By the way Seeker, would you be offended if I asked you to change your alias name to "Blackleaf of Mierani." The caps and stuff in it currently are weirdin' me out, also kinda long...
As it has 180 posts I can't change it, Its a really old one, 2 years or better so I really can not alter the name,

seekerofshadowlight |

yeah, I do not always use caps Points to name above and That one I didn't, got much better at using em but that was my first Alt so made alot of mistakes, by the time I could go and fix it I had posted with it to much OOC to do so :)

Vinchenzo, the comment about the syrup was just filler flavor on my part. Nichelle didn't actually mention it aloud.
Ah, I see I'm the odd one out on the whole "bolding speech" bit, so I'll start writing my posts to conform with the majority.
Ah; apologies. I can't remember writing it to begin with, so I'll assume I was dazed, confused and none too perceptive.
Oh well. Can't edit it now.

Was just kind of bored waiting for other people to post updates on the IC forum, so I decided to share with you some insights into my (feeble) artistic mind!
SdF and Me'mori may recall that back on the Terra Mortalis forums, I often shared a selection of music when I posted some artwork, music I listened to as I drew that picture. I find it does a few things--lets me share music I love with others, often gets them to share music they associate with their characters with me, and gives others an emotional insight into the character I'm playing.
Kinda forgot to do that this time, so without further ado...
#1: Rhys, Unmasked
For this drawing, I started listening to "Drifting", by guitarist Andy McKee, which you can listen to on YouTube here. This is kind of Rhys' definitive song, since it is both a lonely and adventurous tune to me.
"Pacific Voices", by Taiko drumming group Portland Taiko, was also a great song. I listened to a lot of hachijodaiko drumming while drawing both these pictures because of the elemental sound of thundering drums, but "Pacific Voices" stood out for its focus on violin. Unfortunately, I can't find a good online sample of it, since I own the CD it came on, Making Waves.
#2: Rhys, Masked
"Romeiro ao Lonxe", by Galician folk ensemble Luar na Lubre. Yes, it is sung to the tune of "Scarborough Fair", but I don't care. They do a phenomenal job with it. And for some reason, the responses between the leads make the song sound lonely. Which, in case you haven't noticed, is kind of a driving theme behind Rhys' character. XD You can listen to the song here.
"Breaking Out", by the Protomen. Thematically different, yes. But a song about a young man, screaming in frustration against the system, lonely in his rebellion despite being surrounded by people? Right on. Also, it seems to have been inspired by Bruce Springsteen. Also may have the distinction of having some of my favorite lyrics in song history: "I feel a fever coming on me, burning out of control / And I hear nothing but the static / For years now, there's been nothing but the static on the radio / If you can hear my voice outside these walls / If you can hear me sending out this message tonight / Then break the silence, send a signal back / I'm coming, all I need is a little guiding light." You can hear this song by giving your cursor a wee bit of a click right here.
I hope I haven't come over as being nuts or weird, and I hope you've enjoyed some of the music I've shunted your way. I also hope this inspires you to post some of your own music that you associate with your character for OUR listening pleasure!

I normally only post once or twice a day. All in the day really. I nominally have low posts on the weekends and often do not get to post until late at night{ often 3-4AM EST) and normally update my games before I post in games I play
I try to check in of a day but do not always have the time to post till late evening.

Rhys has a terrible fort save and somehow comes out on top. -facepalm- I suspect there's some patron Deity of Withdrawn Forest Guides out there who pointed His Mighty Finger at Rhys and said "This boy must now leave my flock and come out of his shell! BE A MAN, BOY!"
None of us can die before we get a chance to adventure together! I won't allow it. :<

About the fight!
Did-a-chick, dad-a-jingers, goddamned lobsters bit off your fingers.
...if you haven't read the Dark Tower series, you probably don't get the "lobstrosities" reference I'm making with Rhys, but I found the parallels to be rocking awesome. XD
The lead character in the Dark Tower novels is a Gunslinger (a sort of knight-errant) named Roland. At the end of the first book he falls asleep on a beach.
At the beginning of the second book, he wakes up to a monstrous lobster (that he mentally dubs a "lobstrosity") biting two of his fingers clean off his hand. This is very, VERY bad for somebody who slings two guns.
I'm glad Rhys didn't LOSE that finger! Yet...
He'll do what he can to get the others out of this!

Sorry! I didn't know you were waiting on me!

I should be off DMing my real-life game for the rest of tonight-- 5pm to about 2am my time. Assume I am still boxing the crab if my actions are delaying the game, and after the battle I guess I'll rock an endure elements on someone if they look like they're suffering from heat stroke. Don't know how long we've been laying there, but unconcious on a desert beach (?) on the equator during late summer is probably not good for our health.

Just in case the descriptions are not apt.

On the other hand, the icons for the scorpions are cute! =3

*falls over laughing* If anyone starts building things from coconuts, I'll.. something.
Nichelle (with her one-track mind) will attempt to harvest the venom from the tails with glances up to the rest of those still around, getting mostly absorbed in her work until she sees results or someone says something.
If she can get the venom to a stable point, where she can leave it for a while, she'll mention salvage, then try to free Jask from his manacles.

