Well, Scott and Sarah were all set to go out and accomplish several errands, only to find themselves trapped in their home by a mass of snow made sentient by secret government experiments and hungry for the warmth of living flesh. Meanwhile, Jason and Jeremy showed up at the local burger joint for the annual burger eating contest, only to learn that everything had to be cancelled after vegan activists stampeded a herd of cows through the event site. And, across town, several people were reminded of the old adage "look before you leap" when.....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Cloves. Take some ground cloves and add just enough water to make a paste, then put it on the area that hurts. Which you will no longer feel. Way better than that stupid orajel crap that doesn't even work at all. I hope you get some sleep soon.

Yeah, I never take advice from a doctor who doesn't listen. Or wait for test results to come back. There are good doctors out there. It's just too bad that there are so many crappy ones. To be fair, the practice, or worse, the insurance company, may have certain policies that the doctors are required to follow regardless of whether it's in the best interest of the patient. Still, some of those suggestions sound...sketchy. I guess all you can do at this point is to do your homework and figure it out for yourself, which I know can be pretty challenging. That's really all the advice I can offer since, while I've tried just about every diet program under the sun, my freakish metabolism doesn't work like most people, so what doesn't work for me might be a great solution for anyone else.

I know how hard it is to wait for that kind of news. I hope that you hear something soon and that everything went well.

I had really weird dreams last night. For some reason I was trying to renovate an old mansion that anyone in their right mind could see was falling apart around me. Clearly I need to watch less HGTV...

+1

Spoiler:
After my hospital stay last year, the insurance company and the docs started pushing hard for the same programs for me. 5'10, 205#. Every blood test is followed by a renewed push. Granted, my cholesterol is borderline high, my activity has been low during my recovery, and food has been a source of comfort. That's changing now that the headaches have been reduced, but it seems that here's a program for this and a pill for that is the rule of the day. Very pushy. I'll do it on my own, with diet and exercise.

Good luck.

Spoiler:
I am also a little surprised that, even though you are steadily losing weight, the doctor wants to do something more drastic. Those strike me as things to consider if, despite your efforts, there has been no improvement, or if it "plateaus" or something. It might be worth a second opinion, at any rate.
