Silver Crusade

For the folks that I accepted into the RP (and for those of you spectating or waiting in reserve), feel free to post here with OOC comments and comments concerning characters.

Posting for my dot.

I'll post my character concept later and see how it fits in with the other players before I commit to anything.

Male Human Ftr 2/Rog 3

Posting for a dot.

Good luck everyone that got in, but know that if you gotta drop, I'm right here nipping at your heels! ;)

Female Varisian Half-Elf Witch 1

Thanks DKC!

Thanks for letting me into the campaign!

I'm helping to host a HUGE family reunion this weekend, but then I should be back to regular participation after that. In the meantime, I submitted two character concepts in my email, and I'm interested in player and GM feedback on which one would be a better fit:

-Argyle (last name to be determined) - Dwarven Inquisitor (skill focused, not combat)
Argyle is a seeker of knowledge and adventure, who feels that his duty in life is to find and share new experiences. He has an odd persistent optimism and curiosity in the face of adversity. Argyle instinctively adopts a 'mentor' mindset around anyone younger or less experienced than himself, which is almost everyone. He is a jack-of-all-trades who enjoys coming up with unusual or innovative solutions to problems.
(If the party lacks a Rogue, Argyle can cover the skills, and I would be quite willing to trade some combat-focused class feature for Trapfinding)

-Wynneflock - Tengu Wizard (Deep Pockets ability instead of school specialization)
Wynneflock (Wynne to her friends) is a highly trained scholar and merchant, but was only recently forced into the life of an adventurer when the caravan she was a part of was ambushed. Though inexperienced, Wynne is not naive and will learn quickly. She is a very capable mage, but prefers to use more subtle magic when possible instead of flashy things like Fireball.

Also, I'm fairly new to PBP's, what are these "dots" people are commenting about?

Thank you - I am most eager to begin this adventure.

For the other party members, Eroril is a dwarven cleric in search of deeper knowledge in his quest to be a Loremaster. While details are still being finalized, you can learn more about Eroril by clicking on his profile.

I was wonder about the dot also. I found this thread in the archives.

Also, I just learned that clicking on help/faq in the upper right corner also has a section that explains the dot.

the wonders of search - everything.

Ah, thank you. I was actually quite aware of that dot, so your search wouldn't have helped me, but I hadn't made the connection that it was what people were referring to. I use the RSS feed to keep track of game threads, so it didn't occur to me that people would make a post for the sole purpose of having a thread highlighted for them.

So DKC, when is the campaign starting up?

From the original GM looking for players thread...

DarkKnightCuron wrote:

...Those of you who have been accepted: I'll be starting this whole thing up in the first week of March. That should give you folks roughly two weeks to finalize your characters and send them to my email address. Some of you might have linked them to this thread, but I'd rather you sent the COMPLETE character sheet (background, personality, stats, etc) to my email so I can keep them all in one location. I appreciate the interest.

One more question about the character sheet you want emailed to you. Any particular format you would like to see for the character sheet?

I do mine in PCGen 5.162 and so I have many options including the Pathfinder Bestiary format.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Thanks for accepting my character. I'll finish getting his stats finalized and then get the profile up online.

I will be putting everything together for my character as well and send on over via email by next weekend.

Could everyone that was accepted give a one-liner as to their concept? Before I commit to a finalised character, it would be handy to know what others had envisaged.

I am playing a human nomad who failed to pass the test into manhood and was banished as a result. He has been grifting ever since in the deserts of Qadir. Barbarian 1/Rogue 2.

Any format is fine so long as it doesn't make my eyes bleed. I kinda need them.

Given that nobody has expressed an opinion on which character I should play, and the two characters people have mentioned are a rogue and a cleric, I think I'll drop the Inquisitor idea and go with Wynneflock.

Wynne is a wizard who heavily favors support magic and illusion, so there's plenty of room for another arcane caster if anyone else want to be one. I would actually love to have another arcane caster in the party because Wynne's backstory is that she was not in any way trained as an adventurer and would really like to find a mentor figure.

Also, can I get actual GM approval on taking Deep Pockets instead of School Specialization? I know I've mentioned it twice and you haven't said no, but I'd like an answer in the affirmative before I finalize the stats and send you a character sheet.

To summarize our party so far we have
Eroril Bazbek (me) - Dwarven Cleric training to be a lore master
Erinyes - Varisian Half-Elf Witch
name unknown - Human Barbarian 1/Rogue 2
Wynneflock - Tengu Wizard

I remember there being six accepted - but I can't find the post that confirms that.

I had originally looked to play a wizard. With the volume of magic users to date, is this still a sensible option for the group? I can turn my hand to other concepts. I'm not sure a paladin would work, but a cavalier? Or a fighter or ranger?

Do we need another melee character?

I'll be playing a Half-elf ranger named Osuini.

Silver Crusade

Yes, Six were accepted, but I didn't write the names of their email addresses as they were given to me for obvious privacy reasons. I need those six people to post up somekind of confirmation that they got the acceptance email in the next, say, 96 hours. If I don't get six posts like that (one from each player) I might have to replace someone. My bad on my part folks.

Farid Heydar is the name for my Barbarian/Rogue.

1d12 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 112d8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4) + 3 = 8

My 2d8 should have been +6 oops (I have a 16 Constitution).

Still not bad on total hit points. 22

I picked Barbarian as my favored class. Do I get that +1 HP bonus at first level or just every level thereafter? If so that is 23.

