Taig - Congrats on the good news!

As for the bad news - sorry for your losses, and I hope everything turns out ok.

I hope everything gets better and if I don't get offered the Paizo job I hope it goes to you.

I'm sending positive thoughts your way, taig. If they knock you off your feet like a shockwave, please don't sue. I meant well.

Taig - I hope everything works out. You are our number one badger.

I wouldn't touch it. You don't have an MBA so you obviously don't know what you're doing. ;)

Saw that too. Not surprised in the least. I flagged it, for what little good it does. Trolls have blinders to those kinds of things.

Stay here, Thing. We have boobies. Heck, a few of us are boobs.

I don't want to work at Paizo. I'm afraid all my illusions would be shattered and I'd be left a disappointed shell of a zombie.

Good luck on the job opening, Taig.

About the bad news,:

I wish you the best with a difficult situation but I doubt you have let her down. Some things are just difficult to grasp and act upon. :( Just remember that when people feel down, their natural tendency is often to do the worst possible thing and that is to quietly pull away. That makes recognition very difficult. Kicking that habit of pulling away can do wonders to fix depression. :)

Interesting...

I am number four

TAIG: I'm very sorry.

Would love to.
OK CJ just send me an address, I'll try and find a suitably sized box.

Ok CJ I'll send it as soon as I can find a good box, I may have to massacre a cookie box like I did with Leafy's Mephistopholes.
Don't be disappointed when you discover Jeremy ate the cookies before he mails the minis.

Cookies are bad for me. Jeremy can have them all.

You know what is sad? I went to the locator page:

Fazoli's Locator

...and then I typed New York, New York into the search box. The top three listings are all within about 20 miles of where I live...in Portsmouth, Virginia. :P

I thought someone FAWtL was nearby.

Let me know if you ever need anything- I live in Newport News and work in Williamsburg.

Cool.

I only live about a mile from I664 (just off Western Branch Blvd), fairly close (probably fewer than four or five miles) to the Monitor Merrimac BT. So, I'm just on the other side of the water.

I'm right off I64 near Fort Eustis Blvd.

Any good game stores over in P'town?

or, on facebook...

Atlantis Games and Comics

It is 6231 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth Va.

Basically, cross the MMBT, drive about ten miles (probably less), exit onto Portsmouth Blvd and drive three miles.

They have a lot of Magic, Blood Bowl, and the Iron Kingdoms war games (can't remember the names of the two types offhand), as well as Battletech and D&D.

I usually go to World's Best Comics. It's on Warwick near Rt 17.

But Blood Bowl sounds interesting.

I haven't spent much time in the game shops in VB. That is too long of a haul for me to want to drive. Almost 20 miles to Fantasy Escape.

Yeah... You Virginians are spoiled. The nearest FLGS here? 60 MILES to the cities. Hell, when I was growing up in PA, 20 miles was a bike trip to the mall!

Damn kids today and their cars and cellphones...

This is the time of year when it is best to just write a fake ransom note for your family and friends saying you're a hostage... then disappear for a few days rest and relaxation.

Things we take for granted:

I got the job back in PA. I start on January 3rd, but I feel guilty about my current job since they are great people and it's a terrific company. So, I thought I'd be a little proactive and do some searching on Monster.com for some resumes to give my boss an "I think these guys look good" type of bonus so he's not in as much a lurch as I'm leaving him.

So, go onto Monster and hit the "Employer" button. And it hits me. Most of us have used Monster at one point in our careers, or keep it as an option to see if our dream job is waiting out there. And we all use it at no charge to us. I guess I never realized that Monster made money off the people hiring us. $845 to be able to do a Power Resume Search!!!

Ah well...

Any web developers out there looking for a job in the southern Minnesota area? Company's about an hour south of Minneapolis/St. Paul, but they are a great company to work for. Even if the web department is just one person. If you are seriously interested, email me below (and include a resume).

Ok, I've been out of it for quite a while.

Let's see, quick update and then back to work...

I'm gaming again. Every other week. After being gone for about two years from gaming, it's nice to be back into it. Took over DMing for a couple of sessions too. Didn't realize how much I missed it.

Mortgage lending is busy and it's not. Rates are great, but they've gone up recently. The problem is that we are spinning our wheels trying to document everything that the government says that we need to document -- because the government needed a "fall-guy". (Oh, I could rant for hours on that.)

Got violently sick last week. So did the wife. It's not good when you've got two kids and both adults are sick at the same time. Then our youngest got sick in the middle of the night over the weekend. Nothing disrupts your sleep like changing and bathing your child at 2:00 in the morning and changing his beddings. (And parents out there understand this -- you never feel more helpless than when you watch your sick child.)

Things are starting to get back to some semblance of "normalcy". We may even get to set up the Christmas tree this weekend. That is -- if my son can get his castle replica built for class. (Maybe I should hire Jeremy.)

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm not checking the last 1,800 posts.

TGIF people.
