Another great movie to the series with an ending setting up another sequel.

It's only playing in 3-D around here. I'm looking forward to it opening on a flat screen, so's I can watch it without feeling like a zombie is chewing on my brain.

Its only been released in 3-D. Whether that changes remains to be seen, but if it doesn't then this is the start of what will surely be a growing trend. Not liking that at all.

Silver Crusade

Seeing Wesker in action was awesome but not as awesome as

Spoiler:

seeing Alice get de-powered.

Haven't seen it and I'm not going to. Maybe when it's getting aired on tv i might watch it. But so far everything about it has repelled me: The previous movies content and the direction their general quality was heading (down), the trailer with lots of throw/stick/fling/stretch/move things toward the camera for 3-D (seriously, that's annoying and only tells me that they had no better idea what to use their 3-D for), the mere fact that it's a 3-D movie (i'm getting so sick of it) as well as the last Angry Joe review which confirmed all my expectations.

Sexist Sarcasm on 3d

Spoiler:
Mila Jovovich is so petite though, they had to have *something* to be three dimensional. Lets be honest, she's a cute woman, but my thigh has more mass than she does.

Spoiler:
More mass than her thigh or more mass than her entire body?

Entire body. My foot has more mass than her thigh. ;-)

Regardless of what Rotten Tomatoes thought of it, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, I didn't view it in 3D though. I'm not on that bandwagon yet.

From what I've heard, it makes much of the previous movie pointless (the escaping to the north part) and ends in a cliffhanger.

Is this true?

Every one of theses movies has a cliffhanger ending so that shouldn't suprise anybody but,

spoiler:
yeah, the whole trip to Alaska thing turns out to be kind of a snipe hunt.

There isn't a theater with 3D capability within 100 miles of me so I also caught this in 2D. However, you could tell it was supposed to be 3D because the tint on the film would change from amber to green every 15mins or so for no apparent reason.

That said, I'll go see these movies as long as they keep making them. I don't care that they only get more ridiculous as the story progresses. I'm not even a fan of the Resident Evil games. I just enjoy these movies for the shlock they are. At this point, I think we're maybe only two or three films away from Resident Evil:Zombie Grizzly-Cobra vs. Tyrant Squid-Bat, a SyFy original.

Dark Archive

So which characters from the games (besides wesker) are in it and why is moving to Alaska pointless?

Liberty's Edge

Obviously, Claire Redfield from RE2 is in Afterlife, but

spoiler:
her brother, Chris Redfield, from RE1
shows up in this movie and
ending spoiler:
Jill Valentine, Chris' co-hero from RE1,
shows up in the teaser for the next movie at the end of the film.

There's been no sign of Leon Kennedy but, rumor has it, Anderson wants to put him in the next film.

Alaska spoiler:
Arcadia, Alaska, turns out to be a boat, which was transmitting as it traveled the Alaskan coast. The only reason for Alice to go to Alaska is to give Claire a ride back to zombie-infested Los Angeles where they find the Arcadia at sea.
