Everyone else spins around and sees wolves in full charge bear down on Sioned and Ahz. Andreas only just has time to swing his glaive off his shoulder and down, slicing deeply into the side of the wolf who was charging Sioned. Blood fountains onto the frozen ground, causing the snow and ice to steam.
Wolf on Andreas, vs. ac 18, CMD 15:
hit/dmg/trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Wolf on Ahz, vs ff ac 18, CMD 11:
hit/dmg/trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 21d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
The first wolf rolled a 1 on his hit roll - I won't yet, but late rI'll discuss a couple of the house rules I use at home, mostly for crits and fumbles. So for now, the wolf just misses.
The wolf Andreas so accurately slashed is spun around by the blow. Furious from pain, the wolf feebly tries to snap at Andreas but is off balance and does not even get close.
Meanwhile, the wolf attacking Ahz launches himself upon the cleric, almost slipping off his metal armor but managing to sink his teeth into Ahz' arm at the last second. The weight of the flying wolf flips Ahz over onto his back, and his arm is bleeding some onto the ground. The wolf snarls and comes back at him.

Hellefire |
Everyone except Andreas, roll initiative.
Ahz is lying prone, the wolf next to him. Caydee is 10' away from them both. Andreas is about 15' from all of them, next to the wolf, and Sioned is 5' away from Andreas and the hurt wolf. Gnosh and Fubar are 10' from Sioned on the opposite side from the bloody wolf and Andreas(so 15' from them, 30' from Ahz and his wolf).
{ooc}Andreas - sorry missed that you had a polearm. Of course it is out unless you specifically say you stash it somewhere

This'll be my last post. Sorry, guys, but I need to channel my time towards a project I've been putting off for a while, and as I'm not that experienced a DM anyway and this is a fairly fast-moving game, I've decided to leave. Good luck, and good bye!

This'll be my last post. Sorry, guys, but I need to channel my time towards a project I've been putting off for a while, and as I'm not that experienced a DM anyway and this is a fairly fast-moving game, I've decided to leave. Good luck, and good bye!
** spoiler omitted **
Bummer. Thanks for playing while you did!

Hellefire |
{ooc}That's too bad, it's been fun gaming with you. You know, I run things fast because I like to - it does not necessarily mean that every or any other DM will. That was part of the idea, everyone taking turns so we have different styles. While you certainly are entitled to leave if you wish, I hope you decide to stay, and will not work on replacing you for a bit, in case you want to reconsider. Either way, it's been great!

Hellefire |
Gnosh pulls his blade and moves over to the bloody wolf crouching next to Andreas. {ooc}You do not technically have flanking at the moment because Andreas has a reach weapon and Sioned is 5' away from the wolf, so nobody else is currently a threat. You choose the side opposite Andreas because he is the one most likely to step back and become a threat to the wolf.
Speaking of Andreas, you're up.
Initiative Order:
15 Gnosh
12 Andreas
10 Ahz
7 Fubar
5 Wolves
4 Sioned
You hear a scream from the direction of Caydee, but she does not seem to be standing where she was. You quickly turn back to the battle at hand.

Andreas Vaughn |

Andreas takes a step back, shifting his grasp on his weapon in order to bring the glaive down in a strike intended to finish the injured wolf.
5-Foot Step
Melee Attack, Glaive

Hellefire |
Taking a swift step back, Andreas brings his glaive down on the wolf, slicing through the shoulder and bisecting the wolf's heart. It drops lifeless to the ground and its blood continues to steam.
Andreas swivels around and looks over at the wolf standing over Ahz. Unfortunately, he is 10' away from it and will have to move again to reach it, even with his polearm.
{ooc}You can turn around, but you cannot take a 5' step and also actually move with your move action, so turning toward the second wolf is about the best you can do.
**Next Up: Ahz**

Azhateran Slug |
Cursing the wolf's sharp teeth, Ahz moves to his feet as quickly as possible. He then takes a 5' step behind the wolf (to allow flanking for his teammates) and swings his morning star at the wolf's snarling jaw.
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
{ooc}(If for some reason I cannot swing at the wolf, for example he trips me, I will use my standard action as a move action to stand back up )

Hellefire |
As Ahz gets to his feet, the wolf takes the momentary distraction to jump forward and snap at him again.
Wolf Attack vs. ac 20: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
The wolf's snapping jaws slide off metal armor. Ahz brings his morning star around and attempts to shatter the wolf's skull, but the ball passes harmlessly over the wolf's head.
**Next up: Fubar**

Caydee Brunland |

Temptation... I guess I can't pass up a chance to play Pathfinder, after all. Sorry for the false alarm *grins sheepishly*.

Hellefire |
{ooc}As Fubar is wearing medium armor (please also put the weight of current gear on your character write-up somewhere), he only has a movement of 20', and the nearest wolf is 30' away. So, you have 2 options - use both move actions to get to the wolf and attack next time, or use the charge action. I will rule in this case that though there is snow and ice on the ground, it is not deep snow or too slippery and so does not hinder movement, and there is nobody directly between you and the wolf, so it is possible to charge. I will also rule that you will indeed take that action. I do not mind people saying before their initiative turn what they are doing, but I reserve the right to interpret that when their turn does come around.
Fubar growls and charges the wolf, swinging his heavy flail down with extreme force. The sound of breaking bones can be heard clearly from all around and the wolf yelps loudly.
{ooc}Currently Ahz is to the far north, next to him is the wolf, and on the other side (south) of the wolf is Fubar. Andreas is 5' from Fubar toward the southeast. 5' south of Andreas is the dead wolf, and just south of the dead wolf is Gnosh (25' from the live wolf, and unfortunately no way to flank it at the moment). Sioned is 5' to the west of the dead wolf (20' from the live wolf).
**Next up: wolves**

Hellefire |
{ooc}Woohoo, glad ya still here KD! The system has a dice function to roll dice for you...if you click on the Show button under a post window where it says 'BBCode tags you can use:', it shows the format. Basically its just like all of the other mark-up - start with [xxx] and end with [/xxx]...in this case the xxx is dice...and between the tags put in the dice you want to roll in the format xdyy+zz...so if you have +2 to initiative it would be 1d20+2, you can also do multiple rolls, for example to roll for your hit and damage together, something like 1d20+3;1d8+1 (seperate rolls with a ;). Go ahead and try it a few times to make sure it works. And I'm really glad you decided to stay :).

