Skipping a couple of pages. If anything major happened, let me know.
Anyway, to balance out the brain damage inflicted by SyFy Channel's Saturday movies, I went over to Netflix today and watched Metropolis and Moon today. Feel MUCH less dumber.
I just watched Metropolis the other day. Then I found out there is a cleaned up version due out in November.

Stravinsky, EMO????
The mid-80s band that was one of the first that could possibly be considered "emo", not the ballet. (I admit, if it wasn't for last.fm I still wouldn't know who they were.)
Also, is it just me or is the song Taig linked horribly generic? I swear I've heard that song a dozen times with slightly different lyrics.

GoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOd Morning Fawltyhouse!!!!
Ah, monday. Most loathed day of the week, yet the day itself strives to be no more or less than any other. It comes complete with sunrise and sunset, a temperature that usually compliments the season, and another opportunity to seize the world by its genitals and demand its lunch money.
I hope everyone's weekend was sublime. I went to a new shi-chi teahouse yesterday up in Hell's Kitchen that was awesome. They're a bit pricey, but you get quality tea, and their apertifs are EXCELLENT. This place is like the restaurants you see parodied in comedies where you spend a gazillion dollars on three sweet peas drizzled in honey- but they're actually the best sweet peas you've ever eaten. IF we do a FawltyNY, I suggest we try this place...provided anyone has any money left from travel.
IN terms of writing, I got absolutely NOTHING done this weekend. Strangely enough I'm kinda proud of that- I feel relaxed and rested, ready to pick up the pen once more. I have a crapload of laundry to put away and sort, but aside from that, once I get home, I'm cracking at the keys.
What is everyone else up to/thinking?

I might actually try Netflix, especially since seeing that commercial that it's available through the Wii.
Highly worth it. $9 a month, you get 1 DVD delivered and unlimited watching on your PC or Game Consule. Add in the fact that they have a LOT of TV shows up for instant viewing and it beats the cost of buying/renting anywhere else.

Tea! I miss the tea places in NY. But they make me sad when they serve bubble tea. The only good thing about bubble tea is that it seems to magically attract a bunch of giggly Asian chicks.
Trying to wake up. Must make coffee soon so I can put together a quiz for the students.

How could you NOT like bubble tea?!??!!?! I must contend that you have been served the wrong type of tea from the wrong people. You now MUST come here, I will set you straight.

I must admit, due to my luddite ways, I originally loathed the idea of netflix. Now that the wife has gotten me hooked on the Tudors, I have to say I love it. Netflix forever, Blockbuster(Gulp!) never! Especially since they closed down the one near my house. I really need to set Blockbuster straight.

Sure man. Want hot asian chicks? Stop by the bubble tea place. They'll set you straight.

Morning, All!
Had a decent weekend. Worked Saturday, but had Friday and Sunday off. They are probably the last days off I'll get until September 25th. I'm trying to get my mind around that.
It is really just a mental game. For some reason, I can handle being deployed for 7 months--underway for weeks on end without a break--but the idea of being "in port" and not getting at least one day off a week is awful.
Gotta push through, though. The "BIG INSPECTION" is in three weeks. Yeesh!
I hope all you FAWLTies are starting the week of well...and that you finish it the same way.
