Sh*t, that sounds too f*cking familiar. +1 the see a doc to figure out what is causing it and the best way to treat it (or at least alleviate your symptoms to within something tolerable). Sadly, I don't have anything magically reassuring to say or any easy fix for you. Hang in there as best you can and please PLEASE give a yell to someone when you feel like you might need help or just someone to listen.

Hang in there, Shiny.

Wish I could post this in the appropriate thread but 'hell no' -

Weird dichotomy. People that don't 'believe' in God, 'believe' Him to be all kinds of bad things and 'responsible' for all kinds of bad things if He (or She) exists, including present day trials, big and small. Also, anyone that believes is somehow responsible for the sins of the Father or any previous believers. People that believe in God, believe in the type of God that they are comfortable with. Good and bad for some. No doubting that a lot of bad has been done in God's name. But if you don't believe, isn't it just that Man is bad? If He doesn't exist, how can He be?

So is it really the existence of God that causes the arguments? Or the manner/articles of belief? Or the degree of the blinders people wear?

Just rambling. This is not the right thread, but I had these thoughts pop into my whacky brain. And I am not posting in that cesspool.

I'm pretty sure atheist Urizen and doubting me don't feel that way. Without scientific evidence either way, I just wish all the most stridently vocal on both sides would just shut up... it's like the world's oldest trollwar. As far as I'm concerned, if they don't bludgeon others with their belief/non-belief and don't use those convictions to treat others as less than human, they are free to think, believe, or hallucinate whatever they want.

Edit: Mmmm, pie.

I think we should just lock both sides in a smaller area and sell tickets to the battle royal that would occur. Might as well give the proceeds to a charity. ;)

I had a fun night of gaming last night. So no complaints here, I also have to prepare to run the D&D Encounters program tonight at my FLGS.

D&D Encounters is like D&D light. Basically little to no chance for roleplaying 1 encounter of combat per night. I prefer my tuesday night gaming sessions by far.

A lot of our sessions don't even have combat, and we do a lot of RP online when we can (if people respond). What do you guys run on tuesday? It's 4e, right?

Currently yes, I am running it by player request. There was a good amount of player RP going on. I had to introduce 2 new players and the NPC Cleric said that he was taking off (mainly because he would have made things too easy). So the new players got introduced and the old players had to retreat from the battlefield because of daunting battles. I keep encouraging good RP, but we still had 2 huge encounters this session.

I have to add: the split infinitive is NOT grammatically incorrect. It is a stylistic preference, based on the fact that "splitting" an infinitive is impossible in Latin. But we're not writing Latin here, folks.

But hell yeah. Thx for the sanity check.

Just melancholy today. Layoffs at work. :(

Agreed. I used to be a staunch proponent of latinate English, but have reconsidered. I am also slowly coming to the conclusion that the stricture against ending a sentence with a preposition is obsolete, given its common usage and the fact that it is readily understood by native speakers.

(As long as the preposition is not superfluous:
"I can't remember where this letter came from." Ok.
"I can't figure out where my book is at." Nails on a chalkboard.)

Dashing thru the threads,

Love the shades of reds,

Oh, the songs they play,

And people I will slay,
They don't stand a chance?

With words they aim to hurt,
And my hook it is so sharp,
The blood it will a squirt,
They ought to be playing LARP.

Shiny, +1 to what Mac said.

Sigh. And the kidlet drama continues. The only reason he isn't suspended is because the principal was gone today. He was biting the teaching assistant repeatedly. Given that there is only two days before Christmas break strongly considering just pulling him out myself and let him start break early.

Actually this one is yes. I have someone running a variant ranger as a scout.

Edit: They seperate into specific module for Encounters allows these variants.

I saw 'Zombie eating Santa Claus,
Sprinkled with some mistletoe, last night.

Downstairs to have a peek.

Mmmmm....mistletoe.

Scarab Sages

I'm dreaming of a red Christmas
Just like the ones that make me howl
Where the skulltops glisten
and the living listen
To hear zombies on the prowl

I'm dreaming of a red Christmas
With every cracked open skull I said
"May my brainnnn hunger be well fed
And may all your Christmases be red"

Just realized something. Although they were each part of a different group of "threes" this year*, Peter Graves, Leslie Nielsen and Barbara Billingsley all dying this year made it the year of Airplane Serious Three.

*Y'know, how famous people always die in threes?
