AZ!! Really only 1 week left?? Target has some cute changing tables. And if I may, I would suggest the changing pad that has the sides that come up. This one!
I will second that as it is the one we have in our changing table. Also if you are going to get changing table covers, I suggest 3 or 4.:)

Day three of online training. Nice way to catch up on some zzzzzz.
(It just sucks when I already know about 80% of this stuff -- I just need the other 20%. But in order to get the missing stuff, I need to sit through 2 and a half hours of monotone training.)
It's also a little weird because there's about 6 of us in "Dilbert Land" taking the same course -- but for some reason, the sound isn't in sync. So we are hearing the thing as if there are three or four echoes.

Yuck. I hate echo chamber meetings. Very distracting.

Borders filed for Chapter 11. I knew it was coming. Oh well, they were my number one miniatures store, but miniatures aren't going to be made anymore, anyway. Weird, douchey times.
Yeah, they've been in trouble for a while. Even their flagship store has been looking kind of sad lately. My neighbor works for them in tech support and she says that the layoffs have been insane.

How you spell "biffday?"
Thanks for the wishes, all! We checked naughty things off the to-do list from midnight until two a.m., so that's done... for now. Breakfast at Bob Evans is over and we bought a socket set and combination wrenches from Sears. Now it's off to work. Woo! We do it up right! Par-tay!

She's not counting the few hours of things previous to that as naughty...

That was technically 'yesterday' and so not my birthday. ;) Good reason to miss Paizo chat, though.

Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, the evil Dr. Rose (noted OBGYN, geneticist, and secret D&D fan) moved one step closer to producing the world's first, legitimate Hill Giant, all with the unwitting participation of one of her patients. Meanwhile, Bill accidently ordered 1,000 steamed pikes, in stead of 100 feet of steam pipe, when he tried to text on the sly during a meeting. And, across town, Scott moved one step closer to his dream of becoming and axe murd...No, wait! That's my soap opera!

That is very much like the changing pad we have. As for the changing table, yeah Target does have some nice ones.
I've also been looking at JCPenney. They've got some kind of crazy sale going on of internet orders, and all their changing tables are discounted. There's also the potential for free shipping.
Edit: And, until we get one, we can just use the changing table on the Pack'N'Play, assuming little Charlie the Hutt still fits on it....

The floor works in a heartbeat as well.
We have a changing table, but it was made for someone about half my height. I used the floor or the bed (theirs) far more than I ever used the changing table.

Using the floor also helps because there's not much chance of the child falling off the floor. ;-)

Oh, and I might have a paying concert gig in March! Not sure if I need to join the union for that one, but I better find out. Best to be on the safe side. Musicians can be vicious. Right, CH?
What kind of gig? What sort of ensemble are you playing with?
Most one-off types of things don't require union membership, but it's safe to look into. If it's with an orchestra or theater band, they might. I don't know a ton about it, because singers don't get unions. We get abused for whatever pittance they feel like paying us.

It's with an orchestra. Don't know what the music is yet. I'll ask the union guys at rehearsal Thursday night. Shoot, I guess I could email the guy who's paying and ask if he needs my union membership number to pay me. Durr.

And that's when he'll respond, "Yankee Doodle went to town..."
Hopefully you'll know the response.

On the plus side, if they don't require it, but some of the musicians are union, you get the advantages of being on the union schedule even if you're not a member, including regular breaks and requiring that rehearsals actually end when they are scheduled to.
Like I said, singers don't get unions, but when I do operas, the orchestra and the stagehands do. (Added bonus: the stagehands union says that, due to liability, nobody can be on stage while they're not present.)
