Open Events Signup? How's this gonna work?

Hi all,

I've been looking for the Open Event first come first serve rules. How will the this sign up work? Seems like the flood gates will open on the following Monday. Will the entry form allow one to select a list of events and submit them at once or submit one at a time? If an attendee doesn't get into an event will there be another chance (e.g. additional opening of tables?) I am interested mostly in Society play so I'm curious.

The registration form allows you to select or unselect as many events as you like before saving, and you can edit your choices at any time before registration closes.

For Society play and the seminars, we expect there to be sufficient space that anyone who wants to get into an event can.

For events that do fill up (mostly events that were part of the lottery), you can always check back to see if someone gave up their slot or is offering a trade for the event you want.

I have another (annoying) question regarding the open events. Some are listed as Pathfinder Society "Special" events. Do these count as scenarios as far as level advancement, or are they just opportunities to garner loot and such, like the fair-type event last year?

The "Year of the Shadow Dragon" is a special event because it's for Tier 1-11. It will have a +1 XP chronicle sheet.

The "Master of the Fallen Fortress" is a special event because it's for brand new level 1 PCs only. It's an introductory scenario, our Free RPG Day published event, and it also has a +1 XP chronicle sheet at the end.

Thanks guys. Good info. For those using the "buddy system" does each person have to enter their own choices or does one person's get copied to the others?

Josh stated elsewhere that you and your buddy should both enter the same numbers for the same events.

And don't worry about getting into Society Scenarios. I hear there are gonna be lots of tables going!

Glad to hear there will be plenty of Society tables going! We want to spend every second we can playing.

You can also guarantee playing by volunteering to GM a scenario (or two). That was definitely some of my most fun moments last time - PaizoCon players are high caliber!