Hellefire |
The wolf turns to see where this pain came from, and jumps at Fubar.
Attack vs. Ac 20: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
The wolf hits the top of his head on the bottom of Fubar's shield, and his jaws don't come even close.
**Next up: Sioned**
{ooc}Caydee, roll initiative and you'll be back next round

Andreas Vaughn |

{ooc}You can turn around, but you cannot take a 5' step and also actually move with your move action, so turning toward the second wolf is about the best you can do.
You're right, of course. For some reason that's the one rule I forget every game I play. :P

Sioned |

Fairly certain that she would be more in the way than anything in a melee, and also confident that the boys have the wolf in hand, Sioned holds her action and scans the snow on all sides, not ready to be caught unaware a second time.
Perception if needed:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
of course, her head is so deeply buried in her hood, she can't spot anything at all.

Andreas Vaughn |

Andreas spins and, readjusting his stance, thrusts his glaive toward the wolf before pulling it up in an attempt to slice into the canine's hide.
Melee Attack, Glaive

Hellefire |
Ahz swings wildly, showing the prowess of a slug.
**Next up: Fubar**
Fubar brings his heavy flail crashing down on the wolf's head, shattering his skull and sending bits of blood, fur and bone flying in all directions.
KD brings up her bows and aims where the wolf's head was a moment ago, but slowly breathes out and loosens her bowstring as she sees it fall. She takes a quick step away from the crevice that almosty claimed her.
{ooc}
Now is a good time to collect yourself, examine your surroundings if you wish, examine and deal with the corpses, check who is carrying what, etc, etc.

Azhateran Slug |
Smiling sheepishly, Ahz walks a bit away from the corpse and sits to bandage his arm. Really need to pick up a healing kit one of these days.
I know I don't have to roll, as there are no game benefits from healing for bandaging a wound unless it is bleeding for some reason or you are unconscious, but I like the roleplaying factor :)
heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
The bandage he makes is sufficient, if a bit sloppy. It may be because he seems a bit distracted.

Fubar |

"I am too loaded tah be a gettin tah where Ima needed"
I would like to stay light so about 100 lbs, the main problem is armor and weapons is 70 lbs. Backpack, bed roll, winter blanket, 3 person tent 30 lbs.
That leaves 10 lbs of rations, 100 ft of rope 20lbs., pitons (unspecified quantity) .5 lbs/each
"Unless Rusty be wantin tah carry me flail around tah all tha places were tah be a seein"

Sioned |

Sioned trudges over, glancing around but not seeing anything...contemplating why she didn't decide to take up the career of blind oracle...
"I can at least help you with your bedroll and blanket..."
She is at a medium load after a hearty meal, so I might as well take the extra 10 lbs until I hit heavy. I don't need to run much during a fight anyways.

Gnosh Ferhul - Rogue |

Gnosh puts away his falchion, steps up and takes hold of the sack after Sioned removes the bedroll and blanket, grunting as he slings it over his shoulder. "Gonna drop this at the first sign of trouble. Hope no one minds a wet tent."
He looks over at Caydee. "You want to take care of these wolves? Those pelts could be mighty warm in the colder parts of the mountain."

Caydee Brunland |

I think I have a load of about 30 lbs, which I can easily carry.
"While that would usually be a good idea, and I hate wasting anything from an animal I've had a hand in killing, most of us already have large loads, decent cloaks, and tanning the hides might take more time than it's worth." Caydee looks pensively at the wolf's corpses for a moment. "We'd best get these off the path. The scavengers will take care of them, and if you think we can afford a stall, I'd be able to use the pelts, not to mention the meat and the bones (if you could carry the load)." She bends down to start carefully hauling a dead wolf towards the nearest tree cover.

Sioned |

Sioned grins up at Fubar,
"I like any plan that places a steel weilding half-orc between me and stuff with sharp teeth. Glad to be of service! Just don't ask me to spot any charging wolves for you..."
Looks over to where Caydee is dragging the corpse and the barely visible crevasse, a good place to stash bodies we don't want left in the open.
"Don't go falling in...I don't want to be the only one around who needs to squat to pee!" She has never been particularly lady-like.

Andreas Vaughn |

Andreas steps forward to help move the carcasses. I should be able to handle additional equipment as well. My strengths lie in my weapon, my wit, and my faith; being able to somersault the occasional crevasse is not something I've ever prided myself in. The paladin offers a jovial smile in Caydee's direction as a speaks his last words, hoping to communicate the statement was made in harmless jest.
If those who are overloaded want to make a list of the gear they want to distribute among the rest of us, we can claim what we will, add up the new weights, and move on. As it is, I'm not sure what type of gear, exactly, is causing the problems; it'll be hard to redistribute equipment without specifically listing each item that needs moved.

Hellefire |
Unless things get excessive, you don't have to worry toooo much about weight, I just want to know what everyone's current speed is. If someone has time to add up weights and feels like it, that's fine - generally there are times with nothing else to do in PbP games - but I personally won't worry about it unless you find 100,000 cp you want to drag around :). No promises on the next DM though...
Everybody: Roll a perception check.