Here is a helpful chart depicting each PC and NPC's relationship. Becoming friendly with them will get you more info on their secrets as well as a possible quest. At helpful they will provide that PC with a boon of some sort, usually an untyped bonus to something...
This chart is in my profile as well.

More art!
Tentatively titled 'Jungle Heat', this is a hypothetical picture of Rhys stripped-down to better deal with the muggy humidity of the jungle (not that it matters to him, being resistant to heat and all, but whatever). It started out as a gag picture of Rhys in a bathing suit, since they're all on the beach, and looking very embarrassed about it, but it sorta evolved. I wanted to draw what he might look like once his mask of general distance was worn away. Tattoos on display! Woo!
The thingy he's conjuring is a cluster of darkness bubbles, since Tieflings can cast Darkness once per day.
You can see smiling and generally playful Rhys here.
MUSIC SELECTION: I wanted to go for some happier songs when I drew this, so prepare yourself. XD
1: "A Deus", by Noriyuki Iwadare, a man who composes some of the best music in video game history. This one's in Portugese. Listen here.
2: "This Side", by Nickel Creek. A little twangy and folky-sounding, but too good for me to deny on most cases. Listen here.
3: "Doo Bee Doo", by Freshlyground. Seriously, music doesn't get any happier than this. Or addicting. I might also have a crush on the lead singer. XD Listen here, baby.
Let me know what you think, and keep them dice rollin'!

I'm digging through the Poison Crafting rules questions in the forum because my math is saying that it would take approx 7 weeks to manage one dose of poison.
That is, assuming that the gp value of the poison stands even for harvested poisons (assuming our toxic teen can manage it). Please tell me that I'm crazy.
Did some APG digging, found this feat:
Master Alchemist
Your mastery of alchemy is nearly supernatural.
Prerequisite: Craft (alchemy) 5 ranks.
Benefit: You receive a +2 bonus on Craft (alchemy) checks, and you may create mundane alchemical items much more quickly than normal. When making poisons, you can create a number of doses equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum 1) at one time. These additional doses do not increase the time required, but they do increase the raw material cost. In addition, whenever you make alchemical items or poisons using Craft (alchemy), use the item’s gp value as its sp value when determining your progress (do not multiply the item’s gp cost by 10 to determine its sp cost).
Better, but interesting that I have to take a feat to manage it.. I see no mention of maximum ranks per level, sooooo.. *raises hand* Mister DM, may I do some skillrank and feat shuffling, please?
If not, I'll survive, but the girl will be carrying around a LOT of poison, just waiting for the second she hits third level.
Poisoner Archetype:
Poison Use (Ex): At 1st level, a poisoner is trained in the use of poison and cannot accidentally poison herself when applying poison to a blade. This ability replaces trapfinding.
Master Poisoner (Ex): At 3rd level, a poisoner can use Craft (alchemy) to change the type of a poison. This requires 1 hour of work with an alchemist’s lab and a Craft (alchemy) skill check with a DC equal to the poison’s DC. If successful, the poison’s type changes to contact, ingested, inhaled, or injury. If the check fails, the poison is ruined. The poisoner also receives a bonus on Craft (alchemy) skill checks when working with poison equal to 1/2 her rogue level. This ability replaces trap sense.
edit: Additionally-- Poison Forum Resource for handy reference, as things will come up, I'm certain.

...that's kind of ridiculous. -_-
As for skill and feat shuffling, SdF is usually pretty lenient about that kinda stuff, especially about something that's so...unbalanced.
I mean...here is a scorpion. It stings you and injects its poison. So you cut off the stinger of a scorpion that has yet to inject its stock of poison, and harvest it. HOW does it take seven weeks to do that (assuming you don't fail the check by 4 or more each week)?
Kind of silly, especially considering your character is a POISONER.

seekerofshadowlight |

It is balanced for game not to be realistic. Crafting as a whole is fixed that way for game balance as a whole. That said most folks kinda heandwave the really stupid stuff like this that are screwed over by the rules
Ask Sdf about it

Me'mori |

*puts on horns and a lawyer's suit*
I suppose, the time duration would account for concentrating, and stabilizing it so it does not decay in storage, as would the gp cost for crafting it represent the necessary cost of materials used to manage it-- even taking into account the idea that any item sold "at cost" is half of the listed price, which would mark down the cost for an equivalent poison to 105gp.
*paces, a spade-tipped tail writing intermittently*
Additionally, that time estimate was used to represent simply meeting the Craft DC (which is the save DC). An alchemy-focused character can exceed the craft DC and shorten the time. However, without an astronomic check (constant 20s= 6wks. 30s=3 wks. 40s= ~2.92 wks)-- Or the aforementioned feat, creation becomes prohibitive.
Which, all things considered, is a plausible idea in the (former) system. If poison were commonplace, then given the former system's alignment rules-- a whole other discussion entirely-- the world would be an evil place, and hardly appropriate for generalist fantasy.
*looks up to see seeker's post*
Ah. succinctly Ninja'd. All this cosplay for nothing. :p
