It's only playing in 3-D around here. I'm looking forward to it opening on a flat screen, so's I can watch it without feeling like a zombie is chewing on my brain.
Its only been released in 3-D. Whether that changes remains to be seen, but if it doesn't then this is the start of what will surely be a growing trend. Not liking that at all.

Haven't seen it and I'm not going to. Maybe when it's getting aired on tv i might watch it. But so far everything about it has repelled me: The previous movies content and the direction their general quality was heading (down), the trailer with lots of throw/stick/fling/stretch/move things toward the camera for 3-D (seriously, that's annoying and only tells me that they had no better idea what to use their 3-D for), the mere fact that it's a 3-D movie (i'm getting so sick of it) as well as the last Angry Joe review which confirmed all my expectations.

From what I've heard, it makes much of the previous movie pointless (the escaping to the north part) and ends in a cliffhanger.
Every one of theses movies has a cliffhanger ending so that shouldn't suprise anybody but,
There isn't a theater with 3D capability within 100 miles of me so I also caught this in 2D. However, you could tell it was supposed to be 3D because the tint on the film would change from amber to green every 15mins or so for no apparent reason.
That said, I'll go see these movies as long as they keep making them. I don't care that they only get more ridiculous as the story progresses. I'm not even a fan of the Resident Evil games. I just enjoy these movies for the shlock they are. At this point, I think we're maybe only two or three films away from Resident Evil:Zombie Grizzly-Cobra vs. Tyrant Squid-Bat, a SyFy original.

Obviously, Claire Redfield from RE2 is in Afterlife, but
There's been no sign of Leon Kennedy but, rumor has it, Anderson wants to put him in the next film.
