Mithral armor + speed

Rules Questions

Scarab Sages

I have a Bard/Barbarian who finally managed to get himself a Mithral Breastplate. Since it's still considered light armor, he can cast.

Is my speed now 30?

20 (Breastplate) + 10 (Barbarian)?

Sovereign Court

Assuming your medium sized, its 40. Your mothril breastplate is considered light armour, which doesn't reduce his movement speed.

Actually, you're a bit wrong there- mithril armor acts as one category lighter than what an armor usually is for purposes of movement, so your mithril breastplate has the following stats:

4200 GP, +6 AC, +5 Max Dex, -1 Armor Check, 15% Spell Failure (negated by Bard's ability to ignore light armor), 30' Medium/20' Small Speed, 15 lb.

So 30' (Breastplate) + 10' (Barbarian Fast Movement) = 40' Speed
