How Should Walls be Drawn?

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

I didn't see anything in my admittedly cursory search of the site but hopefully I'm not asking something that has been asked recently.

How do you drawn a Wall like Wall of Fire or Blade Barrier? Should it be along a line on a grid or can it go down the middle of squares? Or either? The section in the two spells mentioned above that describe how to deal with a creature through whom the wall passes seems to imply the latter but could just be included for Large and larger creatures.

They're centred on an intersection of squares, so draw the area of the wall or whatever along the lines.

Not trying to be a douche or anything but is there a section of the rules that says what you are saying or is that just how your group plays it? Other spells can target squares instead of intersections, right?

Core p.214:Area: Some spells affect an area. Sometimes a spell description specifies a specially defined area, but usually an area falls into one of the categories defined below. Regardless of the shape of the area, you select the point where the spell originates, but otherwise you don’t control which creatures or objects the spell affects. The point of origin of a spell is always a grid intersection.

Thanks so much. Exactly what we were looking for. I guess the rules for intersecting a creature are for those larger than Medium. Our Oracle is going to have a fit...

Glad to help.
