OF course, if the live entertainment consists of a guy dancing on a pole, that may be disconcerting to some, but now I don't notice it.Urizen wrote:Gay clubs rock!! He can count me out of that.
True story: When I first moved up to Philly, my now wife was already here, rooming with a friend of a friend of her family in a small row house. This friend, Jen, was a few years older than me and a very fun, go out and party type.
Anyway, right after I moved up, Jen and her friends took me out drinking, but didn't tell me it was a gay bar. I finally found out when the floor show started - guys in drag lipsyncing. It was hilarious, one of the funniest things I've ever seen. All in all, I had lots of fun and got pretty sloshed.

I wouldn't know about gay clubs first hand, but I used to have these two guys on my route and whenever the other one wasn't home the one who was would hit on me. :/
That didn't bother me, but damn they should sit down and talk about their relationship. :P
You ever ask a question and immediately wish you could take it back?
Two of my best friends are a gay couple. We were out seeing a movie and they were talking about who was attractive in the audience. I was feeling a little weird and asked "well do you think I'm attractive?" and quickly thinking that I really didn't want to know the answer. They said "no" and I'm still not sure if that's "good" or "bad".

My buddy and his partner made me realize something - they're both guys, and hence think about sex a lot more than a hetero couple. For every time I think about it I'm sure my wife is thinking about a way out of it. :P

Attractive is kind of a subjective quality. For example, I have a friend who objectively I know is physically attractive, but our personalities sometimes clash, so if asked I would say that she is not attractive. It hasn't got anything to do with how she looks and everything to do with how I perceive her.

Sadly, I don't have that problem.
Which is why it took so long for me to settle down and get married.

I knew he did something like that! I always think of him whenever I see the Orkin commercials with giant insects trying to get into someone's home(either their car broke down, they are "delivering pizza" or something similar). I want to shoot an alternative version of the commercial where he leaps in from off camera in full drow makeup and gear and severs the head of the giant insect and then demands payment from the startled homeowner. He could be wearing pelts made out of insect chitin and everything!

I'd say its more the other way around- women assume you'll buy them stuff and that you want to get intimate with them. OR something like that. I have a friend who is unusually attractive, and I remember having this debate with him a few years back; maybe I'll call him up and see what he's experienced recently.

I went on a business trip in Seattle with a friend, and we went to a bar one night. He got hit on while we were there, but he didn't really realize it. I waited until we left to break it to him. :)

Aaaand there goes my calm. Kidlet was fighting at school today. :/
Yeah, had to get Kellen as well. One of the guys dared him to toss a stick at one of teh teachers cars.....yup, he did it. Poor thing, he is just trying to fit in. But of course no one heard him being dared, but they sure saw him throw teh damned stick.
Ah well. There will be good days and there will be rough days. I just pray that he will do well tomorrow and Friday. Friday there is a dance for the younger grades with Pizza and face painting and all that jazz. I really want him to be able to go.

That sounds fun. I hope he gets to go. And I know what you mean about the classmates egging him on. The instigator is never the one who gets caught :/

How was your kiddie? Is he alright?
I'm not sure. I'm just getting ready to go and get him. He had to spend part of the day in the office of course. They probably would have wanted me to come get him, but I missed the call cause silly me I left my phone in my purse. I'm not used to having a phone that works. I forget I have to carry it with me. New habits are hard darn it. :)
Anyways, I'm really nervous about this. It's getting to where he'll pretend to not feel well or exaggerate feeling bad to get out of going to school. I hope it's just normal spring restlessness. :/Anyhow, I gotta go or I'll be late picking him up.

When I was 7 I got the crap beat out of me when I called another kid a name that I didn't know the meaning of. The kid that got me to say it was nowhere to be found while I was getting pummeled.

[minirant]How ... please someone tell me how someone can be in sales for a living and cannot sell something that should sell itself?
Why aren't you getting any loans?
Well, this one couple is looking to do a refi but didn't want to raise their loan amount.
So... what rate are they at now?
6%.
So cover all their closing costs and offer them 5.25% instead of 4.875%.
Oh. That's a good idea.
Yes. Yes it is a good idea to save a couple $2,000 a year without adding anything to their current loan amount.
And this is from someone who has (supposedly) been in the industry for 20+ years.

I got into a couple of scraps when I was younger. I don't believe that I "won", but I believe that I was "successful" -- in each case, the problem didn't bother me again.

I've always heard to throw the first punch because the second punch is the one the teachers actually see.
I don't remember ever really getting into trouble with fighting at school. I'm sure I ended up going to the office, but I think the worst I got was a strong talking to. And I'll admit that I threw the first punch -- there's only so much a kid can take from bullies.

Solnes, Lynora, sorry to hear about the rough day with the kids. Hopefully it is indeed a spring thing. I didn't get into physical trouble at school until JHS, most of which are stories best not repeated. No fights in High School, however I did get robbed on a number of occasions off school grounds.

I need your thoughts, FAWLTers...
What are you looking for? (And do you want responses here or there?)

![]() |

Surprise, surprise... ok maybe not. I got into way to many fights in school. I was expeled twice. Finally in High School when I got into it with the wrestling coach, he grabed me by the throat so I decked him, I was arrested and had a restraining order put out on me. That was in ninth grade. He however got in no trouble at all, despite several witnesses stating that he assaulted me first. Oh well, at least he got his a** kicked by a 16 year old. :/
Back to work I go.

Just some feedback on whether or not it would be a good idea to include DR for masterwork armor, and whether or not you agree with the ratings and rationale given. I think responses there would be better than responses here, although the link risks getting lost in the shuffle of FAWLTy Towers posts.

So the site that I visited last week, where the problem wasn't fixed (not that I promised it would be), for which I've been working late hours to try to fix things? Yeah, they pulled our system out and put a competitor's in yesterday, evidently right after I told the guy making the decision he was my #1 priority. I just found out 10 minutes ago.
It's so rewarding when something like this happens.

For what my two cents is worth, sometimes it is difficult to pick out what just may be among the normal adventures of a young kid from the not so normal ones when you have other problems to deal with. I'm not saying it is or isn't something related to anything else just that sometimes it might be best to accept some of the occurrences as typical childish behavior. Your call as you are there and involved, not me.

Those other kids can be buggers. Sometimes it is just a learning experience when dealing with others. Hope Kellen makes the dance.

I guess it is obvious that you were noty as high on his priority list as he was on yours.
I find a lack of follow-up communications to be a really common part of doing business. When switching away from someone's service who is engaged in helping, it is proper to communicate that bit.
They severely fail at business courtesy.

It doesn't bother me that you find it humorous. It is rather darkly funny. I was a naive kid.

Yeah, see, they did communicate it to someone in the company. I just found out when someone randomly walked by and said "you might have seen the e-mail, but..."
