Snakes are teh most awesomest!!!

Until you have been bit by one.

Which I have.

They're not exactly the domesticatin' type.

See! I 'just' told hubby that if it bites me I am feeding it to the cat.
Did I mention that I had to go to the hospital?

Oooh, tell us the story, Uncle Urizen!

But corn snakes make great pets. Wiki says so.

He might want to do that in a new thread, so he doesn't completely freak Solnes out. :)

But corn snakes don't smell as bad as dogs. And they only get to 4-6 feet long. And they are prettier than dogs. And they don't bark. Or eat tons of kibble. Or poop all over the yard.

Yeah, it's not like there were a lot of time changes like Hindemith does. Just straight 4/8. I wanted to do bad things to a lot of people, but my flute would not have been playable afterwards.

Actually, I'm very fond of our dogs. But I think I just talked myself into being a snake person.

Did I mention that the snake bit me on the middle finger? And that we took the snake with us when they shuttled me off to the hospital in the ambulance?

And that I was in the sixth grade? And I found the snake in the playground ... at school?

I haven't seen it. Now I don't think I should.

Why didn't I choose a less humorous instrument, like the bassoon?

Yay, coffee. Wonderful, wonderful coffee that makes my mornings almost bearable....

Almost. Kidlet has taken it into his head to not get dressed when asked and I am beyond sick of being late.

My Snake story.

Spoiler:
I found 2 baby cottonmouths when I was little out in my grandmother's backyard. I didn't get bit or anything (I was always careful to not get bit). My grandma knew what they were so when I took an afternoon nap she got rid of em.

Technically, yes.

Pedant:
You can do fractional operations on time signatures, and it works. You would have the same note values in a measure in 4/8 and 1/2. What would confuse an orchestra, however, is the way they are conducted. In 4/8, the conductor would be giving the orchestra 4 beats per measure, vs just one for 1/2.

Ugh. Remind me to pack my lunch in future. No matter what. PBJ is still better than risking that. I was running short on time this morning courtesy of the kidlet, so I decided to just buy a sandwich at Subway for lunch. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was delicious, but the person ahead of me in line got a tuna salad sandwich and they use the same knife to cut all the sandwiches. Lucky for me I was able to get the girl's attention before she cut my sandwich or I'd have had to have them remake the whole thing. There was tuna smeared all over the knife. :(

I don't have allergies, so I don't have to worry about that, and I usually avoid directly watching them make my sandwich, because I don't want to know.

News!

I just got confirmation that I will be serving as December's guest editor for WilyWriters.com. December's theme will be "High Fantasy Adventure" stories.

Also, Angel McCoy has asked me to post as a guest blogger on her website (here). My article will be an "advice for new writers" blog.

It's good to be back in the writing saddle...although I need to giddyup a bit more.

Cheers!
