Kingmaker

hey guys i am running kingmaker and in it they went to winter and started to experience Cold weather and snow. (really fun) the problem is that now instead of having a fun campagin in winter they will all use endure elements and remove that side of the fun

Got any ideas about it?

They have the resources to Endure Elements the whole party every day? Sounds like your going too easy on them.

Anyway endure elements lets them stay out in the cold, not much else. You still have the challenge of mapping out a hex in a blizzard, among others.

If you have enough spellcasters that they can cast endure elements on everyone... then let them. That's the point of the spell. Changing things up so that the PCs can't use their toys is mean.

Keep in mind that the PCs need to prepare a lot of endure element spells to cover everyone; even wands run out of charges. And since a lot of Kingmaker exploration can churn through the days, they'll be using a LOT of those spells.

And now and then, you can have the PCs have to do quests where they have to escort larger groups, in which case dealing with the cold weather can raise all sorts of new problems.

But the main point you have to ask yourself: Is making the PCs freeze and endure cold weather fun for everyone? Or just for the GM. If it's just fun for the GM and the players get frustrated that they're spending the majority of the session dealing with snow and ice and rain and soggy socks and frostbite, suddenly they're not going to want to explore at all. And then you've basically shot Kingmaker in the foot.

Don't overdo the cold weather stuff; keep in mind that the Players are there to have fun and for most players, that means killing monsters, getting loot, roleplaying, and exploring the world. Dealing with cold weather can be fun the first few times, but it's easy to overdo it, and if your PCs are using endure elements a lot rather than saving those precious spell slots or gold for other things, it's basically just mean to tell them their resources are useless.
