Good mourning FAWTL! I miss sleeping in on Saturday's. I figure 15 or 16 years and I should be able to again. I started reading Jude the Book of Three last night. I know he has no idea what I am saying but he seemed to at least enjoy me talking. I have to get some shopping done this morning and this afternoon lawn work.

Have you tried Aklo?

Bryce always liked the Just So Stories when he was that age. Something about the cadence of them. When I was that age my dad read me law textbooks. Which my family says explains my freakish vocabulary. ;)
Oh, and how long it is until you can sleep in on a Saturday totally depends on your kids internal clock. So, you know, if you have a night owl your chances are better. :)| lynora |
*shivers* The rest of the house is warm, but my room is freezing. I don't have as many of the floorboard heaters in here as the other rooms do. Great for sleeping, bad for getting dressed.
Had movie night with Bryce last night. It went well. He was so upset about missing the school movie night because he started getting sick that I recreated the experience at home. Except without having to walk two blocks in the dark and no screaming kids. And a movie he wanted to see. He loved it. Pizza and popcorn in front of the tv and he got to see Planet 51. I was bored silly by the movie, but he thought it was cool. :)

That thread left me horribly depressed.
Yeah, me too...
(Well, not the thread, because I don't know anything about it, but the video...)

Sadly yes. It is the same reason I must now watch tons of old movies with my wife and get her caught up with 20+ years of pop culture, for good or ill.
Reminds me of the time they showed "who wants to be a Millionaire" and the brilliant MIT student from Bangladesh lost out in the first round on a Yogi Bear question.
Sad but he did not grow up in the west.
Or my co-worker from Scotland who had his first taste of rootbeer the other day in a rootbeer float. He liked it but still wondered what the fuss was about.

Exhausting; 13+ hours a day, seven days a week for two months without a break takes it out of me at this age, but the money was good. This outfit said they would have me work a coal power plant shutdown in southern Colorado after the refinery, but they claim it got rescheduled to February. I'm glad to have some time to recover, but one more maintenance shut down would finally get me out of the hole.

I don't know, but just looking at today's Numeria blog illustration, I had that "don't get peanut butter in my chocolate" feeling.
But that looks cool! {feels bad for liking Numeria... & building a stabbitymcblasty out of junkyard parts}
Wait?! You liked that [CENSORED]?! I shall never understand you, Freehold. Also, obligatory Peter Grubers story (wait for it...).Crimson Jester wrote:Wild Wild West flash backsOh come now. The movie wasn't THAT bad. Cheesy, certainly. Still, I would have preferred a Brisco County Jr. movie more.
Speaking of work, my wife found out that her last day will probably be Monday or Tuesday...
UGH, DISLIKE! Stupid manager douchebag. Hope it works out for the best.

Well, if there are enough polar clubbers to turn the water yellow, it's probably warmer than it looks. And Pee is the first letter in the club. :)Justin Franklin wrote:I still think there is some kind of conspiracy at work there- I think the water might be a lot warmer at these events than we are lead to believe.Jyu1ch1 wrote:Sure. Dell stuff
I've always had good luck with Dell notebooks and desktops, for me and others I've helped. I wonder... I always ordered the Small Biz models, not the Consumer configurations; I wonder if that has something to do with it? (Small Biz stuff always comes with full install CDs/DVDs and minimal/no crapware/payola-ware installed)

When I got my Dell laptop, one of the first things i did was uninstall all that crap, and put several programs I use on there to maintain it, AVG, Tune up utilities, and a couple others. So far so good, he he.
Also, heat is a BIG deal with laptops, so getting a cooling pad is a good idea.

Dell Power cords for their lap tops suck. As does the batteries. I have as of yet to have any problem however with my desktop.

Well, i hope I get lucky with this one, do the power cords get damaged easily? Or do they just break down after a while? I think the batteries have not bothered me yet, but then again, I haven't drained them yet, he he

The bend right at the connector breaks very easily. I have even tried using electrical tape to reinforce them and it does not help much.

I've seen enough of them (Wintel & Apple) to know it ain't just Dell's cords that have that problem. It seems like it'd be easy enough to fix by adding extra reinforcing rubber at the problem spots, but I guess that extra few pennies per unit cost is a dealbreaker.
Also, most of the notebook batteries are only made by a few companies. Dell, Lenovo, Acer/Gateway, Apple... all their notebook batteries (and their iPod batteries too, don't know about the iPad or iPhone) are made by the same company.

If I put up a pic, it won't be on FB... maybe temporarily on Flickr or something.
Fine..... It could be worse. Like with Allen, who is whom???
