I'm really pumped for the Challenge! Said Paladin is a good player, and a close friend. His Paladin already walks the line of his Alignment, hes been asked a few times to "go away" while we "talk" to someone. When he comes back the person some how fell down the stairs, in a one floor building ><. Hes also seen me Fireball a group of witches that where summoning a demon, they where defenseless, and where not armed. It this case though, we where some what charmed by Strahd. With the Magic items I got, my base stats + being a lich, my Int hit 30. So i should have some pretty decent saves for my spells. This wizard is a generalist, so no restrected schools.

So it should be fun, thats the Idea. Well, and to get some free loot/ become a lich ^.^ lol. I'll prob start off small, trying to bluff my way into getting him to kill an innocent, or something along those lines.

If he does fall, I don't believe that will be the end of his Charatcer. Our DM let me play as a Whisp for a while after my soul was extracted from my body, and couldn't get back in. So his paladin lvls could go to blackguard, or even the new Anti-Paladin. Or another option would be to get him to fall, get my loots, then double cross the Devil and redeem him, or even both of us(which is unlikely for my Character. He has a Raistlin/Fistandantlus complex, must aquire more power, and maybe even attempt to become a darklord). The DM may be double crossing me aswell. ravenloft is a Dangerous place. And the Devil i made the pact with was the same one that turned Strahd into the Vampire (per the adventure). And the Dark powers can take notice on extreme-Evil acts in Ravenloft aswell. I'm very Excited to play this out and see where it goes.

I was thinking of ways to Hide my Lichie-ness. "magic jaring" A creature or Villian seems like a good idea, then Hide my Lich body in a Bag of holding or some such. Any suggestions there?

I like campaigns where the PCs try to be the Big Damn Heroes.

Here's a fairly simple recipe for corruption:

Make a random whozitz that looks appropriately creepy and Ravenlofty--a stick effigy made of twigs and wolf hair would do just fine--cast Magic Aura on it and put it in the paladin's bed. Knowledge Arcana should be more than sufficient to make something that looks like a curse token. It's not really cursed, mind you. You just need the paladin to think it may have been cursed.

A while later, when convenient, find some innocent sweet young thing (or whatever passes for one in Ravenloft) who has caught the paladin's eye--this barmaid, that flowergirl, heck, even a hooker with a heart of gold in a pinch--and use Charm Person to get her to follow you off somewhere. Then use Summon Monster to conjure up some fiendish wolves to tear her apart. Save an arm as souvenir and tuck it in the paladin's bed when he's sleeping.

A night or two later, when the paladin is sleeping again, go off by yourself (closeting to study your spellbooks is a perfect excuse) and cast Disguise or Alter Self to make yourself look like a humanoid werewolf, with different costuming, and then cast the Dream spell so you can appear in the paladin's dreams and inform him that you are Bob, Lord of Werewolves, (yes, come up with a more pretentious name) and he is your latest minion and he should come to join you. The paladin will likely wake up screaming, "I will never join you! Never!" but that's all well and good.

Continue on with the plan of slaughtering random girls who catch the paladin's eye and leaving bits of them where the paladin will wake up with them. Your imp with his invisibility will be able to help with this, especially as you can establish an alibi.

If the paladin doesn't believe that he can turn into a werewolf, remind him that "Even a man who's pure of heart and says his prayers at night/may become a wolfman when the wolfsbane blooms and the moon shines bright" and besides which all bets are generally off in Ravenloft.

If he isn't confessing to the authorities by this point, you'll probably get him to fall, and once he's fallen, you can arrange for him to meet your devilish sponsor and become a blackguard. Basically it's sort of a ponzi scheme with the devil.

Lots of variables here, especially in the way the DM deals with sin and paladin's falling, but it should likely happen sooner or later as the paladin lies or at least conceals the embarrassing truth.

As an extra touch, you could also tell the paladin the story that the victims of certain sorts of werewolves rise as zombies unable to rest until the werewolf that spawned them dies. This is the mythology of An American Werewolf in London and it could be easily counterfeited via Animate Dead and you commanding the zombie barmaids and hookers to haunt the paladin.

The Exchange

Nothing wrong with the smite evil slap test on the willing, and nothing wrong with the paladin refusing the company of any that decline
