A question about the PRD

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So I'm thinking about writing books for my campaign setting with Pathfinder rules (rather than 4e rules). My questions is this:

It says in the agreement that we can reference things in the Advanced Player's Handbook. Does that mean I can make new spells for the Witch class? I know we can't infringe on Paizo's IP, but what about the rules for drugs and addiction? can I make my own stats for drugs in my campaign?
Please help a new guy out.

Too Long; didn't read:
What can I use in my own publications from the Advanced Player's Guide?

If you're creating books purely for your home game and have no intention of publishing them, you can use anything in your game, including closed content from Wizards of the Coast.

If, however, you intend to put your books out, even if only on a public website as free downloads, you need to comply with the license and use only open content. In the case of the APG... pretty much everything is open content, with the exception of proper nouns. So the names of deities are closed content and the names in the Campaign Traits section at the back are closed content, but that's about it. You absoulutely CAN make new witch spells or (if you move over to the GameMastery Guide) advance or tweak the rules for drugs and addiction.

Thanks so much!

I flagged your double thread as a double post so your question doesn't get answered twice, Gnomemaster. If you can still delete it, that'd be great too.

..which means you need to read and understand the OGL, and look at the statements of Product Identity and Open Content in each OGL product, which may vary from what James said above.
