Sigh.

Anything I can do to brighten someone's day around here?

Attempt 1) I stubbed my toe earlier, feel free to laugh. I did, between hops and curses.

Attempt 2) I saw this blue canary in the outlet by the lightswitch...

Help any?

Much appreciated. Sorry for your pain.

Wait, did you manage to catch the toe stubbing on camera? It would be better if we could get some visual proof.

I'm sorry man..that's awful. Cancer is truly a thief in the worst sense.

Freehold, sorry to hear about the bummer Saturday. I'm glad Sunday kinda made up for it.

I am loathed. My ex wife did not even loath me.
You loathed first! Yeah, so, that was in his imagination, but still...
I loathe myself, does that count?

I am loathing the loathing.

Right now I'm just waiting in Sorrento to return to Pescara. We spent the day on the island of Capri. It is a thoroughly amazing place. It was swarmed with yachts and obscenely expensive stores. I'm glad I saw it though, because it's beautiful, even though I did get ripped off for a 6.50 (Euro) gelato that would have been no more than 2 Euro in any other city.

Yesterday we went to Naples, which was pure insanity. That place is huge and busy and dirty. It has its own beauty in a "faded glory" sort of way, but I don't know if I would keep it on my itinerary the next time I'm in Italy. Amazing pizza, though.

Anyway, had a nice weekend with my nephews, missed the woman I'm interested as she was out of town, have to get rid of my cat as she keeps insisting on getting fleas, and am still looking for a job (again).

Mixed bag, as always.

How does our talk about old Army days get chopped? I don't recall there being quotes in it. I'm honestly mystified as to what I said to get deleted.

Maybe you just disagreed with the way certain people think, and that upset them. Happens with food and my stomach all the time....

IIRC it was an innocent (if totally off topic) side bar.

Looks like your posts got caught in the crossfire of a giant derail and cleanup attempt. Sometimes there's collateral post removal in these kinds of situations, where leaving the innocuous stuff ends up looking completely off topic and out of the blue once the bad stuff has been cleaned up.

Cool. I know my politics aren't popular, but I really do try to be a courteous and well reasoned poster. I don't always succeed, but I honestly try.

I appreciate the insight.

Wow, if I could go through a day and not see a Starbucks, I'd be so happy it would hurt.

But then, I'm a coffee aficionado :)

But, as you're a chai drinker, the Starbucks chai is passably decent, so that is a bummer, I suppose.

Hey guys, what was the tally in terms of the iconic pics of the FAWLTYites? I know I was a (possibly female)drow illusionist, Treppa was a human commoner, Puffin was a tengu bard, Lilith was human witch, and a few others, but what was the end total? If we even came up with one?

Actually, your avatar is a female Drow priestess of Eilistraee, from the FR setting.

Sara Marie wrote:

That's possible in a major urban area that's not depressed? Wait a minute, how many unique coffee houses are you passing on the way? Aren't real Seattleites supposed to get coffee at non-chain coffee houses?

Yes, I know- she was one of the few things I could stomach from FR. I also like the idea of women doing sword katas in a state of undress. ;-)

But this was something that we did a few days ago where I wondered what the iconics for FAWLTY would look like, and people just starting stating what they thought they would be.
