Kyleria does not yet notice the bullies below, since her eyes are on the pegasus right in front of her. She hesitates for a moment, and then she tries to hop onto the winged horse right behind it's rider. If she does, she throws her arms around his waist.
Acrobatics DC 15 to hop on the back of the horse.

“That sounds like something my folks would do, but I’m not listening to anything unless you got proof.”
Tulgeikh thinks “If he is from house Deneith There’s no way I could beat him. Let’s see what he has to offer that I can take advantage of. “
“So Shawnis why don’t you get us a seat where we can watch the races and discuss the mission of yours”
“Also don’t ever threaten the home again. I’m not much of a threat to you now but if something happens to them I will put everything into becoming a threat and when I become a threat I will come after you and everyone else who was involved.”
”I wonder who Shawnis has informing for him down in the cogs?”

Electricity sparks from Ostran's hands, zapping the street, even causing hair to stand on end for those nearby. His voice lowers, even changes tonality some. Several of the bully's immediately run, terrified of this transformed creature that stands before them. The crowd begins to clear the street near Ostran. Bandatiq hesitates, then says, "This ain't over, Ostran," and then runs to find the rest of his gang.
You notice on a landing overhead the redheaded half-elf girl has watched this scene. She stands amazed for a moment, and then she enters into a small skycouch and the driver immediately moves them off into the air.
In addition, several Watch guards hesitate before they decide to move toward you to determine what just happened.
On the roof, Kyleria attempts to leap on the back of the young man's pegasus, but unfortunately doesn't leap high enough. Not even the teenager's attempt to grab her helps the situation. The pegasus immediately bounces up, and once again their struggle continues as they fly to the north. "Goodbye, Pretty Feet," the boy yells as he flies to the north.
Mevitari approaches Kyleria. "What were you doing?!"

For Tulgeikh:
"As for threats, as long as you do what I say, you will not have any further threats.
"I don't have time to sit with you during these races, nor do I get chummy with the help. Here is what I want from you. One of our clients recently had a shipment stolen from him. The shipment included several precious bottles designed in ancient times by Xen'drik elves that my client hoped to auction off for a hefty sum. We suspect the Daask gang stole them and plans to sell them on the black market.
"Your mission is to find and return those bottles. If you do, I will pay you 100 gold pieces. Not bad for a days work, eh?
"I have to leave now. I will contact you once you have the bottles. Good day. Oh, and don't bother following me."
With that, he turns and begins to leave.

Ostran runs towards the coach to try to catch up to her but alas, she got away.
Lam, shall we return to Mevitari and the kids?
"One moment, a few guards are heading our way." Lam moves to intercept the guards.
"Gentlemen, forgive us for that little altercation. They were trying to rob us and my friend frightened them off. Nothing more than that happened. Now, can my friend and myself leave or would you rather we stayed to answer a few questions?"

For Tulgeikh:
You also know that Lamander and Kyleria sometimes go down to the Cogs and may have more information. Momma Grobi may also know something.
Storyteller.
The guards blink for a couple moments at Lam and Ostran. One weakly states, "Don't get into trouble, now," and then with scowls, the guards move along their way.
Meanwhile, Mevitari looks at Kyeria and appears about to scorn, but instead surrenders. He goes over to the side of the roof and looks out at all the activity, obviously distracted by something on his mind.

Tulgeikh will start looking for Lamander or Kyleria.
You know where they were supposed to be, but Mevitari will probably be there too. Your best bet is to hope they've left the Path of Light shrine in Hope's Peak and began wandering the streets; in that case, you could look for them. Otherwise, you'll need to get their attention without getting the attention of Mevitari. Or you can wait until after the races. You all stay in the same room, except for Kyleria, who stays with the younger girls in an adjacent room.
Roll Insight for further thoughts on the matter. DC 10 will give you some information, DC 15 will give you more.

Insight 21
Can't help but wonder who she is and why she was down here?
Because you didn't interact with her much, it's hard to say exactly. You believe she recognized you, and she seemed in a big hurry to leave. You would also guess she is either royalty or belongs to one of the Houses.

I'll be giving the details of the race in episodes throughout the day. But we will be finished with the race by the end of the day.
After Ostran and Lam make it back to the roof, they hear street folk from the other side of the roof begin to cheer, although some begin to scream. The orphans quickly run to the other side of the roof, where suddenly a large reptilian creature flies up into clear view, making the children scream. If you have dreamed of dragons, this creature is the closest living thing you've ever seen to such a creature. It's greenish scales glisten in the sunlight. You also notice dagger-like fangs, sharp rear talons, a wing span covering the width of the building; you feel slightly thrown back by the rush of air caused by the flapping of its muscular wings. At the end of its tail is a strange stinger. It lets out a loud whelp. You've seen more graceful flying creatures today, but it makes up for this lack with intimidation and magnificence.
On it's back stands a handsome, mustached black haired man covered in shiny blue armor, holding his helm in one arm, raising his flexed arm in triumph with the other. Exuding arrogance and glory, the man swallows the crowd's cheers like some magical ambrosia that makes him grow stronger.
The duo begin gliding to the north, with the man continuing to inspire applause and terror in the streets as he heads toward the starting platform. The race is about to begin!
For Balgron:
It is hard to make out why Mevitari seems so distant today, but he seems distant with everyone, not just you.

