RAW says:
PSRD wrote:
While in rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.
as you have noted above.
The RAW also says that:
PSRD wrote:
To cast a spell, you must be able to speak (if the spell has a verbal component), gesture (if it has a somatic component), and manipulate the material components or focus (if any). Additionally, you must concentrate to cast a spell.
seems pretty clear cut to me, RAW no casting spells while raging.

I agree. While in a fit of rage... spellcasting is out.
This was one of the reasons PrC's like the Rage Mage came about.

I entirely agree, that the RAW prevent casting while raging. However, as a house rule, I allow spells that are free actions to occur in a rage without issue. My thought is that spells that quick don't need concentration. And, if a Barb/Wiz prepped a quickened spell, then the concentration happened ahead of time.
