Deeper Darkness

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

Say I have a character that lacks both low light vision and darkvision, but through class abilities gains the ability to see perfectly in deeper darkness. Does this mean for this character, I should treat him as being in light like in sunlight for the effects of vision? Or should the character be considered to have darkvision for normal darkness? Or is there another way to properly deal with this? Thanks in advance for the help.

It would be normal color vision in normal lighting conditions.

Silver Crusade

Just because he can see through Magical Darkness doesnt mean he can see through mundane darkness.

He didn't specifically state it, however, most abilities that allow you to see through deeper darkness also permit one to see through mundane darkness.

Also, the way I stated my answer was ripe for misinterpretation.

Restated: The character would observer his or her surroundings with normal color vision as long the character were in normal lighting conditions deeper darkness not withstanding.
