling around the chip. I hope the Drow Cleric etc keep their eight legged friends close to home, as the quick factor might quickly mount in other peoples.
Just some more helpful information. (^_^) I like the Mini-griffin idea m'self.
Concept Illustration ==> Budgery-griff

"Suny" |

*nods* Yup, mice and rats make lots of little mice and rats very quickly. It's why they are more the 'middle' part of a food chain and not the top end. :P
So! How's up for some rat pie? XD
At least the giant spiders should taste like crab. :P
Think I'll stick to the fish that's on the menu, somehow. XD

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I think Kai will stick with the fish as well, besides you don't have to skin a fish xD. Spiders = Too Squishy and Rats.... to bothersome... although he will crush anything that dares to spoil or foul the supplies. Heck he might spend all day spearing rats if they are too much of a problem. lol

![]() |

Nice pic =)
I didn't realize that rats and mice could breed so fast o.O; but you learn something new everyday lol
Although have you read that drows description? Yizzah lol I don't think she will have much trouble controlling things.....
I roll comeliness as a separate stat, and she rolled very well. :) In my game my players always confuse Chr with "looks". So I always kept a separate score in case they where looking "for the babes" or "the studs."
I need to finish those NPC profiles too. I'll be back posting probably Monday or Tuesday, and have more info to hand out then.

I like the spiders so much I think I'm going to make the Drow a spider herder of sorts. I wasn't planning on that originally, but it's such a cool fantasy job. I dig it. Might even bump up her class levels to make it work.

Get out of town! I rolled that stat for my Npc's as well....... My players hated it becuase 'CHA is supposed to represent... Blah blah whine rules lawyers'. Now seeing someone else does this is awesome lol xD I used to have players/npc's add the additonal stat to their character sheet. I made up some homebrew on what skills were manipulated by this score but I lost them awhile back.....
Anyway that is friggen AWESOME!
I look forward to reading the finished NPC stuff, hopefully you don't mind me reading it >.<;. Can't help my curiosity. :)

Now we know where she gets all her silk from, Silk Producing Spiders, egad's! Once we reach land she will be a rich, and sexy, Baroness in no-time.
Sounds like our ship is a barrel of fun, now we just have to keep dodging falling meteorites, fend off waves of strange creatures and keep the evil overlord to-be locked in the basement.....

"Quartermaster" Kai'itza |

I have a question for you DM Willpower~
Are you a game designer in real life? or is there alot of people with the same name as you who play test? xD
Forgive me, too little sleep + too much caffeine = an interesting day
Besides the JPG for the Darkwater Adventure made me somewhat nostalgic for 1st/2nd edition games. But it is definitely really neat. ^^
Edit:btw I posted some actions a little before Avion's and Suny's autopsy. Just thought i'd post this here in case you missed it since I haven't posted in a couple days ^^.
