Moving to Longview, TX

Gamer Connection

Are there any fellow Paizoians in Longview, especially those in need of another player and/or DM? I'll be moving with my family in a few months, and would like to plug into the local gaming community without resorting to passing out business cards, making announcements at random wedding receptions, or standing on street corners with a cardboard sign.

BUMP...

The question still stands; y'all don't leave me high and dry, now.

Are there NO Paizonians in/around Longview, TX?!

I find that hard to believe...

I used to live there... does that count for anything?

I don;t know what to tell you. Longview isn't exactly the bustling epicenter of gaming in Texas. You might find a group in Tyler, but for a consistent game you may have to drive to Dallas.

Oh, hey, Malachi, if you do (not that I'd wish such a long gaming commute on you), we'd love to have you! I've been trying to convince my husband that it would be worth it to switch off making that drive every month or so; if we keep having the problems we're having now keeping a group together, he might even consider it. :)

For what it's worth a lot of folks who play don't frequent these boards. there were 3 or 4 gaming stores and at least two comic shops here in Colorado Springs. They all ordered 10 to 30 core books for the initial release, and every one of them sold out on the first day. By comparison there are only two guys from the Springs who frequent these boards.

Your best bet may be the old FLGS cork board.

Good luck!

Guilty.

I find it interesting that you posted here. More because I also went to college in Longview -- so I know what the OP is talking about. (And the loop.)

Good luck in your quest.

Well, thanks for the replies, folks, and for the encouragement. The move is imminent now (likely less than a month away). Once we get settled in our new digs, I'll start perusing the local hobby shops and comic book stores, just like an old-fashioned geek.

Joana, that drive to Dallas every other month may be worth thinking about...say, drop me a line so I can give you my new work e-mail address (like you'll ever use it). ;)

I figured there's way more players than posters on Paizo's boards, but there was a glimmer of hope in me that I could find a common connection with someone and maybe help the transition a bit.

Thanks, all!

I went to college there as well, and had a rather booming gaming group while I was there. But I'm afraid all those guys/ladies have since moved off to other things.

I hope your move went well, Longview's a nice town.