The moment has arrived. The races are about to begin. All across Upper Dura, synchronized drums begin beating, filling up all the streets, alley ways, and rooftops with their pounding intensity. The drums get faster and faster, until finally they crescendo and a magical lightning bolt flies up into the air and the race begins.
All the racers are once again heading your direction, however, this time they will be flying through the open air between the towers of Hope's Peak and Clifftop. Several red everbright lanterns mark the the correct path. As they pass, the wyvern leads the way, frightening the other mounts into backing up. Anytime one gets close, the wyvern snips at it. Meanwhile, the halflings on glidewings are close behind, shooting little crossbows at the creature and its rider. These crossbows, actually a legal part of the game, are usually not strong enough to be lethal but can be quite an irritant for the riders. Close behind are the House Vadalis riders on pegasi, mixed in with a number of other riders on griffons and hippogriffs and other, even more exotic creatures. In last place is the young man with the erratic pegasus, but he is hooting and hollering and having a great time.
As the wyvern passes by a nearby balcony, one of the wyvern's talons accidentally hits a spectator who goes toppling down. The man screams, but luckily a nearby mage casts a spell that causes the man to fall slowly, like a feather. These mages are hired during this game to strategically place themselves in case of such occurrences. The worse the man will have is a long walk back to the upper wards. However, you've heard tales of those less lucky during the games who have fallen to their deaths. For multiple reasons, these games can be dangerous for riders and spectators alike.

And the winner is...(don't look if you don't want a spoiler; the winner is being chosen at random)
1 - Vadalis
2 - Talenta halflings
3 - Petralis
4 - Young man on pegasus
5 - Other
1d5 ⇒ 3
About ten minutes pass. You can occasionally see the fliers darting up and down around the towers of the city. Finally, they are making their last, straight-line dart from south to north to reach the finish line. Rising up are three in the lead - a pegasus of House Vadalis, the man riding the wyvern, and a halfling on a glidewing. The pegasus is gaining speed, as the wyvern and glidewing seem locked in a combat. The wyvern has grabbed one of the glidewing's talons, forcing it to stay behind. Eventually, the wyvern throws the glidewing downward and the glidewing is struggling to regain control of itself.
The wyvern then lets out a howl and struggles with all its might to catch up to the pegasus. The pegasus has passed you and is moving above the street where Ostran and Lam had been wandering before. The wyvern manages to catch up and as he passes the pegasus, smack the creatures rear. The pegasus and rider go tumbling down into the street, smacking into bystanders before finally rolling to a halt. You probably won't learn if anyone was hurt or killed until you read about it in the Sharn Inquisitive tomorrow morning. Luckily, halfling healers from House Jorasco quickly make it to the scene.
The glidewing manages to gain control and zips back up, speeding toward the finish line. It's going to be close, but the wyvern manages to reach the finish seconds before the glidewing. Petralis has won! The streets go wild.
You were too stunned by the ending to notice that the young man has landed on your roof again and dismounted. "Anyone want to pet the pegasus?" Immediately, the kids turn around, survey the scene, and then run to the horse, cheering and petting it. The pegasus seems a bit stunned by the attention, but doesn't leap or otherwise appear dangerous. The young man winks at Kyleria. Mevitari suddenly engages himself and says, "Step away from the pegasus, Little Ones; it might be dangerous." The kids who hear immediately obey, but not everyone heard.
"Sir," the young man says, "while my steed may be a little uncontrolled in the air, I assure you it is quite gentle on the ground, particularly around children."
Mevitari hesitates.
Balgron
"Where were you, Balgron?"
"I was running the usual errands, food for the week and some cleaning supplies. I also picked up a few nuts and bolts out of the spare parts bin for you, nothing to get too excited about though."
Balgron is taken by surprise as the wyvern does an unauthorized flyby, the pattern was already full of pegasi and glidewings.
As the young rider lands his mount on the roof, Blagron follows Mevitari's orders by holding young ones back but quickly yields to their whining to pet the pegasus.
Storyteller.
The young man talks to Kyleria. "Hello again, Pretty Feet. I'm Dominum; this is my pegasus Falafax."
Mevitari, ignoring questions about what is wrong with him, interrupts. "Young man. I'm sure you and your pegasus are fine, but these children are under my care and I don't know you. I'm going to have to ask you to leave. If you want to stop by the Orphanage of the Lady of the Garden in the Broken Arch district, perhaps we can talk then and I can get to know you better."
The young man dutifully returns to his mount. "Well, so long Pretty Feet. Perhaps I'll see you again. Best back away children." With the help of Balgron and Cogmin, the children back away.

For Tulgeikh:
You realize once the race is over that you better rush home quickly before Mevitari and the rest of the orphans return. When you arrive home, Krovok is swearing in the kitchen and seems oblivious of your absence.
Storyteller.
The young man flies up into the air and away. Mevitari lines up everyone and they exit the church, passing by the monks who seemed to be relieved that the orphanage is leaving. The streets are more chaotic than ever, and Mevitari does his best to keep everyone together and safe. People scream and dance, costumes become more outrageous - the streets are alive!
Finally, you return to the orphanage. You can tell the dwarf Krovok is cooking because he always lets out grunts and occasional swear words (much to Mevitari's chagrin) as he continues his culinary battles. Everyone appears to be returning to their respective places, preparing for dinner. Mevitari motions Ostran to follow him to his room.
