The party IMC captured Tsuto, and he's presently sitting in jail. They've already interrogated him, and came up empty, as Tsuto was unwilling to share anything. However, they just leveled-up to 3rd level, so the cleric now has access to zone of truth. Now, I realize the spell has some significant limitations, but I want to reward the players for a) capturing Tsuto alive, and b) diligently pursuing the interrogation angle.
First of all, how much beans should I spill?
Secondly, I'm still a little unclear about how Tsuto and Nualia got together in Magnimar. What sparked the relationship? I'm sure it's in Burnt Offerings somewhere, but I'm just not finding it... I'd like to have their story 100% dialed in prior to the interrogation.
Thanks!

Well, Tsuto is well aware of Nualia's powers and the strength of her forces in Thistletop, but he is also extremely loyal and in love (or at least, in lust). I doubt Tsuto would tell the PCs anything about the forces in Thistletop, at least no more than is mentioned in his journal. What he would do is brag about how powerful his love has become, her new found purpose, and that she will certainly come to his rescue when she realizes he has been captured, thus dooming Sandpoint and the PCs.
In my RotRL game...

I'm not sure that it's actually detailed how they met in Magnimar, but since they are both essentially exiles from their home town and both have "daddy issues," they could have bonded over that.

According to Burnt Offerings page 20 "He was already in love with her" so "So when she approached him with an offer of a job, he felt as if fate had finally dealt him a good hand. When he learned that her plans involved burning his hometown as an offering to her goddess, Lamashtu,
Tsuto was even more thrilled—not at the opportunity to serve the goddess of monsters (Tsuto doesn’t have much interest in religion)
but as an opportunity to get revenge on the town he blamed for his
bitter and joyless childhood."
So they knew each other and she apparently chose him knowing full well he hated Sandpoint. It also never expressley states they have a relationship outside of one in his head. So saying that they met as she was hiring thugs and killers and she chose him knowing he'd be down for killing Sandpoiint.

Keep reading. The goblin shaman Gogmurt explicitly states that he's seen Tsuto and Nualia "going at it like donkey rats" in the woods. That and the part where Orik had thoughts of offing Tsuto so Lyrie would stop obsessing over the half-elf and pay him some attention, but decided against it because he's boinking the boss all seem to prove that it wasn't all in Tsuto's head.
