I'm building a Paladin of Erastil for Kingmaker and he will be primarily an archer with with high Dex and Charisma. Strength will be 12-14.
I am having trouble deciding on a melee weapon.
My considerations:
Given Erastil portfolio, possibly some weapon with it roots in a farming implement.
Or maybe an axe of some sort if I take the woodsmen approach. Or something akin to a boor spear.
As an archer I may not want to carry a shield, so maybe a two handed weapon.
I do have some trouble envision running about the forest with bow out and a glaive strapped to my back. Easier to see if it on my horse, but that maybe leaves still the question of unmounted melee.
I suppose I am weighing thematic and mechanical considerations.
Thoughts?

I'd probably go with either a sword (Long or Bastard sword). Very rangery (in a robin hood or aragorn sort of way), which is the first image that comes to my mind when thinking of a paladin of Erastil.
Or a questerstaff, has the advantage of being able to be used as either a two-hand or double weapon on a whim according to the situation, very much in accord with the forest, and is also a very subtle and unthreatening weapon.
Finally, I'm not sure how you'll spend your feat, but I believe you'll probably have a much higher Dex thant Str. Finessable weapons are to be considered then, obvious choices being the Rapier (tough it is weaker and very civilized for Erastil) or the more powerful albeit fitting Elven Curve Blade (costs you an extra feat unless you're an Elf tough).
Those, the heavy flail and the greataxe (one sided as mentioned earlier) seem to be your best combinations of flavor/effectiveness.
Btw: It's Harsk (scroll down), the dwarven ranger iconic.
Edit: Ninjaed, but I got his backstory and stats too!
