Silver Crusade 2/5

Greetings, folks,

I'm considering putting on an event for Pathfinder Society once I get back to the states after my deployment, sort of an all-day Pathfinder Society event. What I'm curious is if I should offer up a few prizes for the Faction that does the best after all the scenarios, or offer some sort of small appreciative gift for those that turn up, or something. Obviously, I'm not asking for Paizo or Mr. Frost to send me stuff like that--I'd obviously have to pay for it with my own expenses, which really isn't a problem, since I'm paying for refreshments anyway--but I'm more-or-less looking for suggestions. Any special twists that should occur?

I think that your organizing the event would be all that's required. If you offer players incentives they will come to expect such things. If the presence of snacks or prizes is what motivates them to play, they are likely doing it for the wrong reasons. If you want to appreciate a player, wait and see who the responsible ones are who give something back to the game, show up when they say they are going to be there and are encouraging and helpful to their fellow players.

Hm, insightful, thanks! I always try to provide refreshments for the groups I run for, maybe that's why certain players keep showing up...

Regardless, thanks for the insight, Doug Doug. I'll have to rethink this idea (not the actual event, but the nuances behind it).