Abstract I am probably going up equal as Barbarian and Rogue (I have no plans to take a Prestige Class) so I will be somewhat decent in melee but certainly not as good as a straight melee character.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Finished getting my character ready. All I need to do is get the new profile done and then I'll be ready.

I think our party is a little weak in terms of melee. My dwarf is slanted more toward knowledge than power with higher intelligence, wisdom and charisma (overcoming dwarfs natural aversion to charisma) so I'm somewhat low on strength and dexterity.

Plus, I anticipate I will need to split my time between attacking and protection. So I vote for the cavalier (although the mount may not help in the dungeon crawl).

I agree that we seem a bit short on melee. However, mounts are only useless in dungeons if you go the standard "knight on horseback" route. A Cavalier hired to help investigate an ancient ruin would probably be an expert in subterranean environments, and thus it would be worth you asking the GM about more unusual options. A Dire Bat would make a whole lot of sense, and if you play a Small race Giant Frogs and Monitor Lizards are also viable.

OK, it seems a melee character is of most use. I'll tinker with the cavalier (and speak to the GM if I go for anything odd). I'll stick to my original character concept though - it will just be the skills and profession that will change.

So it looks like the party will be:

Eroril Bazbek - Dwarven Cleric 3 (training to be a lore master)
Erinyes - Varisian Half-Elf Witch 3
Farid Heydar - Human Barbarian 1/Rogue 2
Wynneflock - Tengu Wizard 3
Osuini - Half-Elf Ranger 3
name unknown - race unknown Cavalier 3

Good on melee and arcane. Looking forward to it.

For those of you participating, please make sure you provide a detailed description of your character: As detailed as possible. I might/might not be commissioning an artist (or three) to draw/paint/art-up your characters. This only applies to the ACTIVE players. Those of you on reserve: If I do this for the ACTIVE players, one falls out and you replace him/her, I'll make sure to do the same for your character.

What does this mean? DON'T SLACK OFF ON DESCRIPTIONS, PLEASE.

Knowledge Local - 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Male Half-Elf Ranger 3

Osuini checking in and ready to go.

Female Tengu Wizard 3

An email has been dispatched with Wynne's character sheet, backstory, and description. Let me know if any changes or additions are needed.
I'll update this profile to hold a description for the other players, and sections for equipment, spells prepared, and anything else likely to change at times other than a level-up.

The final build of Eroril Bazbek is complete. I tweaked the traits, feats and weapon selection a little. Details can be found by clicking on his profile, but for those interested, his biography is below:

Biography:

Eroril Bazbek comes from one of the northernmost settlements of the Five Kings Mountain Range, Tar-Kazmukh. Tar-Kazmukh is home to a very large arcane library. Eroril was a mathematical prodigy and was more interested in the great beyond and the history of different civilizations, than the mundane life of a young dwarf. It is this tremendous thirst for knowledge that has brought him to Qadira.
Growing up in Tar-Kazmukh, one would have naturally expected young Eroril to follow a wizard's path and he does exhibit a keen interest in the arcane. However, Eroril was the son of renowned healer, Kotri Bazbek, and at an early age, it was apparent that he was gifted with a sacred touch. Thus, he chose to devote himself to the life of a cleric.

Complete character sheet has been emailed. Let the adventure begin...

For those that haven't yet, please email me as soon as possible so I can get everyone's 'introduction' RP out of the way via email!

You'll get mine within 24 hours. I've rolled literally a dozen characters and none are working for me. I'm actually settled on a two-weapon fighter and I'm just working on the back-story now.

I'm here. Not that I can do much good in what I assume is the context of your question though...

I know DarkKnightCuron is still posting, so hopefully he'll let us know one way or the other soon.

Are we still on to start at some point this month?

Shadow Lodge

Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/2

I sent him an email this morning telling him there are at least 4 people still interested in playing (based on the recent posts above).

For what its worth, I am starting to develop a home brew campaign that I will begin recruiting for in about a month. I want to have the early part of the campaign and an overall plot fleshed out first.

I will post the link to that thread here too in case any of you are interested.

My apologies on the lack of updates. I've still been meaning to get this off the ground, but I haven't had a lot of time to plan things out. Military Deployment being what it is, we may have to postpone this until a later date. Those of you who are still interested, hang on to your characters for a bit until I get things straightened out on my end; Might be a month, might be until the end of the year, I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'm not going to drop this like a hot plate quite yet. I'd like to at least try and get this thing going. Once things are settled on my end, I'll make sure to email you folks.

Thank you very much for the update DKC. No apologies necessary. As an aside, your efforts abroad are very appreciated.

Eroril will wander around in the local town picking up local knowledge awaiting for your arrival. Being a dwarf, he has the patience of a stone. :)

Thanks for the update DKC. I'll just keep one eye on this thread, and another on my email and wait patiently. Osuini will just hang out in town getting ready for whatever adventure may be coming his way.

Thanks for the update I can wait :-)

Tordek what rules set are you using for the homebrew Pathfinder as well?

I'll add my vow of patience to that of the groups'.

I've got the RSS feed subscribed to, so when you do get ready to start I'll be here.

At this point my initial plan is to stick to Pathfinder Core as much as possible. I haven't studied the advanced player's guide classes close enough to know if they will fit. I plan to use Golarion as the setting.

I have no wish to hijack the existing thread, but I too would be really interested in your game once it gets underway.
