I have always just taken the bus from the airport to Bellevue, so I can't say anything about other forms of transportation.
King County Metro has a trip planner http://tripplanner.kingcounty.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl?resptype=U so you can see which buses to take. The con date is currently too far in the future to put into the planner but you can put in a closer date just to get an idea of bus times. It will also tell you the fare.
You might also be able to carpool if other people are flying in at a similar time...

Definitely check out the trip planner. Bus is pretty cost effective, don't know how much/any luggage you plan on bringing though. If you're pretty light on what you're carrying it could be a great option. If you're bringing more than maybe 2 small bags it could be a little more annoying.
560 Bellevue-Sea-Tac/West Seattle is the express route, think the transit center about half a mile-mile away from the hotel... Could cab it from there if you have lots of luggage, or could walk it.
I think that might get you in the ballpark, and it would be much cheaper than cab fare.
Another option could be to catch the Light Rail (right there at the airport) to Westlake, and catch a bus/cab from Seattle.

Last year I took a shuttle. Timitus posted a link in last year's con posts. I'll try finding and posting it.
It was easy and the cheap. I did have to wait after I landed but that was due to construction slowing traffic, not with the service.
Dropped me off at the hotel and picked me up. Easy as pie.

Yep, that looked to me to be the best time/cost way to get from/to the hotel. They seems to run on a regular basis and the link that was given allowed you to make a reservation and pay in advance (which is what I was planning to do).

The bus worked wonderfully for me flying in, and while it took a bit longer than a shuttle would have it was much, much cheaper. I had a very early morning flight out on Monday morning, though, so I had a shuttle pick me up and take me back to the airport so I could get a little more sleep before needing to get up, as a bus would have required more lead time.

I used to live in the area without a car, so I practically envision the Greater Seattle area as bus routes and lines. It's been a few years, but assuming nothing has changed during the week it's probably going to be about the same or a bit faster to use the buses rather than the shuttles to get to the hotel, provided you don't mind a bit of a walk.
If I am remembering right, you'll want to take the 560 to Bellevue, then either the 253 or 230 going towards Redmond, and they'll drop you off across the street from the hotel near a Denney's. That'll take about the same time or a bit longer than the shuttle.
